the fan works. I was a contractor before and use to install these fans for $300. the job is what I expected it to be for the price.

Barrier Insulation was represented to us by owner Rick Ceransani as certified as an SRP registered provider and able to do the insulation work on our home so that we could acquire the SRP rebates and energy ratings. His price was excellent, his workers were prompt and - to the best of our knowledge - did the work properly. However, after many months of trying to get our SRP rebates, we learned today that he is not certified with SRP as part of their rebate program and we are not eligible for the more than $400 worth of rebates we would have been eligible for with another listed provider. If we had not cared about the rebates, we would have been very happy with his work. However, Rick was well aware of our interest as we provided him with the Home Energy Audit that is the first step in the rebate process. I feel he should have been straightforward with us during the bidding process - of course, then he would not have gotten the job. It is for that reason that I have given Barrier Insulation an F for Professionalism.

They arrived on time, took exactly the amount of time they said they would, cleaned up and did a quality job. They were friendly, performed the with high emphasis on safety and left a perfectly even level of insulation in my attic space.

The job started with the purchase of an "Angie's list Big Deal" which consisted of 2 attic fans and installation for $299 each. I called Rick to schedule the install and we started talking about the fact the original contractor never insulated the attic on the side of the master bedroom addition. Rick knew exactly what I was talking about and he mentioned that I would be surprised how often he ran into these situations. "Nothing to worry about. We'll cut access holes in the old roof line so we can spray the insulation in the new and old part of the house and we'll install both the fans in the perfect spots so that you get the best airflow". He quoted me around $1,000 for the insulation job. To make a long story short: Rick's guys showed up on time. They went to work within minutes. They came prepared with all the tools they needed including the Sawzall to cut out a part of the old roof. They were done in 4 hours and they even cleaned up after themselves. If I hadn't stayed home to supervise their work I never would have known they had been there that's how clean they left it. The insulation turned out to be $1,200 but that was because I had forgotten to ad the square footage of the garage to the total square footage of the home.

Very well. They were scheduled to come at noon, but actually came just before 9 am. This worked out for me great! The installers seemed to know their stuff. They told me exactly what they were going to do and what they needed from me. They were done in under an hour and gave us the instructions and contact information for any questions. They also confirmed that we could hear the fan running. Rick later called to confirm everything went well and reviewed how the fan works and instructed me to call him with any questions or concerns. This was an excellent experience that was exactly what I expected. Couldn't have gone better!

I am not to sure as to what to make of this Company, only in the summer when it heats up to the triple digits will I be able to tell. I had called the Company directly to ask if they come out of my area since I live out side of the PHX area. The owner told me not to go through Angie's List and that he would give me the price. He was not prompt in calling me and told me that he had tried to reach me ( gee we all have cell phones with call history) So when I called on 2/16 he stated that he would be out 2/18 at 10 am, image the shock I got when my door bell rang at 7:30 am! I was then told that the measurement of my home was wrong (that I had given over the phone since I recently purchased it) I felt the owner should of explained better livable space as compared to total square footage. The owner gave me price "break" for the garage area .The men that did the work were polite and cleaned then they were done.

I thought the estimate was fair, but I didn't move ahead with the project.

Overall, it went well. When removing the old "blown in" insulation, caused quite a dusty mess in the immediate area of neighbors-might need to warn people a little more. But I was definitely glad to get rid of it. The radiant spray and blown in Fiberglass-nice. Haven't had a chance to experience summer yet to see if there is a difference, but it definitely seems as though our heater is coming on less. They were here in a timely manner and got it done relatively quickly.

They did a good job. They got the job done in a timely fashion and they were neat and respectful.

The work was very neat and clean. We felt that they did a fine job.

When we scheduled the original appt. with the owner, we were led to believe that he would be coming. I had advised him during the phone conversation that there was no crawl space where we were seeking additional insulation. He insisted I must be mistaken! He did not come with his crew, they found there was no crawl space and wanted to take sections of the ceiling out which we decided not to do since they had not thermo detector to determine where the insulation was missing. We were told they would have the owner call. He did not. I waited a week and finally called him. While speaking to him, he said we would call me back in 20 minutes.....that was several days ago and we have still not heard from them. We will definitley choose a more responsive and thorough company to handle our work.

I compared several insulation companies. They gave me the lowest. They came on time and did the job quickly. I think it does make a difference for the hot summer. I am happy.

We bought a different product hoping that my partner wouldn't be allergic to it. My partner began moving what we bought into the house, and she started having an allergic reaction to the cellulose green fiber insulation. My general contractor told us of a kind that would work. Barrier came out with the product and let us touch and rub it on our skin. With no problems while he was here, we decide to think about. They didn't presure sell us just provided a lot of information. We called back the next day and told them that we wanted it. However we already had insulation. They gave us a good deal and they returned the insulation for us. The guys are very professional, nice, hard working.
