Description of Work: Moore came out to inspect 5 gas heating units. There price for $325 was ok, but when they found a couple of problems with one of the units they would not give me a breakdown of the charges, ie, how much for parts and how much for labor. I priced the parts and found there charges to be exorbitant and/or the same with the labor. they also had an open ended problem to be solved with another visit, which I, of course, turned down feeling that they would charge even more inflated prices. Finally, two of the units needed a relatively small amount of vacuuming and they charged me another service call of $65 to come and look at the furnaces for 20 seconds each. No way would I ever use this group again.

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived on time for the appointment. This was a second opinion visit. I was told my furnace needed to be replaced entirely by another company. Moore Mechanical's technician looked at my furnace and said it looked fine. It just needed the power turned on, a fuse replaced and a new ignitor. Once repaired, the furnace was back up and running great. The cost was very reasonable, especially compared to the cost of a new furnace. The technician then suggested I purchase a "easy-open" furnace filter door which he could install after ordering. I did purchase, he took measurements and returned a week later to install. It looks great and allows me easy access to the filter without having to unscrew a grate on the wall. Overall, I am very pleased with Moore Mechanical and would use them again.

+ -1 moreJob went smoothly. Removed old furnace, replaced with new including new insulated ducts and thermostat. Completely removed old ducts, asbestos, and old furnace.
Description of Work: Our old furnace from the 1930's died last April. I initially had Moore Mechanical come out to re-light/check the furnace. It turned out it had cracks in the welds and needed to be replaced. Tim gave me some quotes of different types of furnaces, etc. They came out on time, removed the old furnace and did asbestos abatement and put in a new furnace in one day! They were awesome. Plus, Tim really liked cats, which was very cool! I would hire this crew back in a second. If you need a new furnace installed, look no further. And believe me, I am really picky about whom I hire to do work in the house. We had another estimate from another firm which was 3000.00 more for the same job. As far as I am concerned, we got a fair deal. They even came back two days later to check on a hose that had not been sealed correctly (slight water leak on the floor). The issue was because of a manufacturer's part that had recently been added. They fixed it free of charge. We are now warm and the furnace is efficient. Wahoo to heat!!!

So they are going to come back and do that later on. The amount we paid now is inclusive of the amount for them to come back and do the heater. We will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: We used Moore Mechanical Heating and Air Conditioning. We last used their services on July 5th. We had them service the air conditioner units. They are going to come back in the fall to check our heater for the winter time.

They gave me a 5% discount because of Angie’s List. The guy initially came out to give me an estimate and he was able to fix it. It cost me next to nothing. He took the estimate fee. He was really fabulous. He was a nice guy. He showed me everything and explained everything to me. It’s worked perfectly ever since he fixed it. I would definitely recommend him and use him again in the future.

About 10 years ago they installed a furnace for me and that furnace has ran well without any problems. I trust their employees who seem to do the job and get it done right the first time.

dryer vent cleaning
+ -1 moreHe showed me the clogged vent, and that was fine. However, my AC and Heating ducting is under the house also, and he told me the taping was coming apart, and the ducting wasn't connecting and it was loosing heat. I had someone else come out and take a look and they told me I have no problem. The serviceman from Moore Mechanical quoted me $1200 to do the repair. I was disappointed in the quote I received from Moore Mechanical, especially after I got the second opinion. They also told me they would send me a receipt in the mail for the dryer duct cleaning. 3 months later, I have not received that receipt yet.
Description of Work: I originally called them out to clean the dryer duct. The dryer duct is under the house and the service man told me that the dryer duct is totally clogged and needed to be replaced. I told him to go ahead and do the work.

+ -1 moreCustomer service was and continues to be fabulous. It was a huge job and a huge expense, but definitely a worthwhile investment for the house. It will be a long time before I need new A/C or heating. They were exceptionally friendly and I really appreciated how nice they were to my dogs too. From time to time I have needed some fine tuning and they have always come right away and sometimes they don't charge anything. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Description of Work: I live in an older home (built 1960). The ductwork had never been replaced. The A/C and heating units were ancient and barely worked. I knew it was time for something new. I got three bids and while Moore Mechanical was not the lowest, their bid was the most complete and thorough. They addressed every need I had and broke down the costs for each product/service. They had three levels of equipment and gave pricing for all three levels. There was no attempt to hard sell. They answered all my questions, but left the final decision to me (as it should be). They did everything they said they would. They did it quickly, professionally and on time. The wait for the installation was about 3 weeks, which seemed reasonable. It was a huge job and took about 2 days to complete. They were great!

It seems only fair that they would give priority to their customers at a time when most companies were flooded with calls (during the heat wave).

Description of Work: WORK INCLUDED THE ROUTING OF A/C CONDITIONERS LINES TO EXISTING FORCED AIR HEATING UNIT, ALONG WITH THE A/C CONDITIONER. ALSO ALL ELECTRICAL, NECESSARY PERMITS, AND FINAL INSPECTION.
