I used these guys before with good results. This time, they were terrible. Said I needed an air conditioning compressor and with parts and labor is was going to cost $1700. No info on cost of the part or breakdown on labor. Said he had to go through his supplier and they did not have the part. I landed it taking it to the dealership and paid $900 and the work was done in a days time.

Initial service went well. When the car repeated with the same problem, They had my car all day and didn't fix anything. They said there was nothing wrong. Well, now the same problem. The work was warranted, so will take back and see how I will be treated. Let me say this, if it was not under warranty, I definitely would not take it back. UPDATE: Outstanding service on return of failed part. Had ac service performed and new ac compressor installed with all associated work. The new ac compressor failed. They honored their warranty and repaired the ac system expeditiously and I left satisfied with the work. Thank you.

Gary made the repair process easy. His quote was thorough. Work was completed on time. I strongly recommend.

I recently purchased an as-is used vehicle from an out of town dealership. It started hearing this horrific wheel noise from the front and it sounded like the brakes were grinding metal to metal. I was afraid to drive the vehicle concerned about safety although the dealership had told me that the brakes were new when I purchase it just a couple of months ago. I drove into Superior Automotive on a Friday afternoon and they were busy. Gary (Manager) made time to diagnose the issue and provided me with a detailed explanation of the most likely cause as well as how to avoid having the same problem again. Gary was able to repair the issue for me in the same afternoon despite being backed up with other work. He did a complete courtesy inspection of the entire vehicle since I had just purchased it. He double-checked all work performed to my car and test drove it twice to be certain the repairs were completed correctly the first time. Very cool because there's nothing worse than going to back to an auto-repair shop for the same problem you started with. Gary also identified other minor problems and provided suggestions to correct them before they turn into costly repairs. The staff was very professional, the shop was clean and organized. Thanks to Gary I know a lot more about the car I purchased than I ever thought possible. No more brake or wheel noise, the car is very quiet and nice to drive again! I love it! I will definitely continue to take my car to Superior Automotive.

The price was accurate for what they did for me. They treated me pretty good. I think they did above and beyond what they said they were going to do. It took longer than I thought but they did more work than they thought too.

Brought vehicle in at lunchtime and met with Gary (manager). Had a look at it and told me the possible causes of the fuel leak. Offered to give me a ride back to work but I had made other arrangements. Gary called around 3pm to let me know that they thought they had it fixed but while driving it discovered that it wasn't fixed and that it was unlikely they would be able to complete repairs before end of the day. Asked if I needed a ride home or anything. Car was left overnight and was ready to go after work the next day. During the whole process, Gary was very helpful and kept me informed about what was happening.

Overall they did good service.

BAD: These guys charged me $75 to check battery and alternater even though I told them that Oriley Auto Parts checked it for free and there was no problem with them. It took two days to do it. At the end, I had to ask for my old starter, it took half hour to find it. I asked them if they could give me some discount as a regular customer, they declined. I'm never going back to them again. GOOD: These guys give you the ride home and pick you up once the job is done. No complaints on the quality of the work. Mechanic was very pleasant. BUTTOMLINE: if I'm paying that money, I'll go to the dealer. There I don't need to ask for the old parts. Especially starter because you get $50 from the parts seller for it. These guys just wanted to keep it for themselves.

Since I have not yet got the problem fixed, I hope to get a happy Ending,at Selma Isuzu! I can let you know how that goes.

Got checked and Gary recommended to perform certain tasks. I went back the next day. Car was done in a timely manner.

Great service, will continue to use them on a regular basis. Very quick service. So far both times I've taken my car in for repairs, I've dropped it off around 10am and it's finished before the end of the day. They also offer pick-up/drop-off service (the only reason I was going to the Ford dealer) for those who need a ride.

New in Bakersfield; preparing for 2000 mile roadtrip. Diagnostic confirmed suspicions that car needed to be replaced. Without this complete, honest and truthful diagnostic and Rich's integrity and credibility I could have been stuck on side of the road. Very pleased with work and integrity of people.

I would highly recommend them if your car needs some TLC. I will be going back for a smog check and misc other repair for my truck. It is hard to find honest shops these days, that is why I am writing here about these guys.

Handled expertly, fair price, as usual.

The radiator did need to be replaced (86 Isuzu pickup), but they did a compression check and determined that the tuneup would not help the rough running. They do not do the type of work needed to fix the compression issue, but recommended a shop that does. Thus, they saved me money by not going ahead with the tuneup, and did a great job on the radiator repair. The staff is pleasant and respectful, and honest.
