Max Care Hardwood Flooring

They were good. We are very very happy with the outcome.

We were happy with MaxCare. Their price was substantially better than the incumbent who last refinished the floor. The quality of work was very good and the worker who stained the floor was very patient as we had to go through about 10 to 15 different attempts at getting the stain color to our liking. My only complaint was that for the follow up coats that were applied over 3 different dates, we were given a 1 hour window when they would arrive and 2 out of 3 times they missed the window, by about 30 or 40 minutes. However, they were kind enough to schedule us early in the morning so that we did not have to miss an entire day of work waiting for them to arrive.

They showed up on time and did a good job. The workers seemed really nice. Their price was reasonable, and the quality of work was good; it was totally dust free. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

The worker who did the repair, first sanding, staining and application of sealer worked about 6 hours. They came twice again to the home to sand and apply more finish. The stairs look really great.

Another company had refinished our floors and did such a horrible job that we would not allow them back into our house. We called Maxcare based on their Rating in Angie's list. They came out the next day, were able to rearrange their schedule to accommodate us the same week. In my daughter's words they took the floor from Oh my God what did they do to your floors? to Oh My God! look what they did with your floors it looks fantastic! Everyone says they did a great job and that includes us. Our contractor for the other work we were doing was so impressed that he asked for their information to pass on to 2 other customers he was working with. Then a few weeks later when we needed to match thee stain for a threshold we were putting in, they told me to stop in and they would give me enough stain to do the job. I would definitely recommend Maxcare to anyone who is going to refinish their wood floors.

Tony was prompt to come out and provide estimate. Pricing was competitive for the atomic dustless system. Crew was always on time and most helpful and courteous. The only area for improvement was with the scheduler who needed reminding to send color samples and who arranged an early start, but didn't adjust the completion date. So -- we had an extra day to live around a sanded, stained but unprotected floor. Nonetheless, they did high quality work.

I have used them multiple times. My handyman had removed the old flooring. Maxcare came and installed the flooring. He worked alone, due to my handyman having an emergency and had to leave. He was so precise, you could tell by his pounding and cutting. He put the whole floor in! He started at 9am and finished at 2pm. He said he put a coating on and would be back in a few hours for the final coat. He came back around 4p and put the final coat on. They had refinished all my other floors a few years before. It is just gorgeous but cleaning it is another story. They recommend vinegar and water. It works well for the refinished floors but does not for this new floor.

I called for an estimate on 3/21/11, left a message, but no one called me back. Called again on 3/22 and was told that estimates are done only between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Since I work FT, this wasn't convenient and I have called another provider.

Our kitchen floor (original pine flooring) was showing wear and needed to be refinished. MaxCare responded promptly to my initial calls and quickly came by for an estimate. It took about four weeks to get scheduled, but they arrived on time and did the work great - the floor looks great. There was absolutely no dust or mess left behind by the crew.

Overall it was good. The floors were good. The final product was good. They were good to work with. The end result looks really good. We are real happy with it. I would recommend to family members and friends that they do good work. We did have one issue, but they did resolve it satisfactorily. We didn't really shop around that much for the price.

Everything went very well. A little delay on the day they applied the finish between the first and second coats, but not a big issue as I was home. Overall they did a great job on install and finish.

They did the work well, but they went into our basement to use our phone. That was the only thing we didn't like. They were responsive and their price was basically in line with other companies we got estimates from. As far as I can tell, the quality is fine.

They were very good at re-finishing but we were less pleased with the new one that was installed. We got some split boards and some larger gaps in the boards that we did not like. We were more concerned with the boards that were split which should not have happened. Their responsiveness was neither good nor bad. We would use them in the future for re-finishing but not for the installation of a new floor. We called them back to re-do some things and they were agreeable on that.

Professional and responsive on the phone - great customer service, prompt estimate. We decided to wait to have floor done. I may do it myself, however if I have someone else do it. I will call back.

They did an excellent job overall! The dust-free aspect of the service really was dust free. The work area was kept neat and clean.

I had a house fire and needed my hardwood flooring repaired. Since I had the same type of work done in the past, I chose the products, but those products weren't right for this situation. Since they've been in business for 20 years, I think they knew the outcome of it, but I wish they would've shared their knowledge about this. They used water-based stain, which lifted the grain off of my floor. I ended up having to re-sand my floors. My appliances weren't moved out, either. I had to have them back to re-sand underneath. I wish they would've paid more attention to things. The original price was fine, but then I needed extra work done. There were too many steps involved; too many issues during this process. I probably won't use them again.

They did a good job. It turned out nice. I am going to use them again.

We only had 2 weeks to get our house ready to put on the market. We had put off doing any major renovation in the kitchen as a complete remodel was in the works. But I couldn't show the house with the 1990's floor. We called Max Care and they were able to do the job in our very tight time frame at a fair price. If the price listed seems high, it was due to extra repairs necessary due to a long time slow leak from the dishwasher. They patched the damaged area with reclaimed old maple floor. You can't tell where the repair starts and ends. The thing that really surprised us was how effective the dustless system worked. When they were all done, the kitchen only needed a light cleaning. It was as close to a dust free as could be realistically expected. I'd recommend Max Care and plan to use them in our new home.

Wonderful job! We had hired them in 2006 to refinish most our our house (about 1500 square feet) and did a great job. Price was great. Could have been a little more detailed on our stairs and corners by radiators but the price was very competitive and fit our budget. We have recommended to family and friends and hired them back again to do our back steps. I was most impressed at the areas they had to add in hardwood where we had taken out other flooring-matches great. Weren't able to get out all stains but house is almost 100 years old. Reliable, great price and dust free!

First of all I can say that they always showed up when they said they would. I was surprised how clean it was done. There wasn't any dust. The workers were friendly and professional. The end product is simply fabulous. I would highly recommend this company.

First meeting with Tony went very well & he gave me what I thought was a fair estimate. Scheduled work the following week. Work was completed & I was very happy with the results. Then, when I was given the bill, it was about $300 over what I was quoted. They told me they had not counted one of the rooms in orig. estimate. I said "WHAT??" Tony had walked through & measured all 4 empty rooms that were to be done, so I don't understand how this could have happened. We agreed to split the difference, which I wasn't too happy with. Next, I asked them to fix a broken floor board in another property. Someone came out to estimate right away, but it took them well over a month to complete the work after many follow-up phone calls which weren't always returned. Fix was completed, but not in a very timely or convenient matter.

Excellent job, I could not be happier. Extremely low dust level--barely noticeable. Maxcare did the job while I was out of town and it went smoothly and the floors are beautiful. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Estimate time was convenient. Price came in lower than the other two companies that bid, but I only used companies with A ratings.

From start to finish Maxcare was extremely professional, had great customer service and did an outstanding job on our floors. We were extremely happy with the finished product, the floors look great and we have had lots of compliments.
