When their prices and promises seemed too good be true, I probably should have been a bit more skeptical... 1.) Tom. Our assigned project manager began our odyssey by printing our designs the incorrect size, several times. It took him several attempts to get the drawings to the city. He was floundering. 2.) tom hired a framer/builder that did the following: stole money from us - by having us reimburse him for supplies that we didn't need. he returned the items for refunds. It was a neat scam. Project manager was absent (or perhaps part of the scam? - I STILL don't know). He was buying himself tools as well. He ran up over 2000 dollars before WE caught him. He also chain smoked the entire time and left the site a pig sty. Garbage was everywhere while he worked. to a level that was unreal. It looked like a dump. it was disgusting. 3.) after framer was caught stealing, our project manager TOM, asked us if we would allow him back to finish out his contract. AFTER he was caught stealing. This made me wonder if Tom was in on it. If he wasn't, it just shows how poor his judgement is. This was beyond insulting. Tom also blamed me for "chasing him off" referring to the thief! (because I insisted that a thief be removed from the job site). This framer, was tasked with bringing in the plumber and the electrician. It gets worse there. 4.) Everlast won't show us his license. the plumber/electrician did BOTH utilities. And did them both incorrectly. We have had FIVE LEAKS from the ceiling. After having a licensed plumber assess, it turns out we have wrongly installed sinks. Wrong toilet rings. Wrong drain from tub. Wrong pipes are used under the house in every elbow connect. Wrong size gas pipes for our water heater. Everything was done poorly and not to code. We had to change all the visible plumbing. Nothing is tethered. 5.) the same dude is the electrician. He left wires everywhere, used the wrong wires for virtually every aspect of the job. There is bare wires under the house. It's everywhere. Nothing is tethered here either. Both a licensed electrician and plumber looked at the work and were baffled. 6.) finishes. All the paint needs to be redone. Every single is door mangled. The hardware looks bad virtually EVERYWHERE in the house. We got all new cabinets in the kitchen, they have been drilled and caulked in several places. Brand new cabinets. All the carpentry was done by amateurs that were under qualified. When examined by a licensed carpenter, I was told that it is obvious that the people working here didn't even have the correct tools for carpentry. So all the cuts and installations look "do it yourself." 7.) the tile installation was poor. Nothing was sealed. Grout is unclean and unprofessional. Back splashes need to be replaced in both bathrooms. 8.) the house is now sinking on window push out. We added a second story and then the house began to sink. Everlast has claimed they didn't work in that area and deferred the blame per usual. However, the house is cracking along the line of old and new construction, so it's fairly insulting to not even be willing to entertain that the job could have caused it. no on would go under the house to confirm or deny the issue. they said they would bring in an engineer. that was two months ago. 9.) the stairs aren't to code and are unsafe. Things really began to slow down as the problems piled up, and we were all but abandoned by Everlast. Tom, our inept project manager blamed everyone else for all the issues, and stopped answering the phone. "Quality control" was assigned to our job in the SEVENTH MONTH (when we were told that that he would be there all along). He didn't even go under the house once when we showed him it was sinking. Neither did tom. Neither did Ari, the "boss." all three blamed the "floor guy." GTFO. No one was willing to even get dirty to see the issues. Underneath my house is a quagmire of code violations. Not one person at Everlast went down there to look. Not once. We are in our eighth month of a 3.5 month contract. we are looking at a huge amount of money to correct their mistakes. This is basically a worst case scenario. I find it bizarre that this company has such polarizing reviews here. My guess is that they are spread too thin or have too many jobs. or that the good reviews are fake, like them. the negative reviews here, match my EXPERIENCE to a tee, only that i spent way more money so aim way angrier! When u spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, you expect a certain amount of professionalism. they are literally hustlers. They left a bunch of sub contracted sub contractors here, with ZERO management. they had zero in house labor. everyone had their hand in the pot. I was on site the entire project and had to manage this train wreck myself. In retrospect, I cannot believe I let it go so far, but when your entire house is demo'd, u feel vulnerable. We felt like there was no going back. With so much money invested in them we kept hoping beyond hope it would come together, that we could see it through. I wish there was a grade lower than Fail.. This company is operating under false pretenses. It's a **** shame. I hope no one else makes the same mistake.
Description of Work: they were under contract to build us a second story and remodel the house. they failed.
