Malkin's Carpets

They did an excellent job. They are very good. They did a beautiful job of putting it in my two rooms and coming up the basement stairs. I am very pleased. They were very professional and very nice. I definitely would go back to them. We got good quality carpeting.

They were not satisfied until I was completly satisfied. The process was the best. I have ever experienced working with such a company is much appreciated.

The installers did an excellent job. I am very plresed. The installers were very friendly and professional.

They responded quickly and did a pretty good job. There was a ding in the floor that I had to call them back for and they fixed that. They also used an adhesive on the vinyl that made it look too shiny. They also left a bit of a mess.

The installers were terrific, professional, and did a great job. The tile manufacturer included some bad tiles in one of the boxes of tiles for the bathroom, so the bathroom had to be put back together so that we could temporarily use it and Malkins will be returning tomorrow to reinstall the corrected tiles. Otherwise the quality and beauty of the tile was excellent overall. Malkins stood behind all their work and has been unbelievably helpful with the tile manufacturer snafu.

I used Angie's List when I chose them. I liked that they were having a sale that there was no charge for moving furniture, ripping up and hauling away old carpet and for installation. The service was excellent. They came when I wanted them to come, I delayed them 2 weeks because I was painting. There was no problem with that, you can schedule when you want. The guys were very professional, neat and clean. They even moved furniture that I moved, not just pieces that they had moved - they offered to put everything back. I had seen that as a criticism on an earlier Angie's List report so I was surprised they did it. I was really happy with the carpet and installation.

Great job! Good prices, helpful staff and wonderful installers. Carpet is beautiful, they moved the furniture out and back, took out the old carpet and were very efficient in putting in the new. Couldn't be more pleased.

They are a local company and we’ve known them for a while. The reason I chose them is because of their reputation, experience and I think they were the ones our builder originally chose.

I was very pleased with the service and quality of the product. My salesman was responsive and patient as it took me several months to decide on the exact product and colors I wanted. Price was consistant with other stores I had checked. Once I decided it was necessary to plan the installs on a tight schedule and Malkin's team both in the store and the installers delivered on all the promises they made! Several doors had to be trimmed and they sent out a carpenter same day! We have a busy household and needed to access rooms as they were installing, the workers were very accomodating and never made us feel we were in the way. The carpet is beautiful! The kitchen floor was installed and the workmanship is high quality.

The process went well from start to finish. The salespeople in the store were very helpful. The carpet was available and installed when promised. The installers were skilled, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. They held some carpet in their warehouse for me, because the carpeting of one room was delayed while other work was being done in the house. There were no complaints about the fact that the job was divided over a number of months.

We were pleased with the price and our interaction with them went really well. We wanted the carpet run a certain way to reduce seams and couple of the people we contacted did not want to run it that way, but they did. They really cleaned up well after themselves. They got the carpeting in really fast.

I have had good experience with them in the past, so I called them this time as well. They did a great job. They charged me the same price that I paid them 5 years ago and they also put padding for free. They were just awesome. They were here right away after I called them. They are like a next door company to me.

They delivered exactly what they said they were going to do in a timely fashion. They were excellent. We were rushed because we had to put our house up for sale. They did everything before our deadline at no extra cost. They helped us pick out the carpet. We told them what price range and color we wanted. The men we dealt with, Craig and Bobb, were very helpful in steering us in the right direction.

They responded very quickly. Everything was set up in 48 hours and they scheduled the installation of the carpets within 72 hours. My carpeting was back in a week’s time. They worked with my budget and provided us with quality product. They also provide financing if needed. I was in immediate need and they responded to it.

We did have to have them come back twice to fix the stairs because the pattern did not line up correctly, some seams in the carpet, and to fix some staples that weren't down tight. They had a nice selection at a nice price and the sales person was nice to work with.

They had a great selection and the prices were reasonable. There was absolutely no pressure and the service was very prompt. The installers were very good I would highly recommend them.

Salesperson was helpful and friendly, allowed us to take a number of samples home to try out. Transaction went smoothly including no interest financing. We wanted the carpet installed by a certain date and the salesperson did his best to make sure that happened, including tracking the carpet shipment and contacting us when there was a quality control issue. Malkin's does not have their own installers, they contract out. I would prefer if they had their own installers. The installers left some carpet fibers at the bottom of our stairs and never cleaned it up. Malkin's did call a couple weeks later to ask about the installation and indicated that they would pass the information along to the installers.

It went very well. Everyone was friendly and seemed to care about their work. They were very clean and quick. They finished the job ahead of schedule.

I worked with three different sales staff. The sales person credited with the order was very helpful and responsive. The one who did my estimate made several errors. The one who wrote up the order was not very customer friendly. The installer was very professional when introducing himself and made sure that I understood the installation process. However, when I asked him to keep the radio level down because of my nervous cat and my work at home later in the day, he stated that he had to have the radio going to be able to work. He also treated his assistant poorly and his communication towards him was disturbing to listen to. He seemed to be in a hurry at the end of the project and I had to ask to have the old nail holes in the shoe mold puttied. He was also reluctant to replace the metal trim at the sliding door because it meant a trip to the store. When completed, the installation did look very good.

Ordered 600 square feet of carpet on 6/21/07, they sent someone out to measure on 6/22/07. The salesman was supposed to call me with the measurements, but didn't! When they came to install carpet on 7/6/07, they brought 651 square feet of carpet. When I questioned the installer about it, he showed me the drawing. The carpet was to be laid the opposite way of which it had been installed the three previous times, that we had carpeting put in. The previous carpet installations had all been 603 square feet, in fact the second time we had carpet installed, it was installed by Malkin's and was 603 square feet. Because they installed the carpet in the opposite direction, I paid $233.00 more, for the carpeting. Called the salesman, he said he was sure he called me about the extra square footage (HE DID NOT CALL ME), said he would talk to the owner and get back to me in 48 hours, that was a week ago. He has not called back, nor do I expect that he will! I will not deal with them, again!

MALKIN'S WERE VERY THOROUGH HAS LOTS OF OPTIONS AND WERE VERY INFORMATIVE ABOUT THE PROCESS. THEY CAME 2 DIFFERENT TIMES TO COMPLETE THE JOB TO MAKE THINGS MORE BEARABLE FOR US & OUR HOUSEHOLD.

Easy to schedule. Installation was quick, done correctly, and clean. The installers offered advice on the best installation plan after surveying our floors. They do use sub-contractors.

PROMPT AND COURTEOUS. EXPLAINED REASONS WHY THEY COULDN'T LAY A NEW FLOOR OVER THE OLD ONE, OR REMOVE THE OLD FLOOR TO REPLACE. THE COMPANY WE CHOSE DID A GREAT JOB LAYING A NEW ARMSTRONG FLOOR AND BASE OVER THE EXISTING FLOOR.

ALTHOUGH MALKINS WAS VERY COURTEOUS OVER THE PHONE. THE INSTALLERS OF THEIR MATERIALS AND SUPERVISION OVER THEIR INSTALLATION WAS NOT PROFESSIONAL.
