Rockweiler did an excellent installation, and made a particular effort to complete the work on a schedule that allowed me to maximize my eligibility for energy rebates.

From the estimate to the finished work, I could not have been more impressed with their professionalism. They were so attentive to doing a great job without recommending work that did not need to be done. Their honesty and integrity were excellent. They definitely exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They left my house so clean, not a trace that any work had been done.

The job went very good. The expert that came out to write up the bid was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly inspect the attic and basement; this was part of a Green Madison, Focus On Energy project and he took the time to look over the scope of work document and checked on the findings in the document. I don't have a very big attic so the job only took about 3 hours. Even though this was a small job, they took the extra time to answer my questions, and treated me like a valued customer. They were very familiar with the Focus on Energy project and I instantly had a -$460 credit applied to my statement and I didn't even have to fill out any extra paperwork.

Rockweiler participates in both the Green Madison and Focus on Energy programs, so I was able to apply both discounts as well as the Angie's list coupon so the price ended up being very reasonable in comparison to other companies. The workmen arrived promptly on the days they were scheduled and were very professional during the time they were there. They cleaned up well at the end of the job. The main challenges I had working with this company were that the initial parts of scheduling the quote and times for getting the work done took a few more follow up calls from me to get it done within the time frame I needed than I would have liked but this appeared consistent with my interactions with others that I got quotes from and may be more of a function of my short timeline.

Rockweiler provided excellent service from start to finish. Ben, our estimator came out twice to our house because I had questions about additional services after the first consult. He arrived on time and priced out everything separately which allowed us to choose which options were best for us. Their office staff who called was very professional and scheduled our job promptly. Then Scoob and Justin came out to perform the install of the insulation. They were very friendly and even answered the questions that my daughter asked. :) They did a good job explaining everything, worked hard and cleaned up after they were done with the install. We are so glad that we went with Rockweiler. Their prices were fair AND they even honored the discount for being an Angie's list member. We would go with them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Rockweiler Insulation came to our house and provided an estimate for services that we requested as well as some that they thought would be helpful to increase the energy efficiency of our home. They then came to our house and sealed our lights, connected bathroom fans to the outside vents, wrapped our skylights, checked around the chimney and installed insulation to R-50 value in our attic.

I called to get an estimate on insulation work we needed done in our attic, basement, and crawlspace. The man who answered took down my information and said someone would call. Over a week later I called back because no one had called. Brian came out the next day to check out the work we wanted done to create the estimate. He looked it over, gave me some great information, and then wrote down my email address to send the estimate. Over a week went by and I had not received the estimate, so I called him. He had emailed it to the wrong email address so he had to send it again. The actual estimate looked good. At this point we discussed having an energy audit done on our house so we could received state or federal rebates for the work being done and the extra cost associated with it. After thinking about it for a couple weeks, I contacted Brian to confirm we wanted to go forward with the work. I was told that the energy inspector would be contacting me for an appointment and we would go from there. A week later I received an email saying the inspector was out on vacation for another week and at that point I would be contacted. I never heard another word from Brian or the energy auditor and have since had the energy audit and insulation work completed by a different company.

We had them come over to see our garage for an estimate on insulating it. they said they would mail it to us within the week (much longer than other companies) and we have never heard from them again. Since we found them with a good rating on Angie's List this is very disappointing. Apparently, they did send the proposal but it got dumped into junk mail. I tried to change the grade above to N/A until we decided if we were going to use them and then once they finished the work but it wouldn't let me so the grade of C above is really nonidicative of their performance and more of a stopgap until I can put in a more accurate review.

As indicated above, problems scheduling prep work and the Insulation were frustrating and resulted in a delay of six months between the two steps. There was a breakdown in communication between contractors and several calls had to be made to Rockweiler to get a commitment.
Description of Work: Difficulties in Scheduling and Communicating to schedule were frustrating... Not coordinated well between contractors doing prep work and insulators. Estimate low... Amount needed above ceilings was much more than anticipated... Had insulation blown into exterior walls and ceiling... as recommended in an energy star assessment ... The installers were timely, kept me posted on progress, problems... cleaned affected areas. I was very satisfied with their work. The area above the ceiling is between floors on an older Condo and the space was much greater than anticipated... There has been significant improvement in heating cost reduction. I do not use the air conditioner very often and can not judge the effectiveness. There also has been significant reduction in exterior sound and sound withing the building.

I got an estimate only. I decided in favor of another company.
Description of Work: I had an energy audit done earlier this year, and contacted two insulation companies for estimates, including Rockweiler. I was very pleased with their professionalism. However, during the energy efficiency upgrade process, I learned that blown in fiberglass is inferior to blown-in celluse in terms of efficiency, and other areas. However, they recommend blown-in fiberglass instead. The differences between fiberglass and cellulose described on their website are highly biased in favor of fiberglass over cellulose, contrary to most other information sources comparing the two. The final factor was the cost. Their bid came in at over $800 higher than the other company. I went with the other company.

Pat (salesman) responded quickly and provided a detailed list of the services. He also kept me up to date on my requests.I called for the person that completed the contract to discuss installation and she did not take my call but referred me to someone else. Must have been too busy.Installers did install insulation. One or both of them had trouble with their staple guns and drove about 20 staples into shelving and did not remove them. Left their mess for me to clean up.The drywall installers moved some shelving and discovered no insulation or vapor barrier behind the shelf system. They completed the insulation job before starting the drywall.I called again to discuss my payment and installation with the officer that sent me the estimate and am still waiting for a return call. This has been over a week ago.

In Madison, Wisconsin; these are the go-to guys. Just check out all the Angie's list reviews. That influenced my choice. The price was not the lowest of 4 contractors, but the Rockweiler rep. was the only one who would guarantee his crew could get behind the aluminum siding without wreaking it. This is a 90 year old house with several challenges, including aluminum siding that was nailed on too tight, and a very crowded basement. All went well, and the new baby spent her first Wisconsin winter in comfort.

Only complaint was a had a bit of a delay in getting the call to schedule the actual date, every thing else went great. the original on site visit was excellent and gave good advice. All the work was great, really liked the team that did the work. Best of all using less to heat the house by a large amount.

From start to finish, I was was please that I chose Rockweiler. Our estimator, Ben made our options quite clear, explaining that they couldn't always be confident what their insulating options were until access could be provided (by cutting some holes in interior walls). The installation crew was considerate and pleasant to work with, and on the day we needed to get an estimator on site to discuss the viability of an alternate access option, one was sent out promptly. When I sent them a photo of some minor drywall damage that happened during the work, they arranged to have it tended to without dispute. There was a small issue of one of the densepack insulation being blown into the garage, and when I brought it up, the installer immediately replied that they would sprayfoam that seam and clean up the mess. The flat rubber roof on a 2nd floor bathroom was probably insulated to R6 before this work, and would easily get 12-18and quot; of ice buildup every winter: now it gets none. While much better than it was before, my house is short of perfect for insulation. There is a section of a valley where an addition meets the original house that still melts snow much too soon. I had them return to discuss it, but I was disappointed to hear it was the best they could do. There are other hotspots on my roof that indicate heat loss, and from where I sit today I can watch the icicles drip. The absolute best path would have been to rip off all the roof and decking down to the A-frames and backside of the drywall, but that was not a budget reality. In all, their staff was professional and pleasant to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others, I just wish they could have solved my heat loss problem on that valley better.
Description of Work: Rockweiler added insulation to the roofline and attic areas in our modified Cape Cod home, along with full spray foam insulation of our crawlspace walls and sills. In accessible side attic areas, spray foam was used on the backside of the visible roof decking, in other parts, densepack cellulose on upslopes, and in the area where a flat attic is, insulation was brought to R50.

They seemed to be excellent at what they were doing. They cleaned up nicely after the job was done. They kept me informed about what was being done. It did take a little longer than I would have liked to get the work scheduled, they were busy. I wanted it done before the cold came on. But I was probably calling at their busy time of the year. The workers were very professional and very efficient. They were very accommodating to the disruption of the process.

I am very pleased with the work the crews did on the attics, the ducts and both interior and exterior. They corrected an ice dam problem by using foam insulation and they installed six foot air channels around every duct. They blew R50 insulation in the attic after they were done. I would definitely use them again.

I believe that the price was competitive. First, they came over and inspected what I needed. They told me that the bathroom ceiling fan was out and it was improperly vented. They recommended somebody to come in and replace the fan and run a tube out through the peak of the house. Once that was done, they came back and insulated the attic. They also closed up the door for me because we are never going to use it again for any storage or anything. It was all done in one morning and we were satisfied with that. We had no complaints.

The work was fine. They were responsive, worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. They did what they could. I have a Cape Cod, and they weren't really able to get to a part of it, but that was not their problem. I was perfectly satisfied with their work. Excellent. professional. Informative, knowledgeable and honest estimate. Pat had many suggestions and options if I wanted to do more or less. Felt very comfortable about estimate and work to be done. Bid was not lowest. About $300 more than other but felt better about fiber fill product and also timing of job. 2 men came to do job. Efficient and thorough. I watched the process for awhile to see actually what was happening. I also was watching number of bags of filler used. Hard to imagine that much went into the walls. No wonder they were ice cold during the winter!
Description of Work: 1960's single story ranch hame home had one board of wood siding removed all the way around the house to have fiber fill insulation blown in. Siding replaced with minimal visibility that boards were ever removed. (I was planning on painting anyway and they knew that) Area pretty cleaned up afterward. Some plantings got smushed but had to in order to get to house siding. Workers friendly, on time and finshed whole job in one day. Used 22 bags of filler. Can notice difference in less noise from outside and less use of air conditioning. I can't wait to see how much $ I'll save in heating costs this winter.
