We definitely received 5-star service when Will and Alex came out to work on my house.They were very professional and easy to work with. Will has been a plumber fro 25+ years, and his expertise is reflected by the quality work he produces. Will and Alex did not mess around, and they got a big job done in one day. I am not only going to use them for future services, but I will be recommending them to other people.

The repair had to be done twice as affected area started leaking again. The plumbers had to replace bracket with a bigger one that covered a bigger area of the pipe. The provider complied with warranty of the first job. I was happily surprised by the level of professionalism of the plumbing company. There is someone that actually calls you to let you know if plumber is on time or not and expected time of arrival. They manage expectations very well.

It is a rare thing to find a company that truly pride itself on professionalism, integrity, and customer service and Baker and Sons Plumbing & Rooter is that company!! We had a slab leak at our home in Whittier and were so worried we could be facing a huge and unplanned expense in leak location, pipe rerouting and slab/wall repairs. Long story short, Will and Van from Baker and Sons came out this morning, located the leak very quickly, did the repair and were very respectful. They minimized the time that plumbing was not accessible, and notified us ahead of time. Will and Van did everything possible to make sure everything went well and that we were not inconvenienced. I am very impressed, grateful, and highly recommend this plumbing company!

Had the best experience with Barker and Sons Plumbing & Rooter. We found out from the gas company we had a gas leak and they shut our gas off. Gas company told us to call a licensed plumber. Found Barker and Sons gas leak detection and repair video on YouTube and it was very informative. They had awesome reviews for plumbers in Orange County. Contacted them and they responded very quickly. Will the plumber came out and made me feel at ease and did gas leak detection, found the leak and repaired it. Will was very professional, courteous and explained everything so we could easily understand. The whole process was seamless and we are beyond thrilled with the service received.. Barker and Sons Plumbing & Rooter saved the day. I was not a happy camper when I came to a realization that I had to replace my sewer line as it old and full of roots. I did what most do and hit the Internet and started researching plumbing companies near my home with a great reputation. Barker and Sons Plumbing was that company and definitely plumber of choice online. When Frank, the senior plumber came out to give me an estimate he was was very accommodating and informative. He sent the estimate right over from his iPad along with the company license and insurance info. Everyone I spoke to on the telephone was friendly, courteous and professional and communicated well by email and telephone. Clear communication, no guesswork whatsoever. Frank and Keving worked with my schedule and kept everything very neat on site. I was very impressed with how respectful they were with my home and landscaping. The job as done with minimal noise and minimal interruption to my schedule and life. Thank you Frank and Kevin for doing a wonderful job handling my sewer pipe lining and replacement. Everyone I came into contact with seemed very down-to-earth and took pride in their work. This company is staffed with excellent people. I highly recommend Barker and Sons Plumbing.

Not having any reference to go by for emergency plumbing, I did my own research via Angie’s List (a FANTASTIC website in itself!). Reading some of the reviews from various companies, Barker & Sons – Plumbing & Heating stood out like a beacon! This company’s first, middle, and last asset is Customer Service - by far! It started with a phone call where Missy was most gracious in answering all of my questions regarding my Water Heater and the size of it, and the puddle of water beneath it. The fact that I was able to have two Technicians to my house within 30 minutes was the epitome in choosing this company to handle my needs. Barker & Sons were so courteous, the Technicians that showed up were able to assess the damage (a 15-year-old Water Heater that had died), answered my questions, and was able to perform the repair-work right then and there! I signed the contract which included the following: I had a new 40-Gallon Water Heater installed at $1,456.89; purchased a 30-month membership which REALLY cut down the cost of materials and labor at $149.00; and a house Main Water Service Valve replacement at $316.70 which brought the total to $1,922.59 for my emergency call. Will and Van knew exactly what to do without hesitation. Since I had given Missy the wrong size tank of my Water Heater (50-gallon instead of a 40-gallon), whilst Van did the removing & vacuuming the dirt & leaked water of the old tank, Will had driven to the office to exchange tank sizes and then return to help Van with the installation. After the new Water Heater was installed, I had mentioned that my home’s Main Water Service Valve was frozen from too many coats of paint, and being an older home, I had asked if that could be replaced as well. Will stated that it would not be a problem to replace it as long as they were there. It took the both of them four hours from arrival to clean-up. Missy, Will, and Van, were the personification of what the company represents! Barker & Sons – Plumbing & Heating’s standard not only sets-the-bar, it IS the bar! Misty was incredibly friendly and helpful on our initial call, and John, our service tech was fantastic, friendly, and very honest. He performed a very thorough job with our troublesome pipes and gave us excellent advice on how to care for our plumbing. We highly recommend them and will definitely call them again for future emergencies and projects.

My drains/sewer started to back up on the morning of my daughter's wedding. Luckily it was the last person showering! I called Barker & Sons and explained we had a large crowd coming for brunch the next morning. We scheduled a time for them. Next morning Missy called to confirm and let me know Frank was en route. I had met Frank a few years before when they Hydro-jetted my house (big problem with tree roots). Long story short-they are somewhat more expensive than the typical "Rooter" guys;however, I know they are reliable, competent and ethical. Those are qualities I don't see in "Rooter" plumbers. If there's an underlying issue causing the problem they give you multiple solutions knowing home-owners need choices and plans and budgets for plumbing problems. They don't do the "sign today and we will knock off xx dollars" over a bogus quote which happens with less ethical companies. When they leave I have peace of mind-a rare feeling from other plumbers or plumbing outfits.

Everything went great! Dominic, who was both very personable AND talented, re-seated the first toilet and discovered root infestation in the drain of the second toilet. The roots were pulled out and both toilets are now working like a charm! Would definitely use Barker & Sons again.

I called at 4:00 PM on a weekday after my toilet got clogged and sewage started to back up into the shower. I of course wanted to get it taken care of ASAP, and Missy got a team there in about 2 hours. She was courteous and understanding that time was an issue. Will and Van were very professional, took care of the job, and cleaned up the work area when they were done. I would definitely call Barker and Sons again.

Fast, professional, courteous, and fairly priced

They're very courteous. It looks like they have good workmanship but they're outrageously expensive. That turned out to be a $7000 bill. According to them they had to go under the house to change the pipe. They came out about two weeks ago and they replaced a couple of drains, they replaced a couple of the fittings that were for inside. It should have 50 or 60 bucks and he charged me $400 to replace a couple of pipes. It took them like a half an hour. They are clean and courteous but the only thing is they're way way expensive.

Bill inspected the leak and then provided me with detailed explanation of what needs to be done.

I have not written a review before but I thought I would this time. It was a very good experience working with them. I had a problem where our water had to be shut off on a Saturday afternoon and I was afraid we'd have to go the weekend without water. Missy was very nice and professional in our initial phone conversation setting up the appointment. Frank & Van came out (on time) and were able to fix the problem within the hour. They were very nice and professional as well and I would absolutely recommend using them.

Great. It was not easy but he kept at it until the clog was gone. Another plumber from another company was unable to unclog the drain and gave up and told us that it must be an airlock problem. I guess Barker & Sons proved them wrong thank goodness. I will absolutely use them again.

We just had our second plumbing service call completed by Barker and Sons Plumbing. We unexpectedly had to replace a utility sink in order to accommodate new laundry machines. It was a time-sensitive situation and very much an unplanned expense. Will from Barker and Sons Plumbing gave truly top notch professional service. He arrived to give an estimate and explained all of the details and options very clearly, including helping assess which sink to install. He tried to relieve the pressure from the situation so I could make a well-informed decision and then very efficiently completed the work the same day. He worked efficiently and even went above the call of duty to test his work extensively. Most of all, I was impressed with his polite professionalism, clear communication and great attitude. Clearly Barker and Sons takes pride in their work and serving customers beyond expectations.

Why we called Barker & Sons: We had intermittent problem with one of our toilets ? the upstairs toilet in the guest bathroom. It would flush fine but after a while the water would run for a short time to refill part of the tank. While this problem was annoying ? and resulted in water being wasted ? the toilet was still usable. We have fixed this problem before. It is usually a flapper not closing completely or a chain twisted or broken. As a result, we bought and installed a new flapper and chain. When that did not fix the problem we consulted Angie?s list for a reputable plumber. That is how we found Barker & Sons plumbing. We were told that we would be charged $39.00 for a technician to come and diagnose the problem. We were told that we would then be advised of what repairs would be required and what they would cost before any work was done. What Barker & Sons did: 1. First Visit: The first technician to come out was Bill. He looked at the toilet and immediately told Sharon that he saw the problem and could fix it by replacing what was in the tank. He said that we would be embarrassed to we see how easy the fix was. He asked Sharon for a paperclip which he clipped onto the top of the overflow tube ? where apparently the original clip had broken off. (You could actually see a small portion of plastic missing from the top of that tube.) He attached the refill tube to the paperclip and then laughed. He then removed our flapper and the flush valve seat ? both of which had been very recently purchased and installed ? and replaced it with an ?orange flapper? without any flush valve seat. (Frankly, we don?t know why he did this because the flapper and flush valve seat did not appear to be part of the problem ? even according to Bill.) He then offered a ?free? water pressure check for the house, which we declined because we had recently re-piped the whole house and knew everything was fine. He even tried to convince Sharon that the type of pipe we had used ? pex ? would be eaten up by the chemicals in Orange County water and therefore I needed a whole house filter. Again we declined and told him to just finish and leave. At that point he presented us with a bill for $128. 2. Complaints about first visit: Shortly after his visit Sharon talked to Chuck ? the owner of Barker & Sons. Sharon was very upset that we were charged $128 for a make-shift home remedy we could have done ourselves. Chuck said that we were charged for actually replacing the internal parts ? not some quick fix home remedy. However, rather than adjusting the bill to include only the $39.00 for the visit Chuck said he would send someone out to actually do the work that the bill covered. 3. Second Visit: The 2nd technician to come out was Mike. He said that he had been instructed to replace the mechanism inside the tank. He said that he had been instructed to replace the equipment on the inside of the tank ? which is what the $128 charge supposedly covered. However, after he left, we discovered that he only replaced the fill valve and put a proper clip on the overflow tube ? leaving the original break on the plastic. Mike then told Sharon that because the toilet was old the bolts connecting the tank to the bowl would eventually leak. (However, we had never had a leak from that toilet tank bowl.) He kept telling Sharon that what she really needed was a brand-new toilet. 4. Finding a leak from Mike?s work: A couple of days later we went into the guest bathroom and discovered water leaking all over the floor underneath the toilet tank ? something that it never happened before Mike?s visit. Sharon called the next morning and Mike was sent out again to repair the toilet. 5. Third Visit: Mike returned and said he would fix it. He replaced the bolts that attached the tank to the bowl and said he put a new gasket in the outlet to toilet hole. He told us we should put food coloring in the tank water will and if I sought in the toilet bowl then I would go there was a leak. He again told Sharon that we needed a new toilet and that if a leak such as that occurred it would be a sign to get one. Mike even told Sharon the labor cost of a complete toilet replacement and advised her to purchase a new one at some place like Home Depot because it would be cheaper than what the plumber would charge. Mike left without giving us any paperwork to document the repair. 6. Complete toilet failure after Mike?s second visit: Sometime after Mike?s 2nd visit Sharon heard water running from that toilet. She discovered that water was continually draining from the tank into the bowl ? the water never shut off. We discovered that the chain had not been properly attached to the flapper and had fallen off ? blocking the flapper from closing completely. (One would think that a plumber would know how to properly attach a chain to the flapper so that it would stay on.)

Both visits were prompt and professional. The first one came and did really good repairs on the Kitchen sink drains and fixed a long standing problem quickly. Second visit, he diagnosed the problem using a camera in the pipe. He did not do the work, as the 600 dollar job was done by the HOA maintenance, but will definitely use again. I felt bad that there was no money for them in the second call, but by virtue of being great to work with I will definitely use again for my next plumbing issue.

My house has a few idiosyncrasies and the sharp angle that the pipe took prevented the camera from peeking at the break. Barker and Sons gave me a discount although of course the total was way, way more than I ever wanted to sink into the ground. Money down the drain, quite literally and nothing to show for it--but that's not the plumbers' fault. They were fast, clean, polite, and professional. I have hired this company on several previous occasions and was always impressed by their responsiveness and competence. Trust me, after renovating my home and embarking on a very expensive hardscape and landscape remodeling project this year, I can say that very few contractors and craftsmen are up to snuff. Go through Angie's List; don't take shortcuts. If you do, you will be sorry in the end. Barker and Son delivers.

Frank was extremely courteous and meticulous. He explained what he was doing, including trying the easy fixes first, and then escalating only if necessary. He was able to resolve the clog without having to remove the toilet, and seemed genuinely happy for us that nothing more serious was involved. Nothing but good things to say about Frank and Barker & Sons. Will use again and recommend to others in OC.

HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL PLUMBING COMPANY!! This is my story we had another plumber tell us we had a broken sewer pipe because he snaked our line and pulled out clay. He said this could be a costly repair but we needed to have a video of the pipe to verify this and he didn't provide this service. So we called Barker and Sons Plumbing, which had given us excellent service in the past with our tankless water heater. Dominic came out to give us a sewer camera inspection and sewer cleaning. He showed us that there was no breaks or cracks in our pipe and the "clay" that the original plumber found was likely buildup in the pipe. Dominic had to remove our toilet to do the video and put it back. He didn't charge us anything for the camera inspection because it is free with a drain service. My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised. It's been almost three months since Barker and Sons did the video, and we've had no plumbing problems. They were right. We recommend Barker and Sons Plumbing highly. They are real professionals who are highly knowledgeable, honest and a delight to do business with.
