Nimmer Heating & Air Conditioning

Mark provided a fair estimate and was very knowledgeable about heating systems in older homes. He explained the entire process clearly. Installation was very efficient. A minor problem with the water pumping system was followed up on rapidly and resolved. Follow up calls were made to inquire about the system; a follow up "check up" visit late in the season was initiated by the company. Overall, this was a very efficient and satisfying process. The new system worked very well and saved us money during this long, cold winter.

The pump on our 49 year old boiler was making a lot of noise. We decided that it was time to replace the boiler and called Nimmer along with four other HVAC companies to get estimates for a zoned boiler and for an indirect fired hot water heater. Mark Nimmer arrived on time, looked carefully at the old system and put together a professional detailed estimate before leaving. Once we had decided on a Buderis boiler, we chose Nimmer because the price was reasonable (middle of three for contractors installing Buderis) and because we believed that the company would perform the work as agreed without surprises. We consulted with a knowledgeable professional to find out about Buderis and to look over the bids and help us decide. It took approximately 1.5 days to install the boiler and hot water heater. The installers arrived on time and were very professional. We were consulted with regard to placement of equipment and thermostats. They checked to insure the system was working, cleaned up after the work was done and took time to answer any questions. They also provided the forms and instructions for Focus on Energy rebates. We were pleased with the installation and service provided by Nimmer.

Called and spoke with Mark about various air cleaners and air purification systems. After describing the problem, he suggested going with the most economical, as it would take care of 99% of our problem. I appreciated this, as he didn't try to sell me more than I needed. Nimmer was slightly cheaper than other quotes I had received, and were extremely friendly and professional. The service tech, Brent, was very courteous and professional, and he was a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely contact them again.

Not only was Nimmer one of the lowers bids, but Mark was also extremely helpful in giving me advice in maintaining the heating ducts. He was also willing to work with me for a payment plan. His team was able to start right away and also able to accommodate my schedule. They all worked well together and were great with the clean-up.

I was immediately connected to a knowledgable service person who took all the details of the situation and assured me that there was no immediate cause for alarm. Appointment made for follow-up assessment, later this spring when annual air conditioning maintenance & inspeaction will be done.

Mark Nimmer sat down and explained everything to me; he was friendly and professional. The workmen were efficient, clean, and friendly. They arrived @ 7:30am, and I had heat at 2:00pm, other companies quoted 2 day jobs, Nimmer heating finished in one.

Nimmer did a great job tuning-up our furnaces in December and they indicated they would be prepared to replace an inducer assembly which sounded like it could fail within the near future. When the assembly did indeed fail on a frigid January Sunday, we called to request service. Twice. After over two hours of feeling our temperature drop, we finally concluded Nimmer went to the Packer game instead of listening to their emergency phone messages and we reluctantly called another company. Of course, about a half hour after the other company had called back and we'd authorized their service call, Nimmer finally called us, wondering whether our call had been answered. It grieves me that Nimmer did not follow through earlier. We paid way too much to the other company. A subsequent call to Nimmer for information about the cost of their replacement part was handled in a professional manner.

It was a very smooth and positive experience. I called and left a message, the company got back to me within the hour and scheduled me for the afternoon. When I told them that I had my daughter's doctor appt. in the later part of the afternoon, they worked to get the technician to my house earlier. The technician was courteous and got right to business. I thought they were very fair with their pricing. I will be using them again in the future, if nothing else, to do the maintenance work on the furnace. Highly recommended.

It was a great experience. I have used Seider in the past and they always seem to want me to get a new furnace so it was a nice change of pace to just have a hose needing replacement.

I was very impressed with the owner of this company! He quickly got on the phone with me to assess whether they could do the work, and after carefully listening to the situation, he told me that he absolutely could send someone out to take care of it, but it would be very expensive, and really probably not necessary to have his team handle. I was so impressed with that kind of honesty ! We laughed that it would be tantamount to 'killing a mosquito with a sledgehammer!" He gave me some advice about how I could approach it on my own, and told me to call back if I encountered problems, and he would do what he could to help me. I am still working on getting that darn thing out - but I won't hesitate to call if I need more advice. And, the next time I need work done in HVAC, I will definitely call Nimmer. Of course, I will tell this story to my friends and co-workers as well.

We had 3 estimates, and this one was in the middle, but we liked their attentiveness. He explained our options and really pointed us to the appropriate choice. He was very patient with my elderly mother who had questions and needed assistance in understanding the process.

We did notice a mistake with some of the work which they took care of right away. The owner of the company, who was also the supervisor of the work, was extremely bright and helpful. He explained the process to us in a way that was not condescending and that experience was very gratifying to me.

I have a very old furnace (over 40 years old). Another company barely looked at my furnace, said they couldn't do anything "because they don't make the parts for these anymore," and proceeded to write up an order for a new and very expensive furnace. Kevin from Nimmer took the time to diagnosis the old furnace, and it turned out to be a simple fix. He was done in only 30 minutes and we had the furnace up and running! Kevin was very courteous and professional. He gave me advice and politely answered all my questions. I will definitely be calling Nimmer for any future furnace or AC issues. Thanks Kevin.

They came in way under priced. But be aware of communication problems.

They were prompt, courteous, professional and they did the work quickly. They asked for permission to reschedule the follow-up appointment. So far everything is working! The charge is for one hour of labor.

Install: June,2007, today's Date: August 21, 2007. After a couple of months, everything is still working great. I checked 4 different companies out and went with Nimmer. I liked the personalized attention that this company gave us. The proposal was very complete and precise. He could answer every question I gave him. The day of installation went very smoothly. His installers were very nice and professional. They were very careful about not damaging anything in or around the house. The work was done in 1 day. It went well. There were no complications. Everyone knew what they were doing and did their job quickly and efficiently. They explained everything to me before they left as how to operate the furnace/air conditioner. They even had the rebates forms done and ready to be processed. It was a very good experience. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Very nice to work with.

I've hired Nimmer a few times in the past, and have always had a great experience with them. Mark Nimmer went the extra mile when I made the appointment. I recently purchased the home and have no experience with boilers, and he took the time to explain several things about the system to me on the phone. The Technician that did the work was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He took the time (again) to explain several things about the unit, and also presented us with several different options for servicing the boiler. Overall, I think this is a great, customer-oriented company.

The serviceman was right on time, and managed to diagnose one part of the problem immediately. After the switch unit had been replaced, the fan still wasn't turning as fast as it should have been so he checked a few more things and found the capacitor was shot. Five minutes and a new capacitor later, everything was ship-shape again.

Our 30 year old boiler had been acting up, and we called Nimmer to look at it. Kevin came by the same day I called, and told me it needed to be replaced. I called several companies for estimates, but Mark Nimmer s enthusiasm, and product line convinced me he was the best contractor. They were competitive, but not the absolute lowest estimate we received. The installation crew was very nice and professional - but they could have cleaned up better after they left. I will continue to use Nimmer whenever we need a HVAC contractor.

THEY HAD AN ELECTRICIAN AT THE HOME AND WHEN THEY STARTED THE FURNACE UP, THERE WAS A BIG SPARK. THEY HAD TO CALL THE ELECTRICIAN BACK AND HE PROMPTLY FIXED THE PROBLEM. BUT, NOW WHEN THE HEATING IS ON, I GET LINES ON MY TV WHEN TRYING TO WATCH IT.

Not only were they exceptionally pleasant on the phone and in person, but the rep. took the time to explain what the problem is with our very old boiler. He told me what to watch for, as a precaution, until the boiler is replaced. There was no hard sell to buy the replacement from them ASAP. I will certainly put Nimmer on the top of the list of companies I get estimates from.

I called first thing in the morning when we didn't have heat, and they said they would have a technician here between 10-Noon. He called when he was on his way. He diagnosed the problem within 20 minutes, went to get a new part, came back an hour later, and installed it in 25 minutes. I was charged only one hour labor, but the part was expensive. I did a search on-line to get an idea of the markup on parts. The same part is $103 on-line, and we were charged $285. The margin is in the parts, but what can you do? There's no way we could've figured it out ourselves. The good news is that they are very reasonable on labor. Kevin is super nice and honest, but it's interesting to learn the markup on HVAC parts.
