I inherited a washer and dryer and Appliance Center's name and number were on a sticker on the dryer. Since they had previously serviced the dryer I thought I would give them a try on the washer which was making a horrible noise. I requested an appointment for a time as early as possible and I specifically told the scheduler that I needed the technician to be there as early as possible because I had another appointment I had to leave the house to go to. I was told a service technician could be at my home between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The person making the appointment said they could not guarantee the time of arrival but would try to get the technician there earlier rather than later because of my other appointment. The technician did not arrive at all during the promised time period. Neither the technician nor the office scheduler called to say the serviceman would be late and when he did not arrive by 1 p.m. I called the office number and was told that the technician was in San Dimas, which is 25-30 miles from my home, and that my service call was his next job. I let them know I was not happy that they technician did not come when promised because I had another appointment to go to, and I also told them I was not pleased because I did not get a telephone call to say that the technician would not arrive during the promised time - I had a 2pm appointment and had to leave the house. I waited until 1:30 and then had to leave for my other appointment, leaving my daughter to meet with the repairman. This was an inconvenience to her because she had just arrived home after working a 4:45 a.m.-noon shift. The technician started work on my washing machine at 1:40 p.m. and finished at 2:25 p.m.I was charged $159 for less than one hour of labor - I was told that the charge was by the job, not by the hour, and this job involved taking the washer completely apart to replace the broken part, and then putting it back together again. For my inconvenience of waiting more than the promised 3 hours, they gave me a $20 discount on the labor! Obviously they are not too concerned about customer service or keeping customers happy.I do not plan on using this company again as they are too expensive and don't keep their word about when they will arrive.

They gave a 4 hour window to show up. They called at the end of the 3rd hour to tell me the guy was coming. He did not show up until the end of the 4th hour. The guy was pleasant. He took a look at the cook top and estimated a higher amount of $170 than the over the phone range of $90-130. He took one hour to complete. When I asked about the high estimate, he said it was based on the job not by the hour.
Description of Work: Cook top gas valve was broken. I bought the valve from Home Depot Parts and Accessories. The service person installed the valve.
