The did a tune up and service work and here it is a month and a half later and the thermostat he worked on is broken, And the Ac Unit he worked on went out I am out 600.00 and have two non working units. When he removed on of the thermostats it was new and still working and we wanted a easy less complex one he tried to keep it and had already put it is his truck. With out asking me. I got it back.

This tech was very knowledgable and efficient in solving this problem . He was friendly and professional . Ty Sterling!!!

I am a retired Electrical Engineer and as a second career a HVAC teacher at a High School Tech facility. I was very hesitant because until recent health issues I have done ALL HVAC maintenence, as well as ALL household repairs and maintenance. So..... take it from one who has the knowledge and experience, this service was incredible!!!!! My appointment window was between 0800-1000. David arrived after calling me, at 0750. Very professional. After a two minute meet and greet, David got right to work. He was extremely knowledgeable and efficient. What NO upsale????? I could not believe it! I know the industry standard (i.e. $400 for a $24 capacitor, $300 to clean evaporator coils with a $6 spray can, etc) but nothing??? He documented all work and readings for future comparison. I am so very impressed. I did not believe real honest companies still exist. Will I be using Sterling in the future? You bet I will, and you should also.

Sterling Services is fantastic! I will definitely call them in the future for any a/c needs. They were on time, professional, and did not pressure us until buying anything. They didn't even mention anything to buy, which was great. The guy spent a lot of time on the units outside and went upstairs into our attic. He checked the inside thermostats and was extremely thorough, professional, and friendly.

The technician was a great guy, very knowledgable and professional. Honestly, the best A/C person I have had in my home.

I received a response of my paid work request within 2 days, and Sterling Services was able to accommodate my first time request. They responded via Angie's List, which was a bit of an inconvenience since I didn't know my password so I had to wait until I got home to respond. They apparently didn't have my phone number but asked for it and confirmed directions. They called 15 minutes prior to arrival within the timeframe. Mike and Nick were very nice and polite, eager to do a good job and were efficient. They shared information about services they provide and their maintenance plan which offered discounts and frequent service visits for water heater, plumbing and HVAC, and I will consider using that plan in the future. No pressure. They were nice enough to do a freebie of reinstalling a smoke detector that I had removed and replaced a battery, but it was more difficult to reinstall in a high ceiling with some plug attachment. This was my first experience using Angie's List and using Sterling Services. I will likely use Sterling Services again for other services and will rate their service at that time. I would recommend them for reverse osmosis service.

Very professional and extensive checklist of things checked. Everything went smooth and the price with the coupon was an excellent deal.

My 26 year old AC unit blew hot air one day, but never again.. So I requested a $60 tune-up/diagnostics. The technician was thorough, kind, and respectful. In the end everything worked fine, I just have an old unit that must have been over-amping the compressor on a really hot day. He provided a report of the results of every check performed. In the end I do need a completely new unit; however, it can still function inefficiently until it comes time to buy a whole new unit.

The service man came out and did what was needed for the summer. He inspected and cleaned and did a tuneup. Good price for the work.

Found their special on Angie's List; called them, set up an appointment for next day. Tech showed up ontime, introduced himself and got to work. Had to go to 3rd floor roof for compressors. Air handlers were on ground floor inside condos. He took about 2 1/2 hours and, I think, did a thorough job. Gave me a condition report; units were 34 years old. He gave me a bid (cost) to replace with new Carrier units (4 different levels to chose from). I got additional bids and all were above $7K each, as well as his. I did not go with any of them. I finally got a bid from another company for $4374 total (one condo), new Carrier.

Great service rep who was on time, professional, polite, and took the time to show me exactly what needed service and replacing. I highly recommend!

As it is a new house purchase, some of the items should have been covered by the home warranty - we called in the Insurance Company and they sent their serviceman out. Unlike Sterling Services who did a thorough job (which they were not being paid for) and explained to us what each issue was, the Insurance company simply said "oops it wasn't wear and tear so we don't cover." (Guy was in and out in 25 minutes, Sterling took considerably longer.) For a frame of reference we had been in the house less than 2 weeks so highly unlikely both A/C units magically broke and the units had passed inspection. The person didn't catch an electrical switch failure that was a safety issue and simply said the leaking was our problem. As the insurance refused to do anything - we called Sterling Services back and asked them to fix the issues. Some of the items were proper servicing hadn't been done, some were wear and tear and the other most likely should have been caught by the inspector as it was a issue that had to have been occurring for years. Wasn't cheap - but it was thorough and the Repairman was professional in laying out what was the root cause of each of the items, giving me the documentation to go back to both the insurance company and the home inspector and point out the where they either should have covered some of the expense or failed in their job. I may or may not get any reimbursement for the costs I paid to Sterling Services but what I appreciated was their transparency, fairness in pricing and desire to get it done correctly and quickly in the middle of summer.

The technician, Dave Porter, was extraordinarily professional and courteous. I was absolutely amazed at how quickly Dave arrived and fixed the problem. Better yet, he had the parts needed right in the truck. Kudos to Sterling for keeping the truck stocked! I am wary of residential AC repair companies and not had good experiences before. Sterling handled my call quickly and effectively, dispatched Dave earlier than promised, and completed to the repair immediately. Furthermore, Dave took the time to check the current draw on the fan and compressor and the refrigerant levels. It was truly a pleasure to have such prompt and effective service, at a reasonable price, and not to be up-sold on a new compressor. Great job Sterling. I'll be calling you next time and recommending you to my neighbors.

They provided excellent service. They were on time and able to answer all of my questions. I asked them to come out to adjust the air flow and they were here within 4 hours. They installed the unit and cleaned up the area before they left. They are also very polite and friendly. The unit I had replaced was approximately 20 years old. The new unit is very efficient as my June electric bill this year was $120.00 less than the previous year. Sterling Services is a family owned and operated company. I would recommend their service.

Michael was very good about explaining options to me, explained fully how to use the system, made certain everything worked before he left. He cleaned up after himself, was very professional and courteous. Because I bought a new R/O system and am an Angie's List member, I was not charged for the last two items. I will definitely call Sterling again when the R/O cartridges need changing next year.

Technician called to say her was on his way. Arrived on time. Patiently, methodically and thoroughly explained the functions of the HVAC /heat pump system to me since I haven?t had any experience with this type of system before. Very cordial and respectful. Didn?t pressure me into anything I didn?t think I needed to do immediately. Suggested a few repairs. Offered the service contract. I was not currently having issues. I have owned this 10-year-old home for a year so I wanted to find a reliable HVAC company so when I need service I would have someone to call that I felt comfortable with. I feel comfortable with Sterling Services. They will be my go-to HVAC company.

They advised that we needed $2200 worth of repairs, which we could not afford. My grandson, who'd just been through refrigeration classes, looked at it and was able to correct the situation with a part, outside of what the company thought we needed, and it only cost us $189. I felt like they were just trying to upsell me.

Stellar company. The office staff was fantastic, they got us on the schedule right away, were punctual, professional, and honest. The technician was super and he gave us a great deal of good, solid input and advice. We always worry about AC repair companies because we don't want a simple service call to turn in to a sales pitch. This was not at all like that and we were so pleased!! We will definitely use this company again!

I was not too happy with them. My air conditioner was leaking water down the inside of my apartment and they didn't tell me. It was in a rental property I own. My phone number was wrong in an email and they didn't try to find a right number, even though my air conditioner was broken. But I called and gave them the right number and they still didn't contact me. I wouldn't use them again. The fact that they didn't really try to contact me was very upsetting to me. I was disappointed in them. Their price was fair. They showed a lack of resourcefulness in not contacting me to tell me that there was a problem. They should have done more to get ahold of me when there was a problem. I had to find out from my tenant.

We called Sterling at 10:30 this morning when our thermostat/controller went dead. Had already checked circuits so suspected a failure in the AC system. Within 4 hours David was able to respond, find that the air handler unit in attic had popped a service door and safety switch open. Got that shut up, checked refrigerant level and added 2# of refrigerant. 4 hour response (and we live out in the sticks), service call, troubleshooting and 2# of refrigerant for $113. I call that a great deal. This is the 2nd time we have used Sterling and we will definitely use them again.
