We had a switch go bad on our oven in a rental house we own. The switch shorted out, then blew the switch and a circuit breaker in the house. The first time we had A&D come by was approximately October. In that visit they diagnosed the problem and said they had to order the part. By Christmas, no actual work had been done. When we called to inquire about the status, they told us the part was still on order. Shortly after, we called again, and they stated the part was delayed because they had to call the tenant to get the part number (which they should have had after the first visit). We called repeatedly to try to get the piece repaired, and finally, in February (5 months after their initial assessment visit), they showed up and replaced the part. We were never actually notified they were finally going to the house to actually do the work. The only reason we knew was because the tenant called us and told us. We also got billed $300 without ever receiving an estimate or an invoice. We had given them our credit card number originally to get them out to the house for the service call. So they just took it upon themselves to charge our card. We received an invoice approximately one month later, but only after we called several times and never got a phone response. About a month later, our tenant noticed that the face plate on the oven, a piece the technician had removed to repair the switch, was loose and not sitting correctly. We called out A&D again, explaining that they had not put the oven back together properly. They stated it would be another $70 service fee just for them to visit the property again. When the technician finally did arrive, the tenant said he smelled of marijuana. The technician then concocted some repair that was clearly not the fix for the issue at hand. When the tenant questioned this, the technician became agitated and condescending to the tenant. The technician then called us and gave us the same erroneous repair story. He also stated that it would be $100 in labor to literally change out 4 screws on end caps for the oven face plate. I declined the service at that point. Our tenant called immediately after and explained what he had seen. We called the company twice and left yet more messages, trying to get in touch with the management to explain our dissatisfaction with the service provided. We never heard from the company again, and fortunately, at least this time, did not pay them again. The service was poor, not reliable, dishonest, and not timely. The company was almost impossible to get a hold of after the initial visit. We would not recommend this company to anyone.
