Owner was extremely responsive and good to deal with. We are seasonable so had a tight schedule and he managed to provide the service almost immediately. Good group of guys on site to deal with but had a few minor issues that could have been a little better (at one point the trailer was getting full with the old insulation being removed and so it starting shooting out into the street, ladder fell from second story window - no damage but there could have been, guys joking and swearing in the street when cleaning up). Overall a good experience.

They were very punctual and professional.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it worked well; they did a good job. They offered to do more services but we did not need any.

Spray radiant insulation and install an attic fan.

The whole experience was great. Rick called back promptly and had the installment schedule within the end of the week. He worked around our busy schedules. One the day of installation the Mario called before coming and were professional and cuteous and quickly performed their duties. I had purchased the Big Deal and since the attic was more than 1000 sq feet I purchased additional coverage for the house.

The service person arrived about 10 minutes early. I had a few questions which he answered easily. i showed him where the attic access was located, then he brought another gentleman in and they worked together to do the job. (I was going to remove a pet gate so they could have easier access, but they said they would work around that, and did so with no problems.) After the job was completed, they cleaned up the area and let me know they were finished. The job took less time than I thought it would. They were efficient and professional, and had good manners.

They were very quick in replying to my request for a bid and scheduling the job to be done. They arrived on time, completed the job in just a few hours, and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. They also let us know that in the far corner of our attic pigeons had found a way in and then showed us on the outside of our home where they were getting into the attic so we could fix the problem. We were very pleased with them in all aspects of the job. The owner then called that afternoon to check and make sure we were totally satisfied with the job. Would recommend them to anybody.

It was awesome! To be honest, I have not set foot in my attic ever. The place scares me. When we bought the house, I was told that the insulation in the attic was insufficient and that we should had more blown in immediately. i waited nearly two years to have this done because the idea of doing anything up there was so terrifying. Anyway, the guys were great. They arrived on time. They covered everything so that area below the access cover was clean when they left. They looked over everything and put me at ease about what was up there. When they were done, I got a phone call from the owner (or was it the manager?) asking how everything went. I am very satisfied. I feel like a got a great deal and very professional installation and service. Good job!

I bought an ad from Angie's List for 1000 feet of insulation for $689. It was advertised as a special deal. Company used this as come on. I live in a 2700 square foot home. This was useless. Ad should have said you need as much insulation as square footage of house. Company provided additional 1700 feet of insulation for $1021.00. Total I spent $1700 to insulate house. Company said for insulation for full house was $935. I said I already paid $689 for Angie's List. The company said this was in addition to Angie's List ad. Angie's List should have made clear that their Ad was a ripoff and remove the ad. Update 10/21/13: I previously wrote a crummy review for Barrier. I am changing it as the owner contacted me regarding pricing. He explained every detail and was willing to come to my house to provide pricing details. Previously I rated this company F. However I am changing it to a B. Because of efforts of the owner to rectify pricing issues.

We had a home that was in the process of being sold (home located on Via Estrella in Paradise Valley) and the home inspection reveled some voids in the attic insulation. The areas where hard to access & install but Barrier came through for us. They even came back out at no charge when the general home inspector found another insulation void during his re-inspection of Barriers work that wasn't found during the initial inspection. They were fantastic! They were compassionate and understanding about my lack of knowledge about everything insulation and attic related. They took time to explain everything and help me make the best decisions based on my home's needs and my available finances. We still need a few things done to improve our attic situation and I will definitly be using their services. Great job!

They were very good. They came on time, they finished, and it was a good experience. There were no problems and they cleaned up everything. It was for adding 6 inches more insulation in the attic. We have about 3100 square foot house so the attic was pretty big. The guy who I talked to on the phone was great and the guys that came out actually did it, they were on time, they said they'd be here early and they were and they got it done real quick and I got it working 3 or 4 hours and I was surprised that it didn't take longer. I looked up, it looked like everything was great. They were about the same price as anybody else so it's good. We'll use them again if we got another house that needed insulation.

When I purchased this service (08/03/13) I was told the provider would contact me within 72 hours to setup an appointment. It took almost 2 weeks only to be told he would call me the following week to setup the appointment; I am still waiting for that call. I am no longer interested in his services, and will ask Angie's List to refund my purchase.

Took advantage of Angie's List special offer on March 30, 2012. Called Barrier to arrange an appointment and he said they were busy and he would call back to arrange an appointment. I waited several weeks for a call and then called them back to let them know we planned to leave town for several weeks and we wanted to get the attic fan installed before we left. . He said he would try to get to us in the next week or so. Work was finally completed May 12, 2012. My only complaint was the delay in getting the work done before hot summer months.

I called the owner for a quote with my email so he could let me know what it would cost. I did not hear back for about four days, he finally called me on a Sunday. He said he could get someone out nexy day. The price seemed to change quite a bit. It ended up costing a bit more than the initial quote. The person who came out was going to call the owner about the cost, and have them talk to me. They never did call to talk about it. I let them go ahead and do the work but was not impressed with the quote changing per square foot. I was originally quoted $350 but it ended up costing $520.

It went perfectly...we had some issues with the fan -- noise -- and the guys came out and fixed everything. All is well. It's obvious they care about quality service.

The $449 for 1000 square feet was a come-on price. They wanted to sell additional coverage (and of course, our house is larger than 1000 square feet). The additional coverage was not at the advertised rate but at the "regular" price, much more expensive. I would have purchased the additional coverage if it had been priced similarly. After going through one season of hot weather, I don't find that my cooling bills are any bit less than they were before, so I don't think the thermal barrier insulation is worth the money.

.early morning appointment on a saturday helped with our work schedule. The crew was tidy and had no mess or issues with the insulation. Attic Fan was installed as an additional cost. Had to wait to write the review and needed a few weeks of summer heat to see if things worked to my expectations. Areas of the house show a significant decrease it heat and very happy with their product and service

All went fine, now waiting to save energy.

After a glitch with the initial appointment, which inconvenienced me a bit, Barrier quickly rescheduled and arrived on the second attempt at exactly the time they had promised. The two men who came to our home got to work quickly and completed the work quickly and efficiently. They were polite and neat, and the charge was precisely what had been estimated on the phone. I should mention that we had received a quote from an air conditioning company for the same work (blown-in R 40 fiberglass) that was thousands -- yes, thousands! -- of dollars higher. I would recommend Barrier.

Had to call twice to schedule the work. He never gave me the detailed report. Spent maybe 5 minutes upstairs and said I needed to cut into my firewall, and install an attic fan. I never got a detailed report just a verbal report. When I finally got something in writing, it wasn't as thorough as I expected. The firewall wouldn't be all the way around, and the attic fan would increase our electricity costs. So we decided to go with another supplier.
