As stated above, the work was top quality, the customer service was excellent, and the annual warranty is phenomenal!
Description of Work: We needed to remove the weep system from our basement. Everdry presented several options for us to choose from. They immediately started work and walked us through exactly what they were doing. They completed the work on time and if we had a small leak in the future came out right away to fix. The cost of the annual warranty is so minimal and they take it seriously for future repairs.

EverDry performed the services on my home described above and did a great job. It is such hard, messy work, and not fun for the homeowner both because of the mess and because it is expensive. At the time I had it done, the job foreman told me that if I ever broke through the cistern (an old system for providing water to the house), that they would come back to finish the drainage work whenever they could access the interior of the area. A couple of years later, I had an opening cut into the cistern to install a laundry shoot. I subsequently called Everdry Waterproofing to hold them to their promise. Although scheduling the work proved to be a real pain - they were hard to reach, each person kept passing the buck, it was hard to get a return call - they did ultimately keep their word, and after I pursued them via phone for several weeks and got insistent - they did indeed come back and finish the job, as promised. The main result is that I have had NO WATER whatsoever in my basement since Everdry did the work. The damp smell is mostly gone, and the unfinished space is much more functional for laundry and storage. My basement is no longer an emergency situation every time it rains. It is the single best thing, in a long list of repairs and remodeling projects, that I have done for my home.
Description of Work: EverDry Waterproofing waterproofed and installed a drainage system and sump pump in my 100-year-old farmhouse. It was a massive undertaking, but absolutely necessary for the livability of the home.

Dear [Member Name Removed], Thank you for providing such a detailed explantation of the work completed at your home. I feel AWFUL that it felt like you got the run-around when it came to finishing the area that was not accessible the first time. That sounds like you felt you had to corner us to fulfill what you are warrantied for. I can assure you that is not the case and hope that it was simply the seasonal busy-ness of a very popular company. That said, alls well that ends well, right? Next time you find yourself in need, give me a call direct and I will make sure it happens. Yours, Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing 262-650-1006

It took about three days but the men showed up on time each day and work steadily until everything was done. Obviously breaking up the concrete around the bottom of the wall created dust and mess but the men covered everything with plastic and kept the mess to a minimum. Around the outside they had to dig up some shrubs and plants and they were careful to preserve and replant these when they had the tile put in. As they went along with the project the foreman explained to me what they were doing and when they would finish the project. considering the job they had to do i was very satisfied with the outcome. It took several months for the walls to dry out before I could repaint the walls where the paint had flaked off due to moisture and I was able to do that late this summer. As of a year of completion I see no evidence of leaking and the dry walls I was promised has become a reality and I am now happy to say that my basement is dry and my water problems have been solved. I would recommend Everdry Waterproofiong to anyone who is having problems with a wet basement.
Description of Work: Put in drain tile around the inner foundation and hand dug drain tile around half the exterior basement wall because the other half was sidewalk and driveway and didn't need to be dug up. New sump pump installed along with the drain tile and an exhaust fan to keep the humidity out of the basement.

[Member Name Removed], Thank you so much for detailing the extent of the work as well as a follow-up months later. One important point that you bring up is the fact that the walls do take some time to dry off from the inside. That moisture that has caused so many problems over the years cannot be dried off until the "tap" has been cut off from the outside, which you did by having us dig around the outside. Though we drain the wall from in the inside, it often take a couple months for that complete dryness to occur. I'm pleased you shared your experience, especially with that note that you are now able to relax now that the wall is painted. Call if you need anything. There were wet spots down the corner of basement wall and other spots along the back wall back in Oct. 2011. Everdry replaced the drain tile. They also dug, by hand, a 2 foot trench along the basement wall down to the foundation in areas and sealed the wall along the back and side of the house. I very much appreciated not having my whole yard dug up. They removed the plants and put them back when done. They cleaned up very well and were professional and explained everything. The reason I gave a B for quality is that I had wetness on the wall blocks after completion, more than before. However, they came back about 3 times and finally discovered the problem. Where the new drain tile was connected to the old drain tile was uphill, so water was backing up. I did think they were very responsive in trying to solve the problem and after a few times, at no charge, they did. They also extended the new drain tile a bit more. My basement has been dry ever since with no problem. I would recommend them for their responsiveness and not giving up and solving the problem. Also for the care they took in not messing up my whole yard.

Dear [Member name removed], THAT is a wonderful review of the work others should expect from Everdry! It's exactly what someone with issues in their basement should be concerned with and the inclusion of the issue persisting despite our initial efforts addresses something that homeowners who contract to have a problem resolved should understand. Waterproofing, by its nature, is not something that can be guaranteed from the initial visit. NO ONE can guarantee that! So often, we have customers who need us to visit more than once to make sure the problem is solved. Hey listen, that's why you have a WARRANTY. We cannot promise with 100% certainty that the problem will not persist after we do our initial fix. Sometimes we need to come back out. And we DO! At no additional cost! With smiles on our faces. With over 25 years in business, one thing holds true: water finds its way. And we have to be there to catch it. For you, one of the unfortunate ones, we had to come back after the initial visit. However, your approach is fantastic. Ultimately, we fixed the problem and your home did not have to go through the big dig of the ONLY other actual fix: excavation down the entire wall. So costly and so intrusive! Our hand-dug trench stopped the problem at minimal disturbance of your lawn and landscaping. I'm glad you trusted us with your home and I'm especially glad that you found the value in our life-time transferrable service agreement. Here's to many, many years of safe, dry basement. Yours, Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing

The entire experience went very well. All the staff at Everdry, to include those in the office and the crew that actually did the work, were VERY thorough, prompt in responsiveness, polite and professional. I no longer have to worry about dampness, mold, or water in my basement. The process was thoroughly explained prior to committing and during the water proofing process itself. Staff were very knowledgable and all questions were answered. It is costly, but well worth the money. And the fact that the work is guaranteed and transferrable make it all the more worthwhile. I highly recommend this company and the work they do.

You know [member name removed], that is an extremely important point you make: we at Everdry pride ourselves on the educational aspect of our basement inspections. The foundation of the home is truly something very few know much about. Making an educated decision about the health and safety of your home is crucial to your happiness in it. The waterproofing, or lack there of, of homes out there is so important and yet so few understand how problems come about and what to do when they do pop up. Making sure our homeowners are given options and an understanding of how those options are applicable to the issues in each individual homeowner's basement is of utmost importance to us. I'm glad you felt comfortable with your choice and remind you to call us with any questions. You have a life-time warranty that allows you to do so. Enjoy! We are very pleased with the services Everdry performed. They dug around the entire foundation to apply waterproofing, jackhammered the perimeter of the basement, replaced the drain tile, installed a basement dehumidifier, and even removed an old shower that had been installed in the basement. The work was completed within a couple of days and they cleaned everything up afterward. We've had no issues with water in the basement since this work was completed, whereas before it would happen with any heavy rain and after the snowmelt.

[Member name], Good to read, my friend. In fact, you gave a lot of the details of what the work may entail. Thanks! You also made a good point about the cleanup After each job, the foreman for the crew asks the homeowners that we completed the work for to write us a letter, long or short, explaining their feelings about the crew, good or bad. Routinely, the comments include two points: the expertise of the foreman and the diligence of the crew...especially in the cleanup. Listen, this is often a very big deal for homeowners. Everything involving waterproofing is buried. We often have to do an amount of digging. But the cleanup is so important to homeowners and we KNOW that. We go to great lengths to make sure the cleanup is done as if it is our grandmother's home. I'm happy it was sufficient for you. Take care and give us a call if you ever need anything. Very professional. Kept to schedule. Workers kept area clean. This was a lot of money. We let the problem go too long, trying self repair. It would have cost less to fix if we had called in the professionals sooner. I have no point of reference if price was high or fair, because no other contractor could do what this company was able to do. Which was new drain system without disturbing neighboring property, hand digging an outside working trench to check for cracks and seal foundation exterior without using bob cats or leaving ruts in yard. I feel confident every time there is a heavy rain, that we don't have to worry about the basement flooding. I don't expect to ever use this provider in the future, because I don't expect to ever need them. But, we have a warrantee. So, if there is a problem, we call them and they fix it. Edit 8/118/15. Somehow the box "Share on Band of Neighbors was checked". This was not my intention. I have removed that checkmark.

Dear [Member Name Removed], An extremely important point was made in your very flattering review (thank you, by the way). You stated that it could have been much less expensive had your basement been addressed earlier. This is a point that I make nearly daily with so many people. As a company, we do a lot of calling, marketing, branding of our name. You can see us at almost any home and garden-type show. We send a crew of canvassers to certain areas based on work being completed nearby. We even call people that we once had an appointment with who ended up needing to reschedule for whatever reason. Quite frankly, we beat the bushes to make sure we are not letting anyone "fall through the cracks". And the reason is simple: it would be bad business if we didn't do all of these things. However, though we are not non-profit and are a "business", we DO offer a really great SERVICE to the community. That canvassing team sets up appointments for inspectors to diagnose an issue and offer ANYTHING that can be done for a basement foundation issue. And we unearth so many important needs that can AND DO get out of hand. People simply don't know how bad their basement is. And if we could get to these problems earlier, the fix may be MUCH cheaper. So I guess what I'm saying is: thank you for both seeing the quality in what we do, but also for noting that it is important to at least find out what must be done as soon as you can in order to avoid what can be an extremely costly error in the foundation. Give us a call for anything. You have a life-time transferrable warranty for just that. I wish you well. Yours, Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing

We were referred to Everdry by our landscaper (whom we trusted) so I had let my guard down on this one, so I am partially to blame. I have a rule to always get estimates/opinions from 3 different contractors at minimum. But since this company was recommended, we called them out first. And paid for it dearly. The actual work done was OK, but nothing spectacular. The crew showed up on time and were professional enough, but the workmanship was sub-par. They left a lot of cement in my basement sink, the ridged drain plastic installed along the basement wall was uneven and sloppy, and I had to have them come back to fix uneven concrete work. Then there were leaks that appeared after the job was done, which they did come back and fix as well. The real problem I have with this company is their sales tactic. It's just all so shady. It's the same story I've read on other peoples reviews... They send a rep over to take a look at the situation. They then sit you down and use fear tactics to add a sense of urgency. They insisted on including my spouse, which, of course, just feeds into their fear-based approach. "Mold is a serious problem, and your family is in danger" sort of thing. Even though our water issue was pretty minor. Once they see you are actually thinking about it, they "do you a favor". Because they are "booked so far out", they call up the scheduling department, and lo and behold, there is an opening that just opened up within the month! "But that opening will fill up super fast", they tell you, "so if you want it, you better act now." And of course, we bought it, hook line and sinker. So, we singed a contract for $18,000. Which we could cancel within a week. Of course, that did not sit well with me. That's a lot of money. And the whole way it went down made me so uncomfortable. So I got a second opinion, and of course they came in way less than that (like $9,000). Still a lot of money, but enough to convince me that I needed to cancel that contract with Everdry and think about this some more. So, I sent a signed contract cancellation letter to them. Unfortunately for me, I did not read all the fine print, and we technically only had 3 days to cancel, and I had missed it by a couple. I stated I still wished to cancel the work, at which point they sent over the original sales rep along with his manager. Again, my spouse had to be present for this, and it really was something I wish I could have spared her. The manager was completely rude and disrespectful. We were told they had already ordered all of the supplies for our job (which, I would totally have understood), but what made our job so special that those same supplies couldn't be used for the next job?? I asked, but he avoided an answer. Obviously, he knew I was right or was lying in the first place. He then said if we wanted to get out, we'd have to pay something like 40% of the cost. I didn't really want to do that. We went back and forth for a bit and he ended it by threatening to bring in lawyers.... So, we were basically stuck/forced into this $18,000 overkill and overpriced fix for our basement. Upon completion of the job, the lead contractor asks you to write a testimonial. Of course, we were shown a whole folder of these during the initial sales process. I had wondered how so many people wrote anything positive, but now I understood: you have to write them while the lead contractor is watching you. But honestly, the guys who actually did the hard work were great and totally respectful, so I went ahead and wrote a nice comment (sorry, to whomever reads that during their next hard sale). The only other positive is the lifetime warranty. A couple years after the job, we tore out the back concrete slab to put in a deck. Since there was concrete there when they originally did the job, they didn't apply the outside waterproofing treatment to that area. I called them up and they sent out a crew to take care of that at no cost. The negative there, is that the lifetime warranty will cost you $50 a year to maintain. I would completely avoid this company if you can. The actual work is OK, but is overpriced. And the sales team will take advantage of you at every opportunity.

[Member Name Removed], You sound like someone I would like to meet. Your experience sounds unlike the vast majority of the others I have read on this site and so many others. It's a bummer to read that you felt you were "sold" waterproofing, whereas others simply choose us. That said, your concerns over the experience lead me to believe that you wish you felt better about the process. I have called and left messages in hopes of doing just that. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a call back. I hope this response finds you well, dry, and content with the overall product you purchased, but please do contact me at 262-650-1006. I would enjoy a sit down to go over what we can do to make you more content with your purchase if not to make you a fan of ours. Yours, Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing

(member name removed), Thanks for taking the time to review our company. I'm glad you appreciated the job and we met your expectations. If there was an issue with the plants, could you give me a call at my office so I might remedy the situation? As you know, the digging on the outside can be extensive, but with shovels instead of backhoes, we can treat your plants much easier. That said, the priority is to waterproof your basement for the life of the home and sometimes plants that are extracted during the process do not "bounce back" right away. I'm hoping your plants did, but if they did not, give me a call. Thanks, Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing 262-650-1006

From start to finish, this company remained responsibly, respectful, prompt and always professional. Flow of information between us and Everdry remained steady during whole process from assessment to estimate to work and through completion. If there were ever questions about how we would like something to be done or how we wanted something to look, we would be asked, even if it meant holding up work, which didn't happen often because of the flow of communication of what had been done and what was going to be done and questions would normally be taken care of the day before it was done. My wife and I have had many things done to our home since we began living here in 2004, and we've found it extremely hard to find decent contractors to do...well, practically anything to our satisfaction. Either it draggs on for EVER and never is completed at a timely fashion, using every excuse imaginable to get out of it, or their work is not worth the money paid, or they make you feel as though you have no idea what you even want! Everdry has never given us a reason in 11 years to say anything negative about them. They have been our best investment yet.

Now THAT'S the way to start out my Monday!! Thank you for the wonderful review of our work. We are completely aware of how difficult foundation work is for most home owners. After all, everything we do involves digging; digging around the basement on the outside, opening up cement on the inside. It can be tough on home owners. I'm very glad to hear your experience with us went so well. Especially noting the communication helps us greatly. We strive, from the very first time we speak with customers, to inform and educate. That you appreciated this enough to write a review means our message is getting through. Enjoy the dry, safe basement and call if ever you need anything. So some background, we had the power go out and the sump pump went out. Water backed up and after we had a water damage company come clean up the mess, it was recommended we have a water proofing company look at our basement for a single mold spot. found on a board. The basement was 90yrs old, so we were bound to find something. The first thing they did is assess our house with a pair of guys who seemed decent enough. After we kinda waivered on whether we really needed their $15,000 system, a week later their and quot;chief inspectorand quot; (really just a closer) showed up (my wife was not impressed with his fancy mustang) to tell us how bad our basement was and how badly we needed their system. He didn't even go into the basement the time I was there (I found out later he had been on an earlier visit but only briefly went to the basement). Some of what he said made sense. But he did seem to be making up some stuff that contradicts science (like the venting system blowing air out of the house but somehow wouldn't create a vacuum that would bring cold air through leaks). He even made up an obvious sale tactic about being able to get us a and quot;special dealand quot; because they had extra supplies sitting in a warehouse they wanted to close. He also told me that fixing the grading in our backyard was not a solution for us. I was a little insulted when he told me the brand new $400 battery backup system (I personally installed after our power outage) was crap. If they wanted to make me happy they could have bought my backup system. So, we feel somewhat trapped because in order for us to sell our house we need a piece of paper saying we fixed the problem. So, we sign with them. My wife, then unsure, decides to get another opinion. We had already had a few other companies out before everydry, some tell us to do nothing, others want to excavate but nobody has any REAL objective data (humidity readings of our walls were elevated but very inconsistent). We have an expert come out, who scopes and tests our draintile, find out it is completely fine and functional (which counters and quot;the chief inspector'sand quot; theory that our interior drain tile isn't functional. We then call Everydry and tell them we want to cancel the deal or modify it to make it cheaper. They send the chief inspector/closer out again. He disputes the drain tile test as flawed and Everdry's drain tile is going to be bigger and better functioning. In order to cancel he tells us that they'll have to charge us 40% to pull out of the deal because they had already ordered the supplies (which seemed completely made up considering much of the supplies were just and quot;extra sitting in a warehouseand quot;). Granted, we waiting a couple weeks hmming and hawing before trying to pull out of the deal. He was also unsympathetic to our concerns of emptying out our life savings and/or taking on debt. Figuring at that point that we might as well go with this because we are going to have to do something about our basement and paying 40% for nothing just made us mad and made me feel trapped. So, the guys show up, seem to do a decent job (even the foreman pitched in). They then tell me they are going to have to move the electrical box (due to code... not their fault) but then they tell me I'm going to have to hire a plumber to have a drain put in (the condensation line from the furnace use to run into the sump hole). The closer/chief inspector told us that EVERYTHING would be covered if they encountered problems (including more expensive waterproofing and a few other things I specifically asked during his visit). The foreman also said that he recommended hiring a company to fix the grading in our backyard because it was a big part of the problem (something that contradicts the and quot;chief inspectorand quot;) and putting a lot of extra load on our wall. Since Everdry gave us a lifetime warranty on our walls why would I pay extra to have our backyard grading fixed? If it was important then the chef inspector should have recommended it. The foreman didn't understand why we were not happy about moving the sump pump to what was previously a living area that we'd now lose and partition (and Everydry tries to promote in making basements into living spaces-- we lost living space). They finish the work mostly on time but were EXTREMELY focused on getting done by 5pm. In fact I would have rather them stay a little longer, work slower and get the job done right. The foreman reminded the assistant several times they were behind and needed to get done. The assistant foreman actually told me that and quot;Miller timeand quot; was coming up and they needed to get done. It seemed obvious that once 5pm hit that everyone was getting paid overtime (or something). They did a pretty crappy job of cleaning up, and even threw away things that we had specifically asked them NOT to throw away (like the hose from the sump pump outside). Basement work is obviously dusty work and they left our house very dusty, which could have been helped if they would have setup an exhaust fan (in fact I should have setup a box fan on a daylight window). They moved the sump to meet the code with the electrical box (which is what needed to be done) and had to drill a hole through the side of the house. Due to them trying to get done ASAP the final walk through was done extremely quickly. I was physically handed a deodorizer bottle and told to set it up. When I noticed a couple things had been tossed I had wanted saved, the assistant foreman yelled at the guys in the truck (which leaked oil on our driveway by the way.... Not cool) who started digging through trash. Now this is what probably made me the most upset.... 1) we actually had to call them back to seal the and quot;worst cracksand quot; that the initial inspectors pointed out. They completely missed them. The assistant foreman said he didn't see them. 2)they didn't seal the front stairs along our house (which the inspectors also told us was a major problem.) 3)we found water damage on several pieces of wood, specifically a couple of doors that had been removed but propped up and exposed to some water (we have pictures). My wife called and we were told they'd reimburse us. 4)the and quot;newand quot; interior drain tile piping was, for what I could see, identical to what was removed. The crew even decided to leave about a 10 foot piece of the old drain tile intact under our stairs and simply connected it to the new system. This somewhat contradicts what Mr chief inspector said about bigger and better system if they relied on the old system. Yes, I realize other pieces of their system were put in place including a new exterior system that will improve drainage. 5) although they did seal the vinyl siding on the exterior of the house around the PVC pipe coming from the sump pump, they did NOT actually seal around the pipe into the basement with insulation (I have pictures).. At the beginning of winter I was trying to figure out why my basement was so cold. The concrete wall around the pipe was cold. I looked along the pipe going through the wall and could see light on the other side. I know they were paid to waterproof and not reinsulate the basement, but I paid $15k and they couldn't even seal around the pipe they put through my wall with a $3 of spray foam and $2 of fiberglass insulation!!! I went ahead and did it. But just illustrates what I believe is lack of care in double checking that i's were dotted and t's were crossed. Overall, good drainage system, very expensive, somewhat shady and high pressure sales techniques, some disagreement on what needed to be fixed by inspectors and the crew (and what and quot;everything extra we pay forand quot; really meant) and then not making sure the job was done right, slight water damage, lots of dust and an oil spot on my driveway to top it off.

I had a chance to read your review and then to follow the details of your file here in our offices. First, let me say that I am appreciative that you are so honest with what you have written. Often, people will focus on one or two details of the work that was completed when they review us. Most, as you can see, are positive and that brevity doesn't capture the full extent of the work. When the review is negative, the brief commentary does not include all that we have done or that the work that was completed is warrantied for the life of the home. You, however, have been very detailed, explaining both the good and the bad. And to that point, I am sorry your experience with us did not leave you as a raving fan of ours. It sounds like a lot of aspects of this endeavor left you wanting more. And that is what I am offering. Keep in mind that you have a warranty and we stand behind it 100%. I would also like to sit down with you myself and see if there is anything else I can do. I will be calling this morning (a little later as to not wake you) and will see if there is anything else I can do for you. My hope is that you never need us again, that all of the issues you needed us for have been fixed. I would love for that to make it all feel worth it. However, waterproofing includes many moving parts. Our service department prides itself in showing the true worth of fixing your basement with Everdry. Again, I am sorry to read of your feelings and hope that we can meet to work on making you a raving customer. Yours, Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing

We were afraid we had basement seepage so we researched Angie's list for basement waterproofing companies to come in and give us estimates on potential repairs, if needed. Everdry would not come out unless both homeowners were there. After re-reviewing all Angie's List comments, I got the impressionthat Everdry might want both homeowners available so that they could strong-arm a contract right on the spot. Not something I was interested in -- so I cancelled their appointment as I knew there were plenty of other reputable companies to work with who would only give me an estimate.
Description of Work: We only called for an estimate but decided against it after talking to the customer service manager.

[member name removed], I keep a real close eye on our reviews and online history. Your grade of a "C" though you never went through an actual inspection is troubling to me. It is also troubling that you got an impression of us based upon what others have written. We have a national company policy that we speak to all those who own the home with regards to the basement as there is an daunting amount of information that is usually passed on to homeowners. This policy came into affect as we found our inspectors driving long distances (we service as far north as Fond du Lac and Sheboygan, as far south as the Illinois border, and as far west as Jefferson) to explain what is going on in the basement, the damages related to the issue, as well as the options to fix, only to have the single homeowner incapable of passing that same knowledge on to their spouse after the inspector had left. Calls to come back out were a regular occurrence. Please keep in mind that the inspection is free and there is never an obligation to do work with us. However, the inspection is free to the homeowner alone. Each appointment costs the company plenty. All we ask, up front, is that all those who make decisions on the home be there to hear the information. To Everdry, the educational aspect of an inspection is far more important than dropping off a price and a business card. That said, with your concerns about our intent, I am willing to drive to your home myself to give you an inspection and allow whomever I meet to try to pass that information on to whomever else needs to know what's going on. You are correct, there are other reputable companies out there. That said, our track record of life-time warrantied work, transferable for the life of the home is unheard of. We do not do stop-gap fixes, fixing it right the first time. Please call and ask for me alone. I would like the opportunity to speak with you and change your impression of our company. The basement had water seepage and over the years produced cracks in the foundation. After several estimates, by several companies who could do the job, and much research through Angie's List and BBB; Everdry was the company chosen. Liked the idea of doing a complete job versus either inside or outside. When the workers showed up, the head guy insisted a recommendation letter be written at the completion of the job. Wasn't expecting that. Felt forced into doing that and then realized that is how the sales guy is able to produce so many satisfied customer letters. The workers did a really good job. They were courteous and polite. Questions were encouraged and answered with patience. Issues arose after Everdry left. When the EZ breathe system was installed, we were only given verbal instructions on how to use it. We were supposed to receive an owner's manual, but never did, even after several attempts to get one. Andy in customer service never was able to get a copy. If the house is ever to be sold the new owners won't know how to operate it, not that our memories are all that accurate only after a few minutes of verbal instruction. The other issue we experienced was the newly poured cement has cracked after only a few months. Again, when Everdry was called, without seeing the cracks, Andy determined that the cracks were only cosmetic and it was a homeowner problem. Not the expected response after paying over $24,000. He also informed homeowner that there was information in the materials left with us. There were a lot of papers given to us and to read over every single item would be time consuming. If this is such a common occurrence, perhaps one of the workers should mention a preventative method or that it should be expected, instead of homeowners becoming disappointed in the work that was done and nothing being done by the company to fix it. Based on the work done at the time, this company may be hired again, but based on their customer service, not quite sure we would use this company again. Would have liked to been informed about the possibility of the cement cracking. Everdry sent Toby out to inform us that the cracking was normal due to their cement mixture. He also brought instructions on how to operate the EZ breathe and taped it to the vent so we would always know how to operate it. Because of their thoroughness, we are now satisfied with Everdry.
Description of Work: Waterproofed the basement inside and out and installed an EZ breathe system.

[Member name removed], I was disappointed to read your review. We pride ourselves on making sure to thoroughly educate each and every homeowner throughout the process of waterproofing. The "close", as we call it, centers around best practices for homeowners after we complete the job. The hope would be that the homeowner knows everything to expect in the coming months. We cannot promise that you will not have issues, but that warranty you possess insures you that we will be there to help if anything needs adjusting. Toby's visit is just part of the package. I'm glad you're satisfied and I honestly hope we can be of help in the future to change you into raving fans. Stay warm! Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing

.The men came in, sealed off the stairwell with plastic and covered the furniture that was in the basement before jack hammering the concrete next to the walls. They carried the concrete out of the house. Outside they dug down about 1 1/2' from the wall and coated the walls and cracks. They also sealed the patio and front door areas next to the house. I was pleased that none of my bushes or flowers were damaged.. They cleaned up quite well after they finished in 3 days. It was not as dusty as people had warned. Overall, I was pleased with the work the men did, and I am hoping the mold on the walls will eventually be taken care of. by the painters.
Description of Work: They installed drain tile in the basement several feet down on the inside and on the outside coated the walls and cracks. They also installed a sump pump and backup system. (This is not a very good explanatiion.)

After not being able to sleep all weekend due to my concern about the huge financial commitment I had made, I decided to cancel the contract. I filled out the cancellation form, wrote a letter and mailed it on Monday 07/22/13. I also called the company that same morning. The receptionist said she would need to send the saleman back out to my home and an appointment was set for the following day. The salesman arrived at the scheduled time and was accompanied by another individual, Christopher Poitter. Mr. Poitter tried to convince us not to cancel. He offered to drop the price down some more. I explained that my husband and I are retired and on a fixed income. I further explained that we did not wish to take on additonal debt. The $78.00 check that I wrote on 07/19/13 was returned to me on 07/26/13.
Description of Work: I filled out a form at the county fair in order to have a chance to win a Menards gift certificate fpr $100. I then realized I was providing my name and address for the Everdry Company. A company representative contacted me and I decided to get an estimate because I had some minor water leakage in my basement twice this spring following several days of heavy rain. We had just purchased our home a year ago, and with the dry conditions of 2012, we had not had any basement issues. The company representative, Any Schott, did an inspection and spent the entire afternoon of 07/19/13 explaining his recommendations to remedy the leaks. He explained how their company has a patented 3 step procedure that would waterproof our 55 year old home. What he explained to me made a lot of sense. Then he told us the price. He also explained options concerning financing and we signed the contract.

(removed member name), Though we lost a chance to fix your basement for good, we do hope that you find the worth in what we do and give us a call. I recognize that this solution is not cheap. However, the value lost due to a basement issue far exceeds our cost. All the while, damages from not fixing this issue can cause long-term affects. That said, I respect your decision and will honor the discounted price if you ever feel the need to get rid of this problem once and for all. The work went fast and they finished in 2 days. There were plenty of workers to get the job done - 6 or 8 men. They cleaned up as well as possible. Everything was covered. All mud was removed without too much mess. We had rain on Friday and they had to quit working outside until it quit. All plants were put back though not all in the same place. A storm window was broken but they are having it repaired.
Description of Work: All four walls inside and outside had to be worked. Cracks and rain tiles were done.

I recently purchased a single family home in Shorewood that had some issues with dampness in the unfinished basement. I purchased it after the major flooding from a couple years ago, and there appeared to be some evidence of water flooding in the basement, even though the seller did not disclose that information. Given the age of the house, flaking and cracking in the foundation, and concerns with future water issues, part of my plan for purchasing the home included waterproofing it. I was referred to three contractors by a structural engineer I do business with who is a trusted source, and Everdry Waterproofing was one of them. All three came up with basically the same scope of work, but Everdry's price was at least $5,000 cheaper - I ended up paying them just over $15,000 while the other companies were over $20,000. Everdry was prompt in setting up a time for a free estimate, and they were very thorough in explaining their system, as well as their lifetime warranty. The other contractors only offered 20-year warranties, so the lifetime warranty was a plus in addition to the price. My experience with Everdry during the job was awesome. They went out of their way to meet my schedule and complete the job before I moved in which was much appreciated. They were careful in digging up the landscaping around the house and after sealing/repairing the walls put everything back, inlcuding plants, bushes, soil, mulch...everything. My landscaping actually looked better after they left from what it was before. Everdry made a point to covering anything that could get dirty with plastic and they left the site clean each day they were there working. I also did not have the proper electrical outlets in the basement for their EZ Breath dehumidifying system and sump pump, and they actually paid to have new electrical installed working with Shorewood's inspectors. I was very impressed with that extra perk. They also finished the job on time. In addition to finishing the job as promised, Everdry continues to offer service. They told me some of the soil and dirt might settle and that if that happened I could call and they would bring out new soil. I had an issue with a laundry tub leaking after they left. Even though i already paid them they came back and repaired the plumbing at no extra charge. Based on my overall experience with Everdry and the team I worked with led by Toby Mauhar, I would recommend them to anybody looking to have similar services performed on their home or business.
Description of Work: Basement water proofing Utilized Everdry's multi-step system that included foundation block sealing and repair, installation of a sump pump and EZ-Breath ventilation system, battery back-up system, etc. The scope of work was developed based on the needs of my home, including factoring in the structural integrity of the foundation.

Beware! I had to convince them to send a salesman to speak with only me, and not both my husband and me. The salesman was friendly, but told me some things that seem designated to mislead/misrepresent once I had time to think about them. The quote was such a shock that it wasn't until the next day that I realized I had signed a contract. The quote included a partial excavation and a full excavation of only 2 areas. The salesman gave me less that a 1% discount when I agreed to have them do the work as a and quot;fill-inand quot;. The contract stipulated a time period of 5 1/2 months before the work was guaranteed to be completed. When I decided to exercise my right to cancel, I had another visit with the salesman and what I can only assume was the sales manager becasue he did not identify his position with the company. After much arm-twisting, he agreed to cancel the contract, but only after he pushed me to allow him to come back after I received any other quotes. I will not have them back. After they left, I called the office to request a refund of the small deposit, which they promised to take care of. After a week of waiting for the refund, the deposit still had not cleared my bank nor did I receive the refund. I was forced to pay for a stop-payment, which may have been their intent. Everdry has gotten some good reviews, but they do not like to lose. The entire encounter was very stressful. I felt mislead, pressured and manipulated, and also did not feel that they could be trusted to do a good job after what I went through with them.

Absolutely hate that you paid for a stop-payment. Our history as a reputable company (as you apparently have read about) is too valuable for us to try to keep your small deposit. We simply believed we had a follow-up appointment in the near-future after you were allowed to get other estimates. Knowing that our solution is both the best for the home and backed by a life-time transferable warranty, we expected to be able to earn your business. We found out on March 4th that you didn't expect to meet with us again and were disappointed you did not get your deposit. Though we are disappointed you did not get your basement fixed with us, I wish you the best of luck with what you ultimately chose. If there is anything I can help you with in the future, please feel free to call our office. Yours, Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing

Customer, How disappointing to read! I do hope that the small issue you speak of was resolved properly by another company but will hold out the hope that, if other issues pop up, you can consider us going forward. The representative you dealt with must have not been on his "A game" for you to mention unprofessionalism. That is not the sentiment most often heard with regards to him. If anything further occurs in the basement, please know that it would be me you would deal with if you were to contact us. I won't hold my breath, but wanted to make sure you knew I was aware of the situation and wanted to be a part of a solution to your issues with us. Member, This is often a point of contention with homeowners and I completely understand. So many homeowners explain that one individual handles the repairs or has real knowledge about the basement while the other would prefer not to be a part of the inspection. Our stance at Everdry revolves around the educational process. BOTH homeowners own the residence and should be privy to the information regarding the issues, their causes, and the possible solutions. That said, I'd like to extend my apologies as well as the opportunity to have me visit your home and inspect, with or without both of you present. I hope you will give us the chance to sit down with you and look forward to hearing from you in the future. Thank you, Matthew Flynn General Manager Everdry Waterproofing
