Hiller Plumbing Heating Cooling & Electrical

This provider did absolutely nothing. I just purchased a new gas range and needed to have someone come in to do a basic swap-out with the old range. All lines were run so it was basically shut off the gas at the line in the kitchen, test for any leaks (standard procedure, I understand) and hook up the new range. When I set up the appointment earlier in the week I was given a quote of a $49.95 charge to come over plus the costs of any supplies and labor. Well, first of all, they did not send an appliance person, they sent a plumber who said he could do the work, which made me a bit uneasy as we were working with natural gas. I was then told the cost for the service call was $69.95 -- $20 higher than I was quoted over the phone. After the repair tech consulted with his boss via telephone, I was given a quote of $550 -- more than the cost of the new stove itself. Needless to say, my husband and I balked at this figure. The repair person then asked me to give him a quote for what I thought the work was worth -- I was estimating an hour of work at the most and offered $150. Another call to his boss resulted in a $300 quote that I also rejected. The service rep didn't even flinch over the prices he was quoting and asked me to not blame him -- he was going by the book. I sent him packing. I finally did find another company to do the work for less than the $300 counter offer. I will NEVER use this company for anything again.

The bid Hiller submitted was quite a bit higher than another I got, wo went with the other company. I think because I had my own equipment already he did not really want the job

They seemed to have fixed the job. The only issue is that they were out here several months earlier for a similar issue to look into the problem, but then months later the septic ended up backing up. After I spoke to the manager, he came back out and honored their warranty. They did the right thing and did good work. I have used them several times when we were out of state. Their general practice is to come in and quote the largest possible job before looking deep into the problem. For example, we had a issue with our air conditioning unit, and before he even looked into the machine, he said we needed a new system for $6,000. When he opened it up, he realized the system was brand new and it was just a $100 part that needed replaced.

Guy was great, very good communication, even let me use his sawzall to cut a part of the wall out. Gave us his card and cell # in case we needed anything else and call him direct. Good experience.

The entire process was a pleasure. They were the only plumber that could come to my home the next day (Saturday). They were courteous from beginning to end and I was pleasantly surprised by the price. I will definitely be using them again.

WATER HEATER: The installation of my water heater was quick and flawless. The unit had stopped working and they were the only company that could quickly get out here and install a new one on the weekend. HVAC: They nursed my old HVAC along for 3 summers before I decided I really needed to replace it. There was a bit of a hiccup with the new HVAC installation, I think because my home is a bit unusual. But, Mr. Hiller personally called me (on a Sunday!) and the issue was quickly resolved to my satisfaction. The Hiller folks who've come out to my place have all been very polite and they worked HARD. They were careful to protect the walls, carpet and hardwood flooring. So far, they've completely stood behind their work. I will definitely continue to use them. P.S. I entered "0" on the cost of service because I honestly don't recall how much the total was for the water heater.

It was excellent. They were prompt, available (which was nice). They were courteous, clean the pricing was more than fair.

They were prompt, did what they said they were going to do, installed unit, installed thermostat, showed how to use thermostat, explained what they had done and presented us with a document of work they had done.

The tech showed up on time and went right to work. He listened carefully to what I had to say before he began his diagnostics. Once he knew what needed to be done, he explained each item to me and what it would cost. He was clean and neat, ensuring that his shoes were covered and each room was exactly like he left it when he was done. He told explained to me that all Hiller's work had a five-year warranty.

Our Hiller service tech was amazing..... on time, Polite, extremely knowledgeable, and performed quality work. I was given the pricing before the work started. I will totally use Hiller for my future plumbing, HVAC and electrical needs. Jimmy Hiller runs a top notch organization.

Zach showed up on time and completed the job in a timely manner. Polite and courteous.

Alec and Ivan were both very professional and nice. Alec repaired the air conditioner after explaining everything to me. Ivan was the plumber and I can'nt said enough nice things about him. He check all the plumbing in the house and under the house. He did find a problem with the water heater as it is 19 years old. The anode rod was completely gone from 19 years of dirty water. I told him I didn't feel I could afford to have it fixed that day because of the air conditioner repair. He told me it would continue to work but wouldn't guarantee how long. Then I noticed that he was replacing it anyway and I said I can't afford to pay for that and he said I can't leave it this was it just wouldn't be right and that he would eat the cost. Now how many companies do that today. I couldn't let him do that so I did pay him and he gave me a good discount. I think he went above and beyond and thing I expected. I would never use anyone else but Hiller Heating and Plumbing..

It went well. Hiller had installed my humidifier a couple of years ago. When I was discussing with the tech about the water shut off for the humidifier he discovered it was a piercing valve that should not go directly into my pex line. He arranged for a plumber to come and install the appropriate joint. There was not any cost for this fix since Hiller had done the installation. By being proactive, he probably saved a future leak. Hiller has made things right for me in the past too. They have made recommendations that have improved my home like the circulator pump that helps get the hot water to the other side of the house faster and the whole harmony water purification system. With the UV lights on my HVAC unit and micro power guard filters, I have good indoor air quality too which helps with my allergies.

The installed were on time, and they did a very good job. Very professional!

They were very polite and properly dressed gave me a detailed writen est. They listed seperate the cost of materials and labor, and exp-lained that i would not be with out water but for a few minutes. the prrice was very reasonable as was the warrenty fot theirrrrrrr parts and laborr.

Dustin Young, the technician, was on time and the office called to let me know he was on the way. He made a detailed inspection of each unit, checked the performance of each and cleaned the units as well as the drains. He was extremely thorough, efficient, tidy, pleasant and informative, taking the time to explain instrument readings, what he was doing and why. The service took over 3 hours to complete and I felt that he took pride in a job well done. He said he could be requested to do any future work on the units since he now knew the units and job site.

The long and short of it is that I was given a price on a new unit of $6272 and signed an agreement. Just after they left I spoke with a coworker in Dallas who has rental properties and he said that sounded WAY too high. He got the specs on the unit from me and call 'his HVAC guy'. His guy told him, for that price, he'd bring the identical unit (same manufacturer), drive to Nashville from Dallas, take me out to dinner, then when he got home take his wife on a vacation cruise.

Less than 16 hours (the next morning, the system stopped. no cool air! THey returned (different tech.) and informed me that the unit wasn't getting any "juice" and teh repair cost is @$300+ . He informed me that if i got what was recommended yesterday, they would throw in this repair...after some mean stares and hard conversation, he repaired it at no cost.

They stay until the job is done. They are always on time and they are always super. They always put booties on when they come into the house. They don't stand around and talk. They come in and get the job done. They have always fixed any issues that come up from their work with no charge. One time we had a 10 year warranty and our water heater blew up and they came out and replaced it.

Great service all around! I called to have someone come out and diagnose/fix water coming from my AC unit. The staff was friendly and the tech arrived within 2 hours of calling. He quickly cleared the drain pipe and made some needed adjustments. He was very knowledgeable and personable. I ended up purchasing a one year membership for $99 to have Hiller come out twice a year for a Spring/Fall HVAC tune-up. I would highly recommend Hiller plumbing and Lee was a great service tech! Will use again.

Hiller techs have been to my home three times over the last year or so. Hiller technicians are prompt, courteous, cooperative and generally knowledgable. I would prefer not to be given the soft sell every time on upgrading items that are working perfectly well at the time such as hot water heaters, or adding water softer or whole house water filtration systems fir thousands of dollars. Fortunately there is no pressure to buy (so far). One A/C unit needed attention but we decided to defer it until next season as this season is about over. I did request advice on adding an instant (flash) water heater on the first contact and was discouraged from doing so (and it saved me a lot of money which I appreciated). On the other hand the plumber in this latest visit gave me mixed me opposite advice (unsolicited as part if the soft sell). Hiller is a little pricey but quite reliable. They are worth it in my situation.

All went according to estimation I would suggest that because each rep is supplied a Smart Pad that they use this technology to incorporate a credit card reader so the customer can use debit or credit card for payment instead of check.

Called Hiller at 4pm to see if they could send someone out to fix my A/C. Marcus showed up at 6pm. Marcus was very nice, polite and professional. He diagnosed the problem as a bad blower motor. If under warranty it was going to cost $500, if out of warranty it was going to cost $1500. Marcus told me the office would check to see if I was under warranty or not and they would call me the next day with a price. The next day Hiller did call and asked if Marcus could come back because he needed some serial numbers. When Marcus arrived we had another A/C company sitting at the kitchen table giving me a price on a new unit. I told Marcus to have Hiller call me because I was starting to get estimates from other companies. I never heard back from Hiller so we went with another company (Donelson) to replace our whole system.

Very professional, when I did have a concern w/work Hiller went above and beyond to correct and satisfy...Would highly recommend company.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and I was very dissatisfied with them. My bill was $200 just to repair a leaky toilet and they kept trying to upsell me by telling me our water pressure was too high. I know this is not the case. The technician who came out was a young kid and I don't feel he represented the company very well and the charges were ridiculous.
