They came out and informed me that we didn't have an appropriate gable for the fan, so they could not install the attic fan.

Purchased a attic ventilation fan on the Angies list big deal. They were prompt in scheduling the installation. It took about one hour. They did a nice job and offered to come back and adjust it if necessary. Would use them again.

It went very well. They were very timely and professional.

He showed up late, and didn't even call. The worst part was that when I asked him for an invoice after he performed the services, he didn't have anything. He took out a piece of paper and just wrote down the services. So unprofessional and unprepared.

Quoted price was fair; we ended not using them. Very professional team who provided the inspection. Team was honest to state that the inside attic really did not need additional insulation (a rare trait for service providers), but provided estimate for attic over garage. Response time is a bit slow.

Talking with the owner he was very helpful at first, and quoted me a very competitive price and assured me about the paper work for SRP Rebate, so we hired them. They showed up early and got right to work. Both guys were very friendly and all about getting the job done. They explained what was going to happen and got right to work. Job took a little over 2 hours and looked great when they were finished. We settled the invoice and they left. Later that day I realized that I had forgotten to ask about the SRP Rebate So I initially just emailed the company about getting me paperwork for rebate since they were so prompt to reply to my email initially. I gave them a couple days to respond and when I did not get a response I called the office and left a message. I again gave a couple of days for a response and have not heard back. I did that because everything up to that point had been great and did not want to have to write about this in my review. My beef I guess is if your going to say that your going to do something then do it, and even if you can not then just let me know either way. a simple call back would have been enough for me, common courtesy goes a long way. So overall I gave them a B I would have given them an A+ but the lack of response is very un proffesional to me. As far as the work these guys are great and I would use them again and reccommend them. Just make sure you get rebate information before they leave. :-)

They arrived right when they said they would. From the start they were all polite and professional. Even though the attic space was hard to get to and can barely fit anyone in there and it was already hot out - there were no complaints. I think of any service providers we've had to our house none have come close to how nice and professional these guys were. Would hire again in a heart beat. And oh yes - the cost of fan and installation was excellent!! Don't pass these guys up!

They came but they never actually did the complete work. They didn’t send me any reports or anything.

There was a bit of confusion on the date we were to have our insulation blown in, but instead of putting us off, Rick the owner, asked his crew to come out to our place and do the job. They were scheduled to go home, but instead came out to our place with a smile. I was impressed that a potentially negative situation was made right. Much appreciated. The crew was efficient and inspected the attic before blowing in the insulation. Once they were finished, they cleaned up any insulation that had fallen and gave us a fair price. We will definitely use them again in the future - possibly for some under the house foam.

It was very easy to book with Rick and his workers. I called on Monday, Rick gave me a quote of $625 over the phone. He called back an hour or so later saying he could perform the work the very next day. They did, but unfortunately they were almost two hours later than scheduled. I was told my house would be the second job of the day, but it turned out my house was their third. Not a big deal, I was able to reschedule what I had planned and the guys were good about calling and letting me know. Two workers showed up to blow in the insulation. It is a fast and quiet process. All would have been perfect except the GCFI tripped. When the inside worker pressed the reset button, he accidentally blew insulation into the guest room where I had emptied the contents of the hall closet to provide access to the attic. He vacuumed up the insulation as best he could, but there was plenty left that I had to clean up when I returned all the closet items. Summing up: It was easy to work with this company, the price was less than originally quoted, all went perfectly except for a human error that caused a bit of extra work for the guys and for me, no harm, no damage.

I purchased the deal for the Eco-Friendly, R30 Blown-In Insulation. Barrier was easy to work with and were extremely flexible with my schedule. They were on time and finished the job quickly as promised. I would highly recommend Barrier Insulation.

After several companies that I researched and spoke with. My wife and I decided to do business with Rick. And part of the process was reviewing companies ROC License's. Read reviews people!!! Company may look good but not be the best fit for you. When you want price and quality Barrier is the company you want. One of the company's that I researched; looked good but had suspended ROC. Always check don't take for granted. Just because the BBB shows good don't mean all licenses are current. Rick has a stable BBB record and ROC. also shows stability. And no Rick and I are not related . I just do a lot of research before doing business with anyone. Hope this review helps you make a good decision that you will be glad you did for years to come. Arrived on time....in fact, a few minutes before.......reviewed scope of work with me.....went to work quickly.....finished the job in about two hours.....asked me to check the install and see if there was anything else I wanted...asked them to fill a couple of spots in garage attic....very courteous, efficient .

Barrier Insulation did exactly what they said they were going to do. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an insulation contractor.

They arrived on time for the job. They had the whole job done and cleaned up in right at one hour. The installers were professional and knowledgeable. This is the second time we've used them. They did our attic to R-36 or whatever code is these days, and added a vent fan. That was also a very pleasant experience. Prices are comparable to other places, maybe a bit lower. All in all it has been a joy doing business with them.

We had a baby in November, and the house was extremely cold that December, and so they were supposed to go in and check the duct work, and repair any damages, and if it needed replacement, then they should do that. They said they had repaired what they could, and come to find out, the duct work ended up collapsing, and there was air coming through and there wasn't any heat. I called them and told them what was going on after a week, and they told us that they would call us, and tell us when someone would be coming out. They didn't call us, and so I called them towards the end of the day, to find out that the service guy said that he ended up going to another address, and it was now too late, so they wouldn't be able to do anything until Monday. I was livid, because here I was with a baby, and the house was really cold. That was by far the worst experience that we had. The guy made it sound like it was too late, and it was the weekend so he was just going home. It was frustrating because they were supposed to come in and check for damages and fix everything, and less than a month later, it had collapsed.The price they charged would have been fine if they had done the work correctly. The owner was great, and he was responsive, but the technician was not at all.

The service was excellent. They were prompt and polite. They were very nice to work with and they did the work quickly. We have had no issues with the fan since the installation.

Rick is GREAT. He did everything he said he was going to do and more. I would recommend him and his company to anyone in need of insulation or advise for what they need to properly insulat their home

He was eager to do the work but I decided not to go through with the foam insulation. My rating is subjective due to the fact that he wasn’t able to come out and perform the work.

I did it within a month of buying the big deal purchase. There was no additional services. I bought two of the big deal purchase. They came and checked out the (Inaudible) I described on the phone. They went into my attic and I pointed out some of the places to look out for as far as the obstacles in our attic. And then they came in there was a team of three and they went up and sprayed it all down and I actually had a barrier and they sprayed out patio. I like that they didn't -- they were really quick and efficient, very professional and asked me questions on how they could clean up. It was very affordable too compared to other things I had shopped around for. The thing I dislike would be they were supposed to come back and clean up something and they didn't clean up my patio but they did come back and they had missed a couple of spots in the attic because there is always air vent that just sort of hard to get at but I found a couple when I was looking there and they came back and sprayed which was like a couple days. .

Once they found two separate electrical lines at our house, they plugged their equipment in and blew insulation into the attic. There were some minor issues about the senior discount, but the owner and I resolved it to my satisfaction.

The deal was great. We spent around $700 in total including the deal amount. They did great work as far as I could see. They worked promptly.

|Overall, the service was good however there was a hole in the line where the insulation traveled through and fiberglass was floating all over the garage. Plus they did not use the same product that was offered in the 'big deal'. I do not know if it was equivalent or not. Since the owner was not present (and I thought he would be), I did not get an answer to that question. The price was good. I will have someone check the attic to see if it was done properly.

I bought a coupon on Angie's List for $500 for R-30 insulation from Barrier Insulation. This was after I had an energy audit approved by APS. The audit suggested I blow in an additional 1372 sq. feet of insulation and that is what I explained to the owner, Rick, when I initially called him to ask about the type of insulation they used. Rick explained they would charge for the extra. The workers came to the house on time and were very courteous. The amount of noise was significantly less than I expected as I had personally blown additional insulation into a house I previously owned about 20 years ago. I had explained to the owner that the only access to my attic was through a closet in the hallway and he said that was fine. However, when the workers showed up they only had 8' or larger ladders so I let them use my shorter ladder as it was indeed a small closet. Partway through the insulation - spraying the worker explained that my attic would require a bit more insulation as the house was 2000 sq. feet. I was fine with a little more expense but explained the official size of the house was 1950 sq. feet. I expected maybe a couple hundred square feet may be needed. What they failed to explain was that they do not spray insulation to bring the level of the R factor up to R-30. They were spraying an additional R-30 on top of what already existed. Now this concerns me because the original insulation in the attic was not an even R-30 but in some areas insulation was almost non-existent while other areas already had 12' of insulation. I would have discussed this further if I had known from the start what they were doing The owner, Rick, assured me that this was all in the coupon information, but I do not believe it was clear, especially because I had called and talked to him directly to explain the APS audit and what I actually wanted. Anyway they wanted to bill be for an additional $610.47 based on a rate of $.55/sq. ft. additional over the cost of the original $500.00. I was upset because even after I had called twice to talk with the owner, he was obviously not clear on what I wanted and I certainly did not follow what they intended to do. Rick agreed to only charge me $.45/sq. ft. for the additional so I paid the total of $962.17. However, I was not happy with the cleaning up. They did use a broom to sweep up insulation that had spread throughout the house when they measured all the rooms. But I have carpet in half of my house so I had to vacuum all the carpet and the corners/edges. I foolishly had just paid to have my home professionally cleaned two days before. My bad! A fine dust settled through the house during and after the insulation is blown. I had to scrub my floors plus the walls, shelves and closet ceiling where the insulation was blown through.
