Called Wolff in the morning at about 8 AM for service on a ten year old A/C unit that had experienced some difficulty the previous day. They sent a technician out about 2 hours later, which was excellent on the response. Turned out that the fan motor needed to be replaced because bearings were worn. Unit was operational, but I didn't want to take the chance that it would fail unexpectedly. Was verbally given a price "of around 400.00 plus 59.00 for the service charge". The work was done in a professional manner. Was surprised when presented with an invoice for $546.00 which I thought was excessive. The experience dampened my impression of Wolff mechanical in spite of all that went right with the experience. I would not hesitate to use them in the future if it were not for the feeling of being overcharged.

"WOLFF MECHANICAL IS CONTACTING HIM REGARDING THIS CHARGE. APPARENTLY THE TECH ORIGINALLY QUOTED A FIGURE OF ABOUT $400. WHICH WAS IN ACCURATE HE DID NOT LOOK AT HIS PRICE BOOK. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN $478. PLUS A DIAGNOSTIC OF $59. SO HE WAS CHARGED THE CORRECT PRICE ALTHOUGH IT IS OUR POLICY THAT TECHS QUOTE ACTUAL PRICES OUT OF THEIR BOOKS PRIOR TO DOING REPAIRS, THIS TECH DID NOT FOLLOW PROCEDURE. WE ARE CURRENTLY REFUNDING HIM THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHAT HE WAS CHARGED AND WHAT HE WAS QUOTED. OUR TECH MADE A MISTAKE AND WE STAND BEHIND THE PRICE HE GAVE THE CUSTOMER IN THE FIRST PLACE SO THE CUSTOMER IS RECEIVING A REFUND. I JUST WOULD HAVE LIKED HIM TO CONTACT ME AS SOON AS THIS HAPPENED AND I COULD HAVE FIXED IT SOONER."

It's the 3rd of July and the air conditioner went out - blowing hot air. Doug came on time and filled with coolant and we are cool again. Great service and friendly staff from answering phone to tech (Doug) that performed service. I never thought I would get someone out the day before the holiday to fix it and thought it would be a costly repair - but it was quick and a great price. Thank you Wolff Mechanical for the great customer service and speedy work - you made my holiday.

I have been a customer for several years and purchase the annual ESA (Energy Savings Agreement) package for $125.00 per house. Two of the major benefits include a 15% discount on parts and priority scheduling. Wolff Mechanical has always lived up to the terms of the ESA agreement and has consistently provided excellent service. The front office (I believe Lisa Wolff) is responsive, courteous and aims to please. The only gripe I have had was when the job is complete the invoice just shows a flat rate for the parts & labor. If the company is going to use the 15% discount on parts as a selling point for the ESA they should break it down on the invoice so that the customer at least sees the value of paying for an annual service agreement. I also feel that the part manufacturer's name and serial # of the parts should be included on the invoice. I spoke with Lisa about this and she felt that I had a valid point. The job was completed to my satisfaction.

A very disappointing experience!! First technician refused to go up on roof of 2-story townhouse, which admittedly was not a routine climb a ladder situation. The design required climbing up to a balcony on a ladder and then pulling up the ladder to position it to reach the flat roof. Two others had done it recently--the home inspector and original installer of the HVAC--without difficulty. Wolff sent their best man--Jeff--at the end of the day. he had no problem climbing to the roof and inspecting the A/C. However, the dispatcher did not tell him to bring the special pleated filters requested. Rather than try to schedule a re-visit, I went to ACE Hardware, bought the filters and replaced them myself. Jeff did a good job as far as inspecting the A/C, but the whole experience was stressful and inefficient.

The company told me they would be there between 1-3pm, and they came earlier than that. They replaced the switch and was here and gone in 20 minutes. They was a very nice and courteous guy named Brian. He recommended some work that wasn't needed now but may want to replace in the future if I wanted.

It was a good experience. Angie's list recommendations were very helpful in finding a company, especially considering the large number of companies in the Yellow Pages. A technician was on a call in the vicinity when I contacted the company, and we were scheduled to be next call for that technician. The technician showed in about an hour and was knowledgeable and personable. The replacement fan motor was in-stock in his truck, and the work was completed within two hours of the original call.

In the middle of the summer, my A/C stopped working. It kept freezing over and we would be forced to turn it off and let it defrost before we turned it on again. Going without an A/C for even a few hours in AZ in July with a 4 month old is impossible. Naturally we needed to get it fixed but were concerned about the cost. Even given the time of year and increased demand, Wolff was able to send someone within 36 hours (quicker then anyone we called). Not only did they have a quick response, but the serviceman found it to be only a small leak, patched it and refilled our freon (costing us only $300 for the service call and a few pounds of freon)

The sales person was very helpful and knew his business. Both crews had the knowledge and expertise needed to complete the job. Price was about $4000 less than the other estimate for the exact same units (from a highly recommended contractor), although we are repeat customers. Couldn't recomend them more. The new systems are quiet and the temperature is very even. We will see about the $ savings over the next year cycle.

They came out soon and were very nice. He charged $115 to put in one pound of freon. They only charged $59 for the service, but the charge for the freon was exorbitant! All he did was put the bottle on with a hose. I wouldn't recommend them to my dog! Their price was completely unreasonable

We appreciate the speed of their response (they came the same day we called, although later than the window of time stated on the phone). The technician was friendly and quick. He told us in advance that the service call charge was $59.00 and that the condensation leak fixed charge was $144.00 and did we accept that charge in advance. We said yes, and two minutes later he had fixed the problem (a clogged hose). We will take the $203.00 lesson and perform this repair ourselves in the future. While he fixed the problem we had, and did so quickly and simply, it seemed a little inappropriate to play off our ignorance of the situation and charge $203.00 for a service call that took no more than 10 minutes start to finish and used no tools or parts other than air (to blow out the hose). Lesson learned? -- do this service ourselves next time and ask very detailed questions when they state a fixed charge for a service.

Service was excellent. Unit broke on a 112 degree Sunday in July. Even with no sv agt, company came next day when promised, diagnosed the problem and set up a time for next day replacement. Unit installed when promised by single individual (!) who had to dolly the unit over gravel in full sun. Unit has worked flawlessly ever since.

Joey arrived later than promised, but that's the end of my complaints. (I found out that the company was two workers short that day, and Phoenix was in record high temperatures.) A previous repairman from another company had installed the wrong parts, causing the system to overheat and shut down. Then he had rewired my cooling so it ran all the time. Joey quickly diagnosed the problems, searched for the parts required for my York A/C, drove into an adjacent city to get them (from Chandler to Phoenix and back), and fixed the problems. He did not try to sell me things I didn't need and did not overstate any potential future problems. The service call was $20 less than others had quoted and the parts cost about what I expected.

A/C went out on 6/18. While looking for a repair company, saw TV ad which said "Same day service guaranteed" Ad in DEX yellow pages also says "Same day service guaranteed". Called them at approximately 2pm and was told tech would call to set up appointment. Tech called approximately 4pm and said that not only couldn't they come out today, but he couldn't even promise they could make it out by Tuesday or Wednesday (2-3 days later) I feel that their promise of same day service made in their TV and phone book ads are false advertising.

OUR GUARANTEE IS THAT WE WILL BE OUT AT YOUR HOME WITHIN 24 HOURS OF WHEN YOU CALL. THE MEMBER WOULD HAVE BEEN ON OUR SCHEDULE FOR MONDAY MORNING HAD HE CHOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH US. WHEN THE TECHNICIAN TOLD HIM WE COULD NOT COME OUT SUNDAY NIGHT HE CHOSE TO CALL ANOTHER COMPANY. OSHA DOES NOT ALLOW US TO HAVE TECHNICANS WORKING ON ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IN THE DARK, THIS IS UNSAFE. CONSIDERING HOW BUSY IT HAS BEEN THIS SUMMER OUR RESPONSE TIME HAS BEEN SAME DAY OR NEXT MORNING FOR MOST OF THE INCOMING CALLS. The representative (Vini)from Wolff, was very professional. He went through all my options. He was frank with me that Wolff may not be the cheapest and gave me names of other companies that might be cheaper. We went to extended lengths to get me all the information on the unit I needed. He also returned my calls after business hours. The technicians arrived on time, did solid work, and billed me as quoted. I did get cheaper quotes from other companies, but not cheap enough to make me consider switching horses.

IT WAS EASY TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, AND THE WOLFF TECHNICIAN WAS PROMPT AND FRIENDLY. HE COMPLETED THE WORK QUICKLY. MY ONLY BEEF IS THE COST - HE WAS HERE FOR ONLY ABOUT 30 MINUTES, AND I PAID ALMOST $200 (THIS WAS ALL LABOR COST; THERE WERE NO PARTS OR MATERIALS). SEEMED VERY STEEP FOR ESSENTIALLY JUST GETTING OUT AN AIR COMPRESSOR AND BLOWING THE DRIP LINE CLEAN.
