A Plummer I called recommended Dry Down and thank God. They were onsite within an hour pumping out the sewage, taking pictures, moisture readings, removing flooring/drywall and anything the nasty water came in contact with. To make a long horrible story short, it is SO important to find someone with your interest in mind. These guys were professional, knowledgeable, and took care of business. If I would have listened to county representatives, my home would have been ruined and/or had moisture/mold/bacteria issues for years. I highly recommend this company. In my situation, it's never ever a good idea to go with a cheap company.
Description of Work: Los Angeles County had a sewer back up which backed up into my home. Hundreds of gallons of sewage flowed through my living room. The county sent a couple of kids with a vacuum, a pack of rags and a squirt bottle of sanitizer. Totally unacceptable!

DryDown was at my home within 60 minutes of calling them. David's team took great care to protect my personal belongings by covering the floors with plastic and setting up a containment area in my room to prevent drywall dust from making a big mess! The crew was very good at communicating with me throughout the entire process. We couldn't be happier with the end results! Our built in cabinets were saved and the repairs look as if there never was any damage.

Highly highly recommend Dry Down! This is the second time they have rescued us as we have had pin hole leaks in the plumbing behind the walls, which of course you don't discover until you see mold on your walls. (My house is barely 10 years old!) Jose and his crew were punctual, professional and clean. They covered all the walkways where they would be walking, wore booties and best of all, got rid of all the damage. I really really hope that this doesn't happen to us again, but if it does, I know Dry Down will be there for me...

The team was very professional. No worries about ability or quality of work. God forbid I ever need to use them again, but I would in a pinch. I have already recommended them to a family member with an unfortunate plumbing leak. Also, I originally was recommended to them from my plumber as he had to use them on his own house. Go figure.

Arnold was a no-show at 3 p.m. but I thought he would be along soon and continued waiting. At ten minutes to four I called his cell number and told him who I was and that I had been expecting him at 3 p.m. There was a moment of hesitation and then he responded that he had been held up on a job and that "I completely forgot about you". He wanted to know if he could come by in a "few hours" to look at the job and I told him that after 5 would be too late. Then he asked me "what was the problem again?" My response to him was that I would take a pass. UPDATE to the above experience: The next morning after I posted my review to Angie's List I received a phone call from Edwin at Dry Down saying he saw my review and wanted to apologize for the no-show and wanted to come out to the house and see how they could help me. I was a bit skeptical about setting another appointment but I did appreciate the quick response to my comments and decided to give them another try. Edwin showed up right on time and quickly assessed the situation and told us what the options were for repair. The toilet had leaked due to a sewer backup and caused water damage to the hardwood floor in the bathroom. Edwin told us that he would prepare a detailed quote and email it to me; however, whether we decided to give them the business or not, he would leave with us a de-humidifier - AT NO CHARGE OR OBLIGATION - in order to dry out the floor and the subfloor. This he did as a way to make up for the no-show last week. I don't yet know if we will have them do the work but the attention to the customer shown by Edwin is the kind of thing that creates good will among customers so we wanted to amend our earlier review.
Description of Work: I left a message with Dry Down about my water problem and Arnold called me in the afternoon to ask what the problem was and we agreed on a 3 o'clock appointment for the following day (today).

We had an old cast iron drain that leaked profusely under the house and it was the odor that caught our attention. Before the plumber, M Bean Plumbing, could do the repair job the environment had to be cleaned up. M Bean recommended a company called "Dry Down" to dig out and haul away the contaminated earth. "Dry Down" arrived the same day and did excellent cleanup job. My plumbing was repaired on Memorial Day 2014. Kudos to both companies for their tag-team effort on a holiday weekend.

Eddie from Dry Down was great. First of all, they responded to my call within a couple of hours. They arrived on scene prepared to handle the situation and began to remove the ruined carpet and drywall. They even used special testers to try to find out if any other spots were wet. Once the machines had dried everything out, they came back and checked again for moisture. I am so happy that I choose to use Dry Down. They explained each step of the process, and made sure that I didn't have any questions.

It was a love hate situation. No homeowners wishes to be in this situation, but the service and attitude that Dry Down offered made us love the situation. Right from the start we did not have a problem with them. We called our local plumbing company and they came out to inspect our house. They found out it was a busted plumbing pipe and there was water all under the house. They immediately shut the water off and they told us we needed to get a restoration company. They gave us a list of a few companies they have used and told us to call around first. Amongst the list of companies, Dry Down was on the list and Dry Down came up when searching online, and when we called a few family members and friends that we had known that went through similar situations. We placed 3 calls to 3 different companies, one company has not called us back at all. The other company picked up the phone and took down our information. Dry Down without a hesitation dispatched a crew our to our property to visually inspect the problem. Upon their arrival, they had already contacted the plumbing company that we were using and had been brought up to date with what the problem was. An hour after we placed a call Dry Down showed up ready to look at the busted pipe. By the time Dry Down explained what needed to be done and have us a price break down, the other company called saying they would have someone take a look at our property within 48-72 hours (2-3 days). From their the choice was obvious. Within a matter of hours since the pipe busted, the water had been removed, the wood under the house had been treated to avoid any structural damage and fans were left to dry the area. I think the hardest was part of this whole thing was believing that a service provider was this good. These guys are the real deal and they are professional and know what they are doing.

Local plumber showed up to deal with a water heater that went bad, recommended contacting Dry Down to deal with the resulting water damage. Response from Dry Down was prompt & courteous. A tech was dispatched quickly to assess the situation. We decided to contract with them & he offered to start work immediately. It was late so we scheduled for first thing in the morning. Techs showed up on time & got their work done fast. They removed the soaked portions of the surrounding carpet & the drywall, then set up machines to speed up a thorough drying of the entire area. We were very pleased with the results.

Dry Down has proved to be a dishonest, deceptive company. I have had a billing dispute with this firm that I thought was finally settled on July 29, 2013, when Dry Down assured me in an e-mail message that a refund of $461 was sent to my homeowner?s insurance company. This refund was never sent. My problem with this firm initially began on December 3, 2011, when I had a pipe leak in a bathroom. Unfortunately, on that same day I was scheduled to have spinal surgery so my wife had to deal with the pipe leak damage. She called a plumber who repaired the leak and recommended Dry Down for the emergency dry out service. My wife, feeling the stress of my surgery on that day, did not call my insurance agent for a referral, but instead called Dry Down. The firm?s workers arrived on the afternoon of December 3, and removed the water-damaged drywall and installed dry-out equipment. They did not provide an estimate for the cost of this service, either verbally or in writing, and my wife, for reasons previously explained, did not have the presence of mind to request an estimate before they began work. When Dry Down picked up their equipment three days later on December 6, 2011, no receipt was provided to verify the number of days that their dry-out equipment was installed. It was not until I received a letter from my insurance agent dated May 4, 2012, that I would learn that Dry Down had not furnished the itemized emergency service information that he had repeatedly requested for services at my home. Consequently, my agent stated that without this itemized information, my homeowner?s insurance would not cover this expense. Believing that Dry Down would eventually contact me for payment, at which time I would have leverage to demand the itemized information that my insurance agent required, I took no further action. I was shocked to learn in June 2013, that Dry Down had recorded a Mechanic?s Lien against my home in January, 2013, for the unpaid bill for emergency services. Dry Down had never contacted me regarding payment for emergency services nor notified me that this lien had been recorded, contrary to the ?Proof of Service Affidavit? signed by someone at Dry Down. After I contacted Dry Down on June 25, 2013, regarding this lien, the firm finally furnished an itemized invoice dated December 8, 2011, to my insurance agent. In early July, after I received a copy of the invoice for the first time, I noticed that the invoice was incorrect as to the number of days that Dry Down?s equipment was installed. The notation on my personal 2011 calendar indicated removal of equipment on December 6, 2011, which was only three days of use, not the four days invoiced. Using the per day equipment charges shown on the invoice, I believed I was entitled to a reduction of $461. To get Dry Down to release the lien and believing that Dry Down was a reputable firm that would be willing to admit its error, I paid the full invoiced amount ($3887.58) on July 12 2013. I explained to Dry Down that I made this payment only with the understanding that if Dry Down could not provide contemporaneous evidence that the equipment was installed for four days as invoiced, the $461 overcharge would be refunded to me. In an email message dated July 29, 2013, Dry Down's accounting department implicitly conceded to my claim that their equipment was installed in my home for three rather than four days and advised ?$461 has been refunded to your insurance company?. After learning from my insurance agent two weeks later, that no refund was ever received, I contacted Dry Down on August 19 and requested a copy of the cancelled refund check. No response to my request has been received to date (August 28, 2013), leading me to conclude that Dry Down never sent nor intended to send the $461 refund check.

The guys from dry down responded very quickly when we called them to get help cleaning up the flooding in our kitchen after a water valve malfunction in the dishwasher. They came in and immediate began a strong sell that involved ripping up our entire kitchen floor immediately because otherwise we'd have a whole parade of horribles. This was made worse because we were at home with a very new newborn and a toddler - and the guys knew this. A number of times I questioned how quickly the work needed to be done and how extensive the repairs needed to be. They kept pushing and pushing on the work. They also were making jokes when it was obvious that I was very upset at the situation. They also wanted to push contractors they knew to do repair work after they came in to do the drying work. "If you work with us, I can call in my friend who can do xyz work after we've finished". When they finally left the de-humidifier unit, it then took them 1 week to pick it up after we called and called them to come get it. They didn't respond to our calls and I had to escalate to the manager to get them to respond.
Description of Work: Provided one de-humidifier unit. See below for the rest.

I obtained a complete mold inspection from a licensed company and was referred to several vendors for remediation, one of which was Dry Down. I contacted them by email and sent them the complete inspection package including a full report, lab results and very specific scope of work. A representative from Dry Down called and we made an appointment for the next day for someone to come out and give me an estimate for the remediation. I stayed home from work to meet the guy for an estimate. He arrived 20 minutes late and was clueless. He had no idea of what I needed, hadn't seen any of the work. Then to cover his tracks he wanted me to explain to him what I thought was wrong while he speculated about what might have happened. Total waste of time. I contacted the office and the supervisor apologized, told me he would have an estimate to me by the end of the day. I never heard from them again. I'd give them an F but I'm feeling generous.

Hello (deleted member name) I want to apologize for the technician being late 20 min, there is no excuse for tardiness. As we spoke prior to your email, there was no attachment therefore we were under the impression you needed an initial inspection. This is why our tech had asked all those questions, he was trying to do the best possible job for you. If there is any way possible Dry Down can make this right PLEASE let us know and we will take great care of your Mold needs.

We called DryDown early on a weekend morning after noticing a significant amount of water in and around the master bathroom. They were quick to respond and extremely professional. The tech was knowledgeable and explained everything that was being done. This kind of event can be very trying, and the folks at DryDown really made it much easier.
Description of Work: We had water damage in two rooms from an overflowing bathtub. DryDown moved furniture, pulled up the carpets, removed damaged drywall, dried the whole area, and checked for water leakage under the hardwood floor. They would have moved the furniture back to its original location as well. We had to replace the carpet, though, so we just waited for the carpet installers to do that.
