TruGreen Lawn Care - 5741

They were actually too punctual. They came when we didn't want them to. We actually told them not to, and they still sent someone when we weren't home the next week, and tried to bill us for it. This happened twice. To their credit, they agreed to waive the charges. And the they provide a good service. The lawn was great and the trees recovered well. It's just a hassle to deal with them, and diffcult to make sure you aren't getting more than you bargained for, in terms of service and charges. We've moved on. Hard to put a real date on service...was spring, summer and fall of 2010.

The job went well. Their price was reasonable. They called first before coming.

I called for an estimate to have my lawn cared for. Ended up talking to someone at a call center in Dallas. I was quoted $90, and they recommended 7 applications, whcih seemed like a lot to me. I tol the rep that I wanted to check around for other options. He became extremely pushy. I ended up telling him that I wasn't going to sign up for the service that day, and our conversation ended. Today, the local Tru Green rep called, as a courtesy follow-up, which I was quite impressed with. He attempted to again earn my business, and asked me for the quote that was give to me by the call center. I asked him to quote me without that information. After looking at a few of my neighbor's yards, he quoted me $110 for 7 applications, and also attempted to press me for a close. When I finally told him he had quoted me higher than the call center, he was embarrassed, and apologized. This is not the type of interaction I appreciate from a company attempting to earn my business. Mark Radna

They are a big, nation-wide company. They were a little less expensive than the previous provider we had, and our lawn is in a lot better shape. I have a yard which is an acre and a half in size, and they do a good job. I think it would cost me the same amount for them to apply the fertilizer as it would if I were to buy the material and fertilize the yard myself. I had one problem that I kept mentioning and they didn’t quite get rid of it. We had some Creeping Charlie weed; neither the previous provider nor they seem to be able to get rid of it. I would use them in the future, if necessary.

They did a good job, but they were expensive and they try to sell me things. They did 5 or 6 treatments and they called and said they were done and I did not need anymore treatments. They called again afterward and said I needed one more treatment on my lawn and were here today to do that.

They just did like they said. I just pay for the service on a yearly basis. They were professional and responsive. I guess I can't really grade their punctuality. The quality of work was good.

I had an excellent experience with TruGreen. They were very considerate of my needs and desires. I originally said that I wanted an all organic fertilizer and they took the time to explain why that would be a bad idea at the beginning. My lawn was in such bad shape that they said I would not get the results that I wanted from an all organic fertilizer. So instead we compromised and they did the first couple of treatments with a chemical fertilizer and then transitioned into an all organic fertilizer. They worked with me for the best price possible. I like that they take the time to recommend extra treatments, for example a tree of mine has insects and they offer a treatment to kill the insects and save the tree, but they are not pushy when I tell them no. When I told them that I could not afford the treatment this year they let off immediately.

I have 2 small dogs that would suffer and that was the reason I did not want it. A few days later I walked out into my yard and found a sign on the lawn that stated they had used insecticide. I called them and told them that I did not want that and I will not pay for it. The man I spoke to stated I would not have to pay for this and he would mark that on my bill. I got a bill again the next month for that insecticide application. When I called and complained about this, to spoke to a woman who stated they had 3 men that worked here all with the name of Steve and was not sure who I spoke with. I then received another bill and with that a collection notice that if I did not pay they were going to turn this over to a collection agency. When 2 more phone calls did not work, I waited for the collection agency to contact me. They did and I sent them a letter telling them all of this and I never heard from them again. Then 3 weeks ago, I got a different letter from a different collection agency and I have sent them the same letter I sent to TruGreen and the letter I sent to the first collection agency along with an explanatory letter of what has been going on.

I have used them for 2 of the last 4 summers. Our lawn looks wonderful and they did a really good job.

They have repeatedly come out in the past 2 years and perfom unauthorized services and then charge us for it. They would not call first. I would speak to a manager named Dean who seemed personable, but the bills keep coming. I am thorougly disgusted with the service, and I have stopped all services with Tru-Green. I have asked repeatedly that they call before they perform services.

They were professional, responsive and punctual. The quality of their work was good and I would use them again in the future.

The technician who actually comes out and sprays is very friendly and informative, and he writes some nice notes about what he did and what areas he was concerned about that he needs to watch for. A second gentleman came out a month after the first treatment was done to check if we were satisfied with the work, and if we had any concerns. The person who came out for the second treatment addressed the Creeping Charlie that was crossing over from our neighbor’s yard. It was hard to get the first appointment and they kept rescheduling. However, I have been very pleased with them.

They are very good. They tailor to our needs. We do not use them for everything. I like that they are eliminating chemicals that are dangerous to animals. I have seen improvement in my lawn since they have been working with us. They pull the weeds and always try to stay on top of it. There is a lack of communication sometimes since they use different people. I would use this service in the future if needed, but I probably will not renew next year, only because the price is a little high.

We have them out and the one thing that I like the have reduced the chemicals that make the pets sick. They are good but are kinda pricely. They spray and fertalize the trees.

They do a nice job. Their product does a nice job taking care of the lawn. The technicians are friendly. My only problem is, they don't let me know when they are coming so I can mow the lawn.

They are very good. They helped with lawn problems we had, and they are very customer service oriented. If you request a call back they will always call back on time, and if you have a question that they cannot answer, they always get back to you. Their prices are comparable, and they are competitively priced. We have been very happy with them.

Door-to-door salesman asked if I would consider their lawn care service. Price seemed reasonable so I signed up. Lawn had been in very poor condition and had not responded to my application of weed killer. They always gave me a 1-2 day notice before they came out as I have locked gates and dogs. Unfortunately, I found that I do not have crab grass in my backyard. Instead, I have something like quack grass that they do not have any means of controlling except to have regular grass slowly push out the unwanted "grass." Having the lawn aerated twice this summer season should allow for better grass growth. Unfortunately, this company also tried to sell me other services -- insect repellent spray, tree service and ice removal material delivery. They, however, do accept "no" but would do better if they did not try to encourage additional work as it gets pretty expensive. TruGreen will continue to perform lawn maintenance services for me until I notify them to stop, so customers have to be aware of that.

They did an excellent job, came when they said they would, put up signs for us, and our lawn never looked better. However, the company put us on a telemarketing list and we were constantly being called to upsell new services for us and to have them come and spray more often that I had to cancel the service because I was so sick of being called.

I've used them for years and have been reliable. They did make visible improvement on the lawn over the first few years. This year, however, some weeds continue to detract from the appearance of the lawn. There was a question about including extra services in our bill we hadn't authorized but it has been resolved satisfactorily. The price indicated is per treatment.

They did very quality work. They told be what they were going to do. They told me what they did that day when they get done spraying everything. They always show up on time.

The lawn care was adequate. The bushes and trees not adequate. I was left with spider mites and lost the leaves on my fire bush. They are constantly calling you to upgrade your service. I found the calls very obnoxious. ***The cost is for the annual service.

They notify us when they show up and ask if they can do the treatment at that time. They are a professional company. They go beyond what they are expected to do. They are responsive when asked to do a duty.

It has been excellent. I have used them for years. The price is great, they negotiate for multiple jobs and they are very pleasant. The price listed is for trees and lawn combined.

The representative was in the neighborhood giving quotes and we had gotten some from other companies. Their quote was average but the one I was interested in wouldn't call me back so this company got our business. There was some confusion at first about the order of things and about how quickly things were going to happen, but the branch manager called me and straightened everything out.

They were calling all the time, usually at dinnertime, to try to sell us more products. This was very annoying. I asked them to stop, and they continued until I complained to a manager. One time they had an "expert" come out, without my consent, to evaluate my landscaping. This person called me and said that he found that I had some sort of little spiders in one of my bushes that could kill the bush. For an extra charge, they would put a treatment on the bush. I asked him to call me another time with more information, since dinnertime was not convenient to discuss it, and he never did (that bush never died, and that was almost a year ago). I have children, and I didn't want them playing in the freshly-applied chemicals. I asked them, on more than one occasion, to please call me before they come so I could remove any toys that might be on the lawn. Not only did they NOT call me, they sprayed the chemicals on my kids toys! That was it! I canceled! I will never use them again!
