Nimmer Heating & Air Conditioning

Mr. Nimmer spent considerable time with me on explaining the different types off systems used in todays high efficiency furnaces and their operation and possible fuel and electricity savings. He guided me through the rather confusing choice of manufacturer rebates, federal tax credits, and focus on energy reward to get me the best ultimate cost and energy energy saving. His office completed all the imformation on the applications for the rebates for my review and signature. The work was all done in one in one day to my satisfaction and checked out and operating when they left. I watched the crew the entire time they were here and they did a neat professional looking installition. I waited to make a report until cold weather to see what savings would show up on energy bills and I am pleased with what I see so far.

Mark Nimmer came to my house on Tuesday morning because my furnace stopped working. He informed me that my secondary heat exchanger was plugged, and that the furnace manufacturer had a recall for that part. He gave me two options, replace the part which would be covered under the recall, or the manufacturer would give me $900.00 towards a new furnace. The furnace and air conditioning were old, and I had other issues with them, so the choice was easy. I told him to install the new equipment. Nimmers crew arrived Wednesday morning, they were extremely neat, and efficiant. The entire install looks and works great. They were informative, and did more than we agreed on, without charging me. This company went above and beyond what they were suposed to do. WOW!

When I called initially to set up an appointment (non-emergency), I was told they would give me a call back to schedule with me once they confirmed their current schedule for the next day or two. Two days later, I still hadn't received a call back so I had to call them again. The appointment was scheduled for the next week, and after that initial problem the service was great. The repairman called to say he was on his way, he assessed the furnace and determined the solenoid should be replaced. He had to go to his warehouse nearby to get the part, but was only gone about 20-30 minutes. Overall, it took about 1.5 hrs and the furnace has been working great since.

Nimmer is the only company we will be using in the future for our heating/cooling needs. I called Nimmer Heating and Air Conditioning because Donavan, the first company we contacted, never got back to us. Am I ever glad they didn't!! I called Nimmer Heating on a Friday afternoon and on Monday morning we got help. ( I didn't want to pay overtime for the weekend). So, on Monday morning a repairman came out to try to fix our old furnace. Having replaced the motor, he then discovered that there was another thing that didn't work. Both of these replacements would have added up to a price that would have been too much to put into an old furnace. So, the plan was to install a new furnace the next week. However, the schedule opened up so it could be installed the next day. While I was outside with the repairman, checking the carbon monoxide values coming out of our pipes, still on that first day, my neighbor drove up. She said, "Oh, you have my favorite company there!" I had not spoken with her about our need for furnace work, and was delighted to hear from her that she had had wonderful experiences with the company. The next day, one person came to work on removal. He was two minutes early. Another two people came through later on, one of whom was an electrician. No muss; no fuss. It all went smoothly. Another thing I really appreciated was that all the relevant paperwork was provided to us, right away, for all the various rebates. They had already been filled out by Nimmer. This could not have been a better experience from start to finish. Normally, it can be so awkward to talk about money, financing, credit cards, being short of cash, etc., with a company that is providing a product and service. The two people I dealt with, Mark and Patty Nimmer were exceptionally respectful and helpful, patient and understanding as we worked on a payment plan. I just didn't happen to have $4500.00 on hand at the moment! We will refer anyone who asks to this company. They deserve our loyalty and a chance to serve you, too! You will not regret giving Nimmer a try. I could not be happier with them. And I am pleased to be able to recommend them to you!!

Nimmer provided absolutely outstanding service and value: . I called at 9:00 am and was told that Nimmer would do their best to get to me that day, and would call back within an hour to confirm a time on that or the following day. . By 9:30 I got a call back to let me know that someone would be out between 12 and 1 pm. . At 12:05, Kevin arrived to check out why the furnace wasn't working. . By 12:30, Kevin determined that leaves had gotten into our air intake (during the wind storm earlier in the week) and that we had a clogged drain trap. He cleared them out and, voila, all was fixed. Absolutely a great experience - including tips to avoid similar problems in the future!!!

The good news is that the furnace is in tip-top shape. Kevin was in and out in under 40 minutes. He pointed out the humidifier for the furnace needed replacing, and said that I could get it at the local hardware store for a couple of bucks less than he would offer. He also made the furnace burn fuel more efficiently by adjusting the manifold--something that my last inspector didn't do. This was a winning choice for me. If ever I need a Heating and AC emergency repair, I'm going with Nimmer.

John arrived punctually, accommodated my request that he remove his shoes in the house by going to his truck and getting over-the-shoe booties. He got to work on the furnace and asked for our vacuum cleaner to suction out the furnace parts - I would expect him to furnish an industrial one for this purpose. Going back and forth to his truck, he didn't remove his booties so he did track in dirt to the house. After he left I noticed that the black tube leading to the drain was severed halfway through, which I didn't remember previously, and that it no longer led to the drain. (Do you take pictures? - I have one.) So I called the company and he did return and replace the hose, noting that it was part of the air conditioning unit rather than the furnace and something I hadn't paid for. I appreciate his returning and repairing this, but hope that he was more careful about his other work than the factors I could see.

Mark came to quote the job early one morning, in order to accommodate my work schedule. He came up with a proposal for the work I asked him to quote, and also offered a couple of additional options for zoning, but without any pressure to expand the scope of the job. He took the time to understand the floor plan and intended use for the space, and had flexible and helpful suggestions on placement of the different vents. Tim and Tony did the installation in about half a day. They were very efficient and very courteous. They took the time to confirm all of the placements of the vents before they started and made a slight adjustment on the fly to improve the location of one of the return grilles. When he was about to cut through our Hardiplank siding for the exhaust vent line, Tony came in and told us "it's going to smell like something is burning, but everything is okay," and I know my wife greatly appreciated that warning. When they were all finished, they explained what they had installed and showed us where to adjust the dampers, etc.

Our air conditioner stopped working. Called on a non-emergency basis and made an appointment for the next day. The serviceman arrived at the appointed time, listened well to my description of the problem and explained that it was probably the transformer. He was right, but had to search for the cause which included a trip through the crawl space! Found chipmunk chewed wiring on the far side of the house, replaced the wiring, replaced the transformer, left no messes and charged $117.18 which was the hourly rate plus the parts. I thought that was great, no trip charges, complete explanation of the work and a working air conditioner. I will use them again so thanks for helping me decide to use them.

They were clean, neat, courteous, prompt and efficient. The price was very resonable and I am very pleased with the result. Mark, the owner was great to work with. I would definitely use them again without hesitation

It went great. No problems, he even started up our water heater, as we couldn't get it started.

When we went to turn on our AC it wouldn't blow air. The next morning I called to make a service appointment. They called me back to work with my schedule. Patty in the office was extremely nice and accommodating. She called back in the afternoon to let me know that they had a technician free in 30 mins. That gave me enough time to make it home and meet him. The technician worked on the AC and replaced a switch for the fan. He also did a regular service check. It took him about 45 mins total. He stated that since it was such an easy fix, he only charged me for the service check. He was very nice and very trusting. He explained the fix and let me know that our AC and furnace were very old. But he did not push to sell me a new one, but did give me a heads up. We have worked with Nimmer for the last five years and we've never had any problems. Very, very nice company and employees. We have a very old AC and Furnace and know we will need to get them replaced this Fall. This will be one of the companies we will get an estimate from. Hopefully, they will be competitive and we will chose them, because they are great to work with.

They were very professional, from the office staff to the service man. Arrived promptly at scheduled time. Performance check was in depth & accurate. I was very impressed since my father had a heating & air conditioning business for 30 years- I could not stump the service man. AAA+ rating, 5 stars

My furnace stopped producing hot air and called Nimmer on Monday morning. They scheduled for a service technician to come out in the afternoon. Kevin was friendly and efficient. He found that build-up was preventing it from igniting, and needed a cleaning. He was in and out in 30 minutes. He provided some information on new furnace options since mine was 20+ years old and was showing signs of problems.

Very well- after the inital service call showed expensive repairs were needed for an 18+ year old furnace, they provided several furnace and efficiency choices, explaining the differences and energy tax credit eligiblity for all of them. Installation was quick and clean.

The technician arrived on time, disassembled the wall heating unit and found it was loaded with lint and dust that had accumulated over 20+ years. It was at a point where the blower couldn't function due to so much lint/dust and frankly, seemed like a fire waiting to happen. All this was cleaned out and the technician showed me how to clean this in the future which was extremely helpful. After the clean out, the blower part was oiled and the heating unit was put back together and good to go.

Woke up to a cold house. Called Nimmer at 8am and by noon John was at my door. He had the problem with my furnace diagnosed in 5 minutes and fixed within 15 minutes. Good price and great service. I'd use them again!

They were very good and terrific. The price that they charged was $6256 and I thought that it was reasonable. I would use their services in the future too.

We woke up to a freezing cold house. We called Nimmer and they were able to get out to our house that afternoon. The repair was quick and painless....and we learned a lesson or two along the way. Very helpful and professional.

He stated it needed a new part and he installed it. It was gas release valve. I recently had the gas company out and they found a leak in the boiler where they had installed the new part. Nimmer was responsive and they did replace the part. I was pleased the responded, so quickly. They were nice and friendly.

Our furnace ceased functioning reliably sometime on Thursday, 12/10/09, when the outdoor temperature was around 0 degrees. We arrived home in the evening to find the house temperature around 55 degrees. We were able to coax some heating from the furnace overnight. We then called Nimmer first thing the following morning. They were able to send Kevin out only a couple of hours later. Kevin was the person from Nimmer who coaxed our furnace back to life about one year ago during a similar cold snap. Kevin replaced the ($27) flame sensor. He also worked to fix an internal water leak. Shortly after his visit, we noticed further evidence of the same water leak. We called Nimmer, and Kevin was able to come back that afternoon. Digging deeper into the furnace, he found the actual source of the leak and fixed it. No extra charge for the return visit.

I had to relocate the heat pump because of its increased size.

A wonderful man came out from the company. There happened to be a wasp nest in the furnace that was rattling around. The nest got really hard over time and was just going around in the furnace. He removed it for me. They are all really nice people to work with. I'll call them again.

Mark came out to give the estimate and was very professional and polite. I received quite a few estimates and Nimmer was right in line with all of them. It was a pretty large and complicated job removing old boiler, changing water lines, adding a gas line, moving a water heater, with multiple water temps for radiators and in floor heat. Nimmer had at times up to 5 people working at a time. All the guys were very polite, professional and just plain nice. I had two different guys explain the workings of the boiler to me to make sure I got it and they all were easy to talk to and answered all my questions.

I used a coupon to pay them. They were very timely, very polite, and very courteous. The woman had told me that the air conditioner would be clean after the tune-up, but it looked pretty dirty after they were done. They obviously hadn?t cleaned it. I also feel they hadn?t done some other things that they said they would do. I would probably not use them again.
