gnostic The tech showed up on time, and gave his best effort to find out the cause of the problem. He did not run a camera down the line, which would have revealed the cause of the line backing up, because he said there was still water in the pipe. He later e-mailed me a proposal that included digging a 9 foot deep trench for a "trenchless" pipe removal, and apparently involved redoing the entire sewer system. At this point I got a second opinion from another contractor. I went with the second contractor, after his plumber ran a camera down the line as his first diagnostic test. I found out that part of a fitting was cracked, allowing the line to sage so that it no longer ran downhill. This was easily repaired in about four hours, by only replacing sections of the system that needed repair.

These were not HUGE repairs, but was included in the $49 inspection fee. When we have another plumbing issue, repair, or work we would definitely give these guys another shot at the work since they did not upsell us on the 2 leaks, which I believe some others would have done or forced us to negotiate with them. I was not actually there, but writing the review based on my mom's satisfaction.

I've used Albert Nahman Plumbing before, and was happy with the service, so I called them to install a new toilet for me. The existing toilet was about 30 years old and EBMUD was offering a $50 rebate to install a new high efficiency toilet with water usage of 1.28 GPF. Nahman sent a plumber named Stanley to do the work. He is very knowledgeable, very neat, and took care to make sure the installation was done right. He removed the old toilet, removed the old wax ring and caulking, installed a new wax ring and supply line, made sure the new toilet and tank were squared up to the wall, and caulked around the base of the new toilet. He took steps to clean the work area, and left the job in great shape. Besides being a talented plumber, Stanley is also a nice guy. The only negative about Albert Nahman Plumbing is their cost of service. It's really too high. However, I did apply two Angie's List coupons which lowered the cost by $80. And with the EBMUD $50 rebate, that reduced the overall cost to about $846. You can buy a new Toto Drake 2 toilet from Amazon for about $330 (not including sales tax). But the additional expense was worth it to me since I know the installation was done correctly, and Nahman provides a 5-year warranty on the toilet rather than the 1-year warranty from the manufacturer.

Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating sent a personable, professional plumber to not only replace the pipe with new material but clean up the mess as well. When another problem arose from the intial issue, this plumber returned right away to make additional repairs BUT WITH NO additional cost. He was punctual and polite, and provided complete explanation of what was the issue and how to solve it. The cost analysis was VERY helpful in seeing what the charges were for AND I appreciated the warranty. This company DEFINITELY has my recommendation and my future business.

I have used this company for many years and paid to be a member of their "Diamond Club". However, the cost of $725.00 to install (just labor, no equipment) two bathroom sink faucets was ridiculous. It took less than two hours. I was dumb to pay this and should have said no, but wanted to be able to use my bathroom. I don't mind paying a little more for good work, but over $300.00 per hour for labor is too much.

My daughters disposable diapers got clogged in our toilet and it prevented us from using our one toilet and from doing any laundry. Unfortunately this happened on New Year's Day. The company was the only one who would return my calls. Plus for them. They gave me a quote for around $300 and said someone would be out the next day. Fast forward to the next day, the technician arrived and was very professional. We assessed the situation together and the whole time he was very careful about wearing feet protection and not making a mess as we walked in and out of our house. After not being able to find the main line outside, we looked behind our washer to find what appeared to be the pipe we were looking for, only problem was it was rusted shut. At that point the decision was either to have him cut open the pipe and replace it or remove my toilet and snake the main line down to the sewer which was going to push up the price significantly. We decided to remove the toilet. I was very displeased with how much the whole service cost and I feel like if I had called another company they would have done it for much less money. The technician was very helpful and nice and did everything he could think of to not remove the toilet, but at the end of the day we had to.

They did good work installing water heater, price was little high but i think it's worth it. thanks

It went well, quick and easy.

I have an enclosed pool. I had the enclosure redone. As it turned out, one of the screws that was holding it in the wall cut a hole in one of the pipes. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with the pool, fortunately. But it meant that they had to chip away cement and things like that and get that redone. I had first tried to look how do you find a leak in the pool unless they take measurements and this and that. But these people had a much much better way and a much more accurate way of figuring out where the leak and the problem was. I talked to others and they made suggestions, but this company found it fairly quickly. They came out and then had to fix it. They had to work with cement set up or something. Basically, it was a day and a half. Their price was very reasonable. The quality was excellent.

They performed the job smoothly, and we are satisfied with their work. Our toilet was very old and removing the bolts took some extra attention. In addition to replacing the toilet, they also replaced the water supply line. They're not the cheapest provider, but they provide good quality service. We had pre-purchased the $140 coupon for $200 worth of service, and we paid $334 at the time of installation.

They're very good. Their price was okay. They were just very good, very professional, very responsive, very timely. They were very responsive and professional. I like the fact that they called right back. I like the fact that they came when they said they would come. I like the fact that they did a good job and it seemed like a fair price. I do not remember feeling like I was cheated.

It wasn't because there was any problem with the provider. We found someone closer to us that could do it. We didn't use them, so it isn't useful or fair to post this review - Angies List keeps asking for a review, but there is no button to say "we didn't use them and cannot give an accurate rating since we have no experience with them."

The technician (like all Albert Nahmann technicians) was professinoal, friendly, and knowledgeable. She was a fairly petite woman (as I am), but was well able to haul the new toilet (2-piece) upstairs and get the old one out. She did a great job with the toilet installation and shower-head installation. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was that she didn't use the company's "StraightForward Pricing" guide at all. It seems to me that switching out a toilet and installing a shower head would be pretty standard things, but she didn't use any of the standard pricing levels on their invoice form, instead writing in different prices in the "custom request" section of the form. I tried to call the office a couple days later for clarification; they returned my call when I was in a meeting and couldn't answer, and that was the end of that. I didn't have time to follow up again. But I'm less inclined to use this company again. Also, I don't like that they charge $69 to drive through the Caldecott Tunnel from Berkeley, particularly since one of my neighbors seems to be one of their technicians (truck always in front of nearby house).

Plumber came out on 2/27/15 to assess why our water heater was not working. He tried a new gas hose, then determined that it was the pilot lighting unit. He ordered the new part, which would be overnighted to us on Monday. I called once the part was received on Tues. and they arranged for the plumber to return late that same day. Part was installed and water heater has worked without fail since.

I always had excellent service form them. The last service I had, the first person who came honored all the coupon that I have. But the second person who came said that it?s against company?s policy to honor all the coupons that I have. So he called their office and the office said that since it was promised to me that I can use all the coupons so they can go ahead and honor it. I really like working with them. I think their price is competitive.

First trip was for the diagnosis. The Plumber assessed that the sump pump was old and underpowered. He recommended a replacement with a pump that would not sporadically work and that would have more "push" to the ejection. The second trip was for the replacement of the sump pump and performed by another plumber. The quoted pump was not going to fit in the space under the utility sink and the new recommended pump was going to cost more than the quote. Furthermore, the larger (taller) pump would require the hole in the bottom shelf under the sink to be enlarged to remove the old sump and drop the new one in place. At the end, the cost was more expensive that I expected, the first plumber hadn't thought through the entire replacement process, but the second plumber was excellent and professional. I had a coupon through Angie's list that offset a little, but as a one time investment, I have a new powerful sump pump that is going to go the distance, and I don't have any more leaks.

First of all Carlos was great. He called to say he was available before the scheduled time so was more than prompt- he was early! He was clear about what the problem was and what repairs were needed. Once completed he also gave me a reference for a water damage company saving me the time from searching for a company to give me an estimate. I call on them when needed.

It turned out really well. It ended up going over but I knew that it would. I was aware of that when I bought the deal. Their knowledge and customer service stood out. They ended up having to come out the second time and they didn't charge me for that. It was pretty good. I was really happy with their work.

Of course, plumbing disasters invariably occur at the most inopportune times. Such was the case late Sunday night when the dishwasher tail piece, p-trap and riser tube failed and several gallons of water flooded the cabinet under the sink.Early Monday morning I called Albert Nahmans and, from the moment I spoke to Carl, everything went like clockwork. I explained the situation and he managed to set up a same day appointment at 8:30 AM. At 8:30 the technician Michael Castle was at my door. Michael was friendly, courteous, professional and clearly expert at his profession. He replaced the failed pipes under the sink and while he was finishing, I asked him, time permitting, if he could take care of some other plumbing issues I was concerned about but had deferred or could no longer manage to fix myself. (In for a penny in for a pound - I thought). Michael checked his next appointment with dispatch and had some time to fix things in my house which he did with good grace and humor.. He replaced the wax seal for the downstairs toilet. He inspected the downstairs plumbing for the sink and, this is where his expertise was revealed. He noticed by touch that the downstairs p-trap made of brass was badly corroded internally and at risk of failure. We replaced the trap with a conventional metal trap as a solution. He also rebuilt the sink and shower faucets in my upstairs bathroom and replaced the washers which leaked when turned on . Would I use Albert Nahmans plumbing & heating again. Absolutely! Would I recommend them to other people? Absolutely!

The next day Michael came back and used the longer snake but it still did not clear the drain. Michael gave us an estimate to re-route the drain and clear the pipe. We called our home warranty to see if the work would be covered and they sent out another plumber to try to perform a hydraulic cleaning. When that could not be performed, they used a traditional snake and they ended up clearing the drain. We waited for about a week to contact (via E-mail) Albert Nahman to let them know that we had cleared the drain using a traditional snake. We were very surprised when Mr. Nahman himself contacted us to find out what happened. After a brief discussion, Mr. Nahman agreed to return the money for the service call. Many companies pride themselves on the service they provide... many companies talk the talk but they do not walk the walk. We have used Albert Nahman before and have been really happy with their work... with this latest experience, we will definitely use them again, because they truly stand behind their work. Their professionalism and customer care set them apart from the rest. Overall grade - A for service and professionalism - B for work performed.

Horrible customer service over by phone. I am not sure Diamond Certification or "A" rating from Angie's list for this business makes any sense. I won't do business with them for sure. Quotes are extremely expensive as well.

The plumber that came out named Alan was magnificent and a very knowledge, helpful person, but the price he quoted me for two hours of labor was $950.
