We replaced our AC unit at home a few years ago using Affordable Heating & Cooling. Had used him several times with no problems. I called him several months ago to look at my moms unit. He kept giving me excuses, never returning my calls, he was sick, his help didn't show up, he had family issues, it rained to much to get under houses, etc. for never showing up to do the work. And I had to call every time to find out why I had not heard from him or why he did not show up when he was supposed to. This went on for 3 weeks before my cousin came up and fixed the problem. My unit started giving me problems a few weeks ago. I called Walker Electric (a different company). Because the unit is warrantied for parts. Walker has been waiting for over a week for one of the coils to come from the manufacturer (2 different coils had holes). In the mean time, they have had to add freon to the unit to keep it cooling which is not covered under warranty and is not cheap. I called Tim at Affordable Heating (the owner) to see if he could possibly help since he sold us the unit and installed it. The first question he asked who was doing the work-I responded and the first thing out of his mouth was and I quote "that was your first mistake". Then he went on a rant about how Walker was only out to screw their customers and made up things wrong with units when they were fine to make extra money. They over charge for labor and stretch out repair time to bill by the hour. He said all these things to me about Walker. Tim was glad to tell me what he would charge for the repairs (which was easy to say when he's not doing them). He made sure I knew because I didn't call him he could not help. He refused. He said when I called last time and he didn't respond or had excuses for 3 weeks that was neither here nor there and sometimes things just happened. I only wanted to see if he had the condenser coil or could get one quicker-because these are the units he installs-and if he could let Walker use it and maybe Walker could replace it when mine came in. You know common courtesy since we did buy the unit from him. Instead-he tried to make me feel like an idiot for calling another company to do the work. Like he took it personally that I didn't use him and was lashing out.
Description of Work: Nothing. I requested help getting a part for unit from manufacturer. We got the unit from Affordable and he installed it a few years ago. The company that I am using for repairs is having problems getting one of the coils that is bad from the manufacturer because the unit is still under warranty. I have called Affordable 2 different times since he originally installed the unit and he either has not returned my call or had excuses for why never showed. Which is why I went with a different company when the unit started acting up this time. Affordable REFUSED to help because I did not call him for repairs and then proceeded to basically call me stupid for using someone else and ran down the other business.
