I am a pretty fair Do it yourselfer. I have replaced all of the drains, toilets and faucets in my home. However, when it came time to replace the tub filler in my whirlpool tub, I knew this one would be a problem and out of my comfort zone. I knew I had to hire an experienced master plumber. I was given Kevin's phone number and gave him a call. He told me he was busy and let me know when he would be free to start the work. A few days later he called and asked if I was free and that he could come over in an hour. I was free and he came over right on time. He took a look at the job and told me it was going to be big and probably not able to finish it in one day as he had other appointments and commitments. I was fine with it as I was more interested in having the job done right. He got right to work on the drain and my initial hunches were on the money. They used silicone in stead of putty on the drain and he had to cut it out. That took some time but he was able to get it installed and did so properly. Next was the tub filler. When the house of built, they used the absolute cheapest grade fixtures they could get. $20 walmart faucets, used 1/2" downrods on the celing fans where 3/4" was required. I could go on but you get the idea. The tub filler was no exception. IT was piped in using 1/2" instead of 3/4" and required extensive modification to get everything to fit and function properly. Again, ym hunch proved correct as this was going to turn into a major job, much more than I was capable of doing myself. Kevin had to go but promised to be here Saturday. He called me on Friday and asked me if it would be OK to come by Saturday AM at 8:00. He showed up 5 minutes early and got right to work. And hour and a half later he had everything put back together and was testing the whirlpool to make sure there were no leaks as he had to disassemble a good portion of it, including the pump, in order to access the required work. Everything tested out fine and it now take 15 minutes to fill the tub instead of 35. The work was neat organized and he cleaned up after. I am pretty picky about the work done to my own house and I am completely happy with Kevin's work. I'd hire again in a second and will if I need anything else. His prices are right in line with the work performed. I have seen similar jobs go for more and some of less. Considering the difficulty of the work and the ease to which he completed it, it was more than worth the money. Give Azalea City Plumbing a try, I don't think you'll be sorry.
