The most expensive service suggested would be encapsulating out chimney in the basement to stop air leakage. We decided instead to have the chimney torn down to the attic floor and clear more space for remodelling.. Weatherization Services would take care of this part of the project and would cover the holes in both the roof and the attic floor. We are still thinking through having this work done.

Late arrival but called to say he would be late. Went up in attic for 2 minutes. Came down and said the insulation was adequate. Had asked him to check for a leak (I noted water spots on the ceiling). He said the water might be coming in from the chimney. Asked him for recommendations as to who could fix the problem. Never heard back from them. $75.00 for 2 minutes of inspection and no replies as to my inquiry about chimney.

They came at the agreed upon time and when he thought he would be a couple of minutes late he called to tell me. Very professional and courteous and thorough in the inspection and explanation of what he was looking for in the attic. Also emailed a complete report of his findings. Recommended larger CFM bathroom exhaust fans to help control moisture in the house during the winter months which I plan to replace myself. Did not pressure me for any follow-up service by his company, only reported on his finding which I appreciated very much. Great job and I would recommend to anyone wondering about their attic insulation, moisture or critter infestation.

Very good. There is one spot where they added insulation in the basement that still has a draft but overall work is very good.

They performed blower door test, energy audit with infrared camera, checked my attic and made recommend ations.

Called and emailed to schedule appointment back in November. Must have slipped thru the cracks..never heard back to either request. Will see?

From my last review of them, I told how professional they were and how they took care of everything. This is now a year later and I waited until now so I could write about the HUGE difference having the work done has made to the comfort in our home and to our monthly heating and electric bill. We no longer have drafts, and our rooms were much warmer during the winter. In the summer, my air conditioning stayed in the house where it should and we were able to keep the thermostat at a lower temp in the winter and higher temp in the summer and stay comfortable. I know last winter was mild, but we did have some really cold days and we didn't have any drafts or cold rooms. This last summer was nice and hot, but our house stayed cool. We had chosen to have the outer walls of the attic storage areas done so the storage spaces would not be freezing or hot. They stayed at an even temperature. The water heater works great and has saved us on our electric bill as well. The new fan in the bathroom has taken out the excess moisture and makes that much better as well. I can see from the other reviews that Fred has been making many other customers happy. For those of you that have just had the work done, you will see really nice results over the winter months. For those of you that are just thinking about it, I can say that yes, it is a big job, and can get messy depending upon how much you have done, but you can feel secure in hiring Weatherization Services. They will do an excellent job, address any concerns you have and give you very fair prices.

I purchased a $99 special on insulation. The company came to assess the job and told us that we needed much for that the special offer. I asked for a quote which didn't arrive. I had to call the company and ask for it. When it eventually came it was a lot more than I expected, therefore I felt I had to go and get other quotes. This leaves me with a $99 service I have payed for and may not need.

We had to reschedule our first visit due to Fred having the Flu. I can't hold that against anyone because it happens to all of us sooner or later. The second appointment went flawless. He came over and began the test on our house. After he was done, about an hour later, he showed us the results. I was most pleased when he said that ours was one of the tightest and best insulated homes he has seen. He did say there were a few very minor areas that we could improve such as weatherstripping around some doors and such but overall nothing major was needed. I am glad that we had this done to set my mind at ease before I went off and started replacing windows or other insulation that would have been much more expensive. I would recommend this process for anyone before launching into major home repairs that you may not need.

They are experts and took the time to explain the energy audit process and taky you through it step by step. They explained very well what they were doing and interpreted the results in real time. By the time they were done I had a very good understanding of where our home needed more insulation.

We had two plumbers and a roofer but no one could determine where there was a leak. Weatherization Services found it immediately and repaired it.

The audit itself went well and was very informative. When I did not receive the report for a long time I emailed the owner. He responded quickly, however his response came across as very defensive rather than simply apologizing and resending it. He apparently had sent it but somehow I never received it-fine, a misunderstanding, but resending me the email as proof rubbed me the wrong way. He also did not then inquire as to whether we wanted to them to do any of the recommended work.

The project went very well. It took a lot of preparation on my part, rather like when one paints the interior walls of the home. I had to move items away from the exterior walls in order for the men to blow in the insulation. They covered absolutely everything with thin clear plastic and nothing was covered in any insulation when they finished. They removed pictures from walls to prevent any breakage. Their protection prevented any damage and they cleaned up so well afterwards that it was as if no such work had been done--vacuum/sweep/wet down. After they finished they filled in all of the approximately 2 1/2" holes in the walls, in preparation for touching up the paint. The men were very efficient and competent in their work. They were considerate of the family, including the grandchildren and the pet rabbits. When they finished on a Tuesday evening it was the first cold night (early on Oct 9th). As it grew colder in the evening and night I was amazed at how warm my house was with no heat on and no drafts. Fred , the owner, and the one who gave me the estimate, was great to work with, and his men were too. I had received an estimate on how much I would save in energy with the weatherization work, but I think it will be much more than was estimated. My house was old and drafty and I was heating the outside yard, but not this year. I am eager to get my WE energy bill next month. Weatherization Services is a very competent company and I am happy to recommend it to anyone who wants a warm house with less energy cost.

The vendor informed me informed me to return the big deal because he was able to give me a better offer.

We don't know when we'll follow through with some of the suggestions as money is tight in our household right now. But when we do, we'll do it with Weatherization Services. Felt very comfortable with Fred, the gentleman who did the audit.

I purchased Weatherization Services as an Angie's List - Big Deal. It was $75.00 and well worth it. Fred came out on time and was friendly and professional. The Big Deal was for an attic inspection to check: insulation levels, air leaks, water leaks, rodent activity, and anything else he could find up there. After he came down from the attic, he explained all that he had seen and what needed, or could be done. One of the things was that a bathroom fan was not venting the way it should out the roof. Instead it was venting out a soffit vent which is not as efficient. Also explained how some water marks we had seen were not leaks, but condensation marks. Told us the insulation amount was fine. All in all Fred gave us a lot of information on our attic. He will be sending an estimate for changing the bath fan exit. Have not received it as yet. So far, we highly recommend Fred and his company Weatherization Services. Oh yes, and he also found someone's hammer up there in all that insulation.

I sent them an email after I purchased the deal and I never heard anything back. They are completely unresponsive.

Overall, I cannot rave enough. Fred, the owner, remembered the initial evaluation and came promptly to check the work done since his last visit. At no charge, he used his detector and was able to confirm that the insulation had been done properly.

Even though they weren’t able to perform the inspection, I had a good experience trying to work with them, and I would hire them in the future if I needed them.

Weatherization came out and scanned my house within a couple of days from when they contacted me. The next week they completed the job. They were in the house working a couple of @ten hour days. There was one hard to reach spot, and they came back to make sure it was done. They did add some insulation at that time. They did clean up vey well. There was a fine dust left on some wall surfaces to wipe off ourselves.

Punctual, clean, neat, very fast, polite and informative. An excellent overall experience.

Great experience even though some initial scheduling issues.

They had to order the unit that I wanted, but scheduled the installation far enough out. Two day before the installation, they called to say the unit had arrived, but due to a paperwork the unit had been returned. The rescheduled and everything went as planned.
