Nimmer Heating & Air Conditioning

It went well. We called Nimmer after another company was unable to identify the problem. Nimmer was professional in keeping us informed of when they service man would arrive. The initial repairmen did a diagnosis and replaced the part - the furnace did not respond. The owner of the company personally called us and said he wanted to take a look at it himself, and was very responsive to our calls. He was clear in his explanations of the problems and his concerns about finding the real issue. When we decided to replace the furnace he quickly pulled in two people and we had a new furnace installed in a few hours. He also gave us credit for the previous repair work that had been performed on the old furnace.

My furnace unit had stopped working, then started again. I called Nimmer and they made an appointment for that morning. Of course the unit was working fine when the repairman arrived. He checked it out and made some adjustments, charging $74. Then within two hours of his departure it stopped working again. I called Nimmer and the serviceman was back in another two hours. He discovered a need for some kind of starter component, got in his vehicle drove across town to get the component before the shop closed and installed it.

The entire process with Mark and Nimmer HVAC was very smooth. Mark is extremely knowledgeable about boiler systems and recommended ways to improve the efficiency of ours. His insight was worth more then the $300 we paid on a home inspection when we bought the house a year back. The estimate was that floor install, boiler modification would be 2 days, they were done in a day and a half. The floor heating is great and was a great option since we wanted to add space to our kitchen. The boiler modification will allow us to expand and renovate our basement bathroom without any worries. We plan on using Nimmer for our future AC install needs.

SCHEDULING WAS EASY. THE ESTIMATE FOR REPLACEMENT WAS FREE. MARK IS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND GAVE ME THREE OPTIONS IN HIS PROPOSAL. HE EXPLAINED ALL OPTIONS AND THE ADVANTAGES OF EACH. ALL THREE OPTIONS WERE VERY COMPETITIVE IN PRICE COMPARED TO PREVIOUS PROPOSALS. INSTALL DAY WAS A BREEZE. TIM AND JOHN ARRIVED AS SCHEDULED AND WENT RIGHT TO WORK. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONABLE. THEY COVERED THE CARPET TO AVOID TRACKING IN DIRT AND SNOW (WHICH WAS MUCH APPRECIATED) AND KEPT A CLEAN WORK AREA IN THE BASEMENT. UPON COMPETITION TIM REVIEWED THE SYSTEM DETAILS INCLUDING THE NEW PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTAT AND MEDIA AIR CLEANER AND TOLD ME NOT TO HESITATE TO GIVE THE OFFICE A CALL IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS. THE ENTIRE PROCESS WAS BEYOND EASY FROM START TO FINISH. I PLAN TO SIGN-UP FOR THE MAINTENANCE PLAN FOR MY HEAT AND AIR UNITS AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND NIMMER.

Work was stop and go because parts were not all available at the same time. Since the condensing unit specified in the quote was not available, I got an upgrade at no extra charge. The thermostat malfunctioned soon after installation and the system was down for several hot days. Nimmer responded promptly to the problems and made it right.

I needed to get some estimates for my Mom, who is a senior citizen and was having furnace problems. Since I live in Los Angeles, I provided my nephew with the phone numbers of a few heating companies. My nephew's phone call was promptly returned and a day was scheduled for someone to come to my Mom's home to provide an estimate. Mark Nimmer, the Owner, personally came and promptly provided a written estimate for my Mom. When I came to Milwaukee for the holidays, I called Mark Nimmer with some questions I had regarding the work to be performed. Mark was extremely friendly and answered all my questions, so we decided to go with Nimmer Heating & Air Conditioning because they were reasonably priced and I liked their customer service. The work was scheduled to be done within two weeks, despite it being the busy season. The workers who performed the work were on time, very professional and extremely friendly. I would highly recommend Nimmer Heating & Air Conditioning.

Kevin tested the furnace mechanics and found the faulty switch. He spent quite a bit of time crawling up in the attic to trace the pipes and to try to figure out what could be causing the leak. He ran into a firewall which ultimately kept him from getting to the full length of the pipe. His recommendation was that I hire a handyman who could take out the wet drywall and possibly cure the leak once he could get at it from the room side of the ceiling. He suggested that I wouldn't have to call the furnace folks back again if a handyman was able to fix the leak as well we the ceiling.

The service representative, Kevin, arrived right on time. He was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The person I dealt with to make the appointment was very courteous also. I will definitely work with them again and highly recommend them.

My furnace was making funny noises all weekend. I called Monday to arrange for annual cleaning/tune up. Because I had concerns about the noise, they got me on the schedule for that day. Kevin was my technician. He was on time and pleasant. And was nice to my Golden who kept butting in for petting. He said everything looked ok and that the noise was most likely due to the need for lubricant/oil. Easy fix. Also, Angie's List members get a 10% discount.

Kevin was very helpful and answered many questions that I had and explained just how a boiler works. There are 2 things that need replacing but are not critical at this time, he wrote them down on the work sheet and said to call when I decide to replace them.

He arrived promptly and it took him a bit of time (about 1hr) to do the thermostat because the wires were not marked so he had to find which wires came from the furnace. There was no schematic on the furnace. He did a great job and was very nice! (We supplied the thermostat). Great price!

Excellent. Prompt response to our call, even though we were not an existing customer. Our previous vendor was too busy to respond. Nimmer called back quickly & Mark came out himself. Found that relays were wired incorrectly, causing damage to the transformer in the zone controller. He performed a temporary fix and ordered a replacement controller. He called to answer questions and scheduled the date/time to complete the repair. He was on time. We found Mark to be very knowledgeable and professional, as well as a very nice guy. We will use Nimmer for all our heating and A/C needs going forward.

Nimmer was the only company that immediately responded to my request on time and said they would check when they would be able to send an employee. I was contacted as promised and the technician showed up right on time.

It was a very good experience. They handled the phone conversation very well, they explained the system to me, and the price was one of the best I'd received. The installation was superb, and they did a few extra things, that they didn't have to do, and they did them very well.

Kevin was on time, polite and answered all my questions clearly.

Mark was prompt, professional & patient when explaining our options of systems. It was very much appreciated when he asked if we could wait until the colder weather hits in order to receive a discount. We had already made it through the hottest months with window units so why not wait.

Mark Nimmer, the owner of the company, returned our initial phone call the same day and came to our house the next day. He explained why our old AC was not working and gave us an estimate of installing a new system. Two men came to do the job (2 days) the next week. The men were hard workers, quiet, careful of keeping our house clean (they brought along their own vacuum), and cleaned up after each step of the process. Mark came at the end of the project to check out and fine tune the system. It has been working very well since then. In fact, after living in our house for 13 years, it is the first time that we can say that we have Central air conditioning! I must admit that because of the glowing reports about Nimmer Heating & AC on Angies List, and that Mark had installed a furnace for us at another house 13 years ago, we did not get other estimates so I can't compare pricing. But our house is over 4000 sq. ft. and I believe the price was appropriate for a job well done.

The entire experience with Nimmer Heating & AC was excellent. Mark answered all of our questions, was very informative, and was not pushy when providing the estimate. Tim and Brent were on time to perform the installation and completed it on time. The workmanship was great. They cleaned up nicely, provided us with information on the furnace and AC, and were very courteous. Patty promptly provided us with the rebate information, forms, and warranty information after the job was completed.

It was great to have Mark give recommendations and options for the issues we are experiencing. Price and efficiency are both huge factors on an investment property, and he was able to find solutions that are cost effective and will resolve heating problems.

Came out within 1/2 an hour (have an elderly tenant) on the hottest day of the year and had the problem solved in under an hour! They charged a flat one hour service call fee for FAR less than 3 other companies I called and since I wasn't able to be there when the technician arrived, he called me right away and told me the problem and the amount of the bill and was able to take my credit card over the phone. I would highly recommend Nimmer to everyone I know!

The technician arrived on time, completed the work as described, and answered all of my questions. He was personable and reliable. The office staff was knowledgeable.

Mark Nimmer provided virtually all of the information initially requested in my RFP without prodding, unlike other vendors. He is very pleasant and easy to talk with and trust. Throughout my decision process, which lasted several weeks, he answered all of my questions patiently and returned calls promptly. His bid was in the middle of the pack, but what set Nimmer Heating apart was the good feeling I got about the service I would be receiving in the coming years. Patty in the office also is unfailingly friendly and efficient. The furnace installers, Tim and Brent, were just as courteous, knowledgable and hard-working as Mark and Patty. They were willing to take the time to educate me, and they left the work areas spotless. I already feel like a valued long-time customer. This type of quality contractor is hard to find these days; I'm very pleased.

FANTASTIC! Kevin came out very timely, got the job done in short order, he explained everything to me, and was very pleasant. Nimmer is now our HVAC service provider. I can't say enough about the wonderful service.

All aspects were positive, from scheduling the appointment, on-time arrival, and pleasant, professional nature of the service technician/provider. I found their standard tune-up price ($68.00) to be competitive, and when you account for the 10% discount. We had some freon added to the 3rd unit and were charged only for the freon (i.e., the labor was included in the tune-up).

The technician was personable and completed the work quickly.
