Nimmer Heating & Air Conditioning

From the first person I spoke to on the phone (Sarah) when I first contacted Nimmer, to Patty and John, I couldn't have been more pleased as a customer. They were all professional as well as friendly. I also had an Angie's List cupon which they gladly honored. There are a lot of vendors a customer like myself could spend my money with. It's nice to know a company appreciates my business. I 'm more likely to be repeat customer.

They were very good. They were very helpful and courteous. They seem to be very knowledgeable. They respond very quickly. They are great!

The man that came out was great. He was prompt, price was as quoted, and he did fantastic work. He also did a great job of explaining everything to me.

We asked the repair person if we needed a new furnace and the tech told us no; the furnace was probably good for another 5 years. Wow! Talk about a company with integrity. So many times you read/hear about the elderly being taken advantage of by the service industry and along comes Nimmer to restore your faith! I have called Nimmer before for furnace/air conditioning problems and they have always been professional, courteous, prompt and fair. There is NO PRICE GOUGING with this company. I highly recommend them.

I called around 9a and spoke with the owner, I believe - he told me what the problem might be and the pricing - that extra info/knowledge and competitive pricing led me to choose Nimmer over the other four companies that I called. They gave me a window (same day) of 1:30-2 and he pulled up at about 1:35. He could tell by looking at it that it was probably the coupling, replaced it, oiled it (the boiler started running right away when turned on again!! It had made reallllly loud constant freight train sound before), and he observed for a bit longer to be sure it was running well. He fixed it, explained it, left the damaged part for my husband to see, wrote up the bill, gave us the AL discount and was out the door within 45 minutes. So happy it was just the coupling and not the whole motor or worse, the whole boiler! All-in-all, very happy with every aspect of the service we received from Nimmer - prompt, courteous, professional, knowledgeable.

Why would you call anyone else. I was thinking there would be no hope to get this heater repaired. These guys are extremely helpful and reasonable. I would trust what they quote.

We have had good experiences with Nimmer in the past. We made an emergency call on a very cold day as our heat had gone down to 50. They came in and said the furnace was old and not worth fixing and quoted us a new furnace. We found the quote to be high, and in the mean time, the weather warmed up and the furnace was working enough to heat the house. Thus, we have gone out to other companies and we received lower quotes. We will be going with a well regarded company (on Angie's List) that quoted the same furnace for about $1000 less.

So far the furnace is functioning very well, we don't know about the air conditioning yet. I would say they treated us very well. They did a fine job. They came at the scheduled time and were prompt. They did what they said they were going to do. They were very clean and efficient. I'd say that they did exactly what we expected.

It was 60 degrees below zero. They came out right away. It was the switch that needed fixing. He built a sheet metal barrier to stop the heat from tripping the switch. He did a great job, and the price was right too.

During the middle of a particularly cold night, our furnace began to malfunction. I called Nimmer early the next morning, and a service technician (Kevin) was able to come out to our home that afternoon. Kevin was right on time and thoroughly professional, and friendly. I watched while he worked on our furnace and peppered him with questions about furnace maintenance and longevity. He provided a lot of good advice. He was in and out in fairly short order, and the furnace has worked well since. I'd happily hire this company (and Kevin) again. They are well aware of their good standing on Angie's List. Our final job cost included the 10% discount offered to Angie's List members.

I have used this company for two years. We like that they offer coupons. They give us a discount for being a member of Angie's List. I like the technician who is honest and straight forward. He is knowledgeable and informative. They are flexible in their schedule and understanding.

Nimmer was one of 3 quotes we requested, we only received two. The quote was provided within the time frame I requested and was within the amount we had estimated the work would cost. The work was scheduled within a week and two service men came in and completed the work within 1/2 day. Following the work, they explained how the system and the new thermostat worked and cleaned up after themselves. The zoning works great, my living room is finally warm in cold weather!

I chose this company from the list because they had an award as well as offered a coupon. He came out within a day or so for repair. It turns out there was a beehive in furnace. He showed me exactly what problem was and removed the bees. He even gave suggestions on how to prevent the problem in the future. He showed up right on time and was very professional and courteous throughout the process. There was no damage to furnace and everything has been fine since then.

Professional and thorough. Explained operation of units and recommended clearing around the AC, proper filter use, and using a dehumidifier.

Nimmer Heating replaced my air conditioner drainage tube and added coolant to my outside unit in August. Everything was working fine until I turned on my heat earlier this week. A clicking noise was occurring. Nimmer came out and discovered that the drainage pipes for the furnace were not put back in place when the air conditioner problem was corrected causing the water from the furnace to not drain. They corrected it and didn't charge me anything.

Nimmer (Mark) was one of three bids we received to install SpacePak air conditioning in our 1923 home. We ultimately chose Nimmer because not only did he have the lowest price, but we also liked that he was very personable, had a small shop and he was very knowledgeable in his trade. One thing to note is that we had a hard time deciding between Nimmer and another Angie's list company that also had a high number of favorable reports. The size of the A/C unit and the number of vent outlets they recommended differed. Nimmer recommended a smaller unit which we asked him to increase to accommodate a future addition that would increase the space needed to be cooled. Then with comparable A/C units, Nimmer recommended 29 vent outlets and the competitor recommended 35. Although I still cannot reconcile the difference, I am very happy that we went with Mark and his lower number of outlets. Our 29 vents do the job of cooling the entire house. (The only room exception is the family room which has floor-to-ceiling windows throughout it.) Also, the way in which Nimmer's crew visually "balanced" the vent locations was excellent. There are just the right number of outlets in the room and they are evenly placed along walls. The layout of the home was fairly straightforward so Mark thought the installation would take about four days. Unfortunately, the work started after the massive flooding in June so one of his crew had to be out a couple of times during the first week of work. This along with unforeseen structural issues (our 1923 home had a remodel in family room which meant floor joints above ceiling didn't run same way throughout the room) made the work last longer than the four days we were initially expecting. This wouldn't have been much of an issue had there been better communication about the delay. This was the biggest issue we ran into because Mark was out-of-town while the delayed installation was in progress and we didn't feel the crew communicated enough to set proper expectations about the delay. A smaller complaint was the lack of daily clean-up during the installation. We didn't realize how much dust and wood chips would be created by drilling the holes for the vents. At times, we found pieces of debris just left on the floor so we would have liked daily clean-up to be better as well. After Mark returned to the office he was very understanding of our frustration and wanted to make sure that everything was finished to our liking. He came by to check the work and noticed two areas in the hallway upstairs that needed better paint touch-ups. Mark went himself to get the matching paint. It's really this personal touch that influenced us to choose Nimmer and if we had to do it all over, we would choose them again because the final product was great.

My experience with them was very good. The guys did good work. Everybody really work out well. I would recommend them and use them again in the future.

He was very prompt and gave me a complete and thorough analysis. He gave me a detailed proposal with options in it which is what I preferred. I had a good feel for price differences depending on the options available to me.

I was impressed and pleased with the level of professionalism and the knowledge of the service technician sent to my home. I will definitely use Nimmer in the future.

I called them and the woman answering the phone said she would try to get someone out to me the same day. She called back and gave me the time they would arrive. John called when he knew he would be delayed, but came shortly thereafter. I explained the problem to him. He immediately knew right where to go. He found the screw out that holds the fan shaft to the fan blade. He replaced the screw. Fan works fine! I no longer have a screw loose, and I'm ecstatic! By the way, the fan squeaked for years and other furnace people who serviced my furnace kept telling me it's a sealed unit and theres nothing they can do.

Great experience. They have units in their office so you can see the actual size. It's better than just knowing the measurements. They were very friendly. I made an appointment for someone to come to the house for an estimate while I was in the office. I made the appointment at my convenience. Mark Nimmer was right on time and knew exactly how to put AC in when you don't have a basement. He used to live in my area, where none of us have basements, plus his office is only blocks away and many of his customers have the same situation. I had total confidence he knew his stuff. He was very polite and respectful. He gives you your computer generated estimate right away! He got out his laptop and printed it in green because he said he was inspired by all my green plants. Ha! I called 2 other companies. One was totally confused about the no basement situation, the other was actually cheaper than Mark by a couple hundred dollars. I wasn't impressed with them, though, because the representative didn't measure my house and he wrote 2 amounts with pencil on a piece of paper and gave it to me. I mentioned their price to Mark and he came down 200.00, and marked it on the estimate immediately. The other company said I'd have a 3 week wait. Mark told me on a Friday, he could do it Monday. It was Memorial Day, though, so he did it Tuesday. I had a question beforehand and Mark came to the house to answer me and I then gave him a 600.00 deposit. They accept credit cards too. They got here around 8am and left around 1, and then the electricians came until about 3. They were quick, and quiet and neat. I wanted the unit way far from the furnace so there were long pipes involved and I heard nothing going on. I was confused about something a few days later, and an employee came right away to answer my question. While he was here, and it was over 70 degrees, he did a checkup. I love my new central air. One of my best purchases ever.
