European Hardwood Flooring

I don't usually write reviews, but the service and repair by European Hardwood Flooring is simply top-notch. Daniel, the primary contact, is amazing to work with. He was extremely responsive via text, email, or phone. He came out the same day that I called to give me an estimate. I live in Seattle and the company is in Issaquah, but that didn't stop Daniel from being prompt and driving in traffic. Another company I called is only 10 mins away from me, and refused to come out because my repairs were going to be paid by an insurance company. I called dozens of places trying to get someone out to do an estimate, and surprisingly not a lot of hardwood flooring companies do repairs and/or care that much for my business to come do a timely estimate. Daniel was professional, knowledgable, courteous, and everything you'd expect and want from someone you're doing business with. It wasn't just Daniel, the two guys who spent a week fixing my floors were great too, very courteous. My floors look amazing! My place looks amazing! They did such a great job cleaning up after themselves. I highly recommend Daniel and European Hardwood Flooring for any flooring needs. Oh, I almost forgot to mention. European Hardwood Flooring was probably the only company that would fix my stone tiles by my entry as well. Other companies that came told me to call someone else for the tiles. It's so much more convenient to work with one company than multiple. The best part, the stone tiles by the entry look like nothing ever happened! I was expecting to see some evidence of the gouge after the fix, but it looks like new.

They were GREAT. Top-notch customer service. Daniel was informative but not pushy at all, and his team was hard-working and nice. We asked tons of questions and Daniel was incredibly patient with us, answering every one of them. He was very responsive and there were no surprises.

WOW! My 90 year old floor looks brand new! Great job!!!

European Hardwood came recommended by the general contractor I was working with on a kitchen remodel. Daniel provided a bid comparable to another highly rated flooring company, but I went with EH based on my contractor's experience. EH delivered exactly what I wanted with high quality. They were very flexible in accommodating delays in the project schedule, and put down an unplanned 4th finish coat to resolve issues which were not their fault. I'm very happy with the work EU did and would not hesitate to use them again.

Exquisite work! Daniel was very punctual, came right away to measure the surface and gave us an estimate. He supervised his team several times during the process and came at the end to make sure everything was ok. It was very easy to work with both Daniel and his team, and they were able to easily accommodate all our requests. Job was completed in time and on budget. Thanks to them we now have a great looking floor downstairs !

I had very good experience with Daniel and his crew. He came up with a very acceptable offer. He was also able to accommodate my schedule perfectly. When his very youthful looking crew arrived, I was bit concerned. But I quickly realized that one always needs to judge by seeing people at work and observe the results. Andrey, their foreman, was very detail oriented. Andrey, Dima, and Tima worked hard, they didn't cut corners, and they produced quality results. I really enjoyed to see how nicely they stored their tools at the end of each day. That was surely a sign of perfectionist crew. They also helped moving furniture out of the way which I really appreciated. Daniel came for inspection before the coat was to be applied. I initially wanted to use water based finish to minimize odor in the house but remembering beautiful looking Swedish finish in my friend's house and discussing last minute with Daniel I changed my mind. Andrey already had the water based finish purchased but without problems he got the Swedish instead. I really appreciated discussion with Daniel. He made sure he didn't push me, but his words and body language clearly suggested that Swedish finish just looked much nicer (which I knew already, I was just afraid of odor). We vacated house for 5 days. We started running fans 24 hours after final coat was applied (as Andrey suggested). The odor was minimal after those 5 days, as we continued running fans for couple of more days (we took advantage of those warm summer days). The result is beautiful. The boring beige carpet was replaced by floor of beautiful color (thanks to Swedish) that we will never get tired looking at.

They did a great job. Floors look better than they did when we build the house 25 years ago.

What the other reviewers said about Daniel is true. We called Daniel on July 1st, and he came the next day on time to do an estimate. He was very patient, answering all my questions, and also taught me a lot (such as what is white line syndrome). The next day I have more questions, and he could answer all of them patiently through the phone. I also did some other quotes. Comparing to them, Daniel's price is very competitive (thought not the cheapest). I used his service partially because the good review here, and also he could start the work very soon (They start it on July 4th. Yes, it is the holiday). I realized different contractors may have different measure of the floor size, and the difference could be up to 100 sq ft (notice that our floor only has near 800 sq ft). Daniel's measure is accurate, I believe (at least the measured floor size is smaller). Daniel is able to immediately answer my phone calls almost all the time I called him, and I really appreciate this. The whole project was very well done. I can see the floor is flat, smooth, beautiful, and of high quality. My wife liked it a lot (Yes, that's the most important thing). I will use his service again in the future.

From start to finish the whole project went very well. I contacted European Hardwood to schedule an appointment for an estimate to do the repairs and refinishing. I talked with Daniel (the owner) and scheduled a date. He was prompt, courteous, professional and spent the time to answer all my questions. I received the estimate when he said I would and it was very competitive with other floor companies. I ended up having to delay the work for several months (remodeled kitchen at the same time) and Daniel was very accommodating and understanding. When the work started there was no change in price even though it was delayed for 6 months. During the kitchen remodel a small area needed new boards (cabinet moved) and Daniel sent a person the next morning so that the kitchen work wouldn't be delayed. When the floor work started his crew was also very courteous, efficient and hard working. The floors came out better than expected. They were smooth and looked and felt better than new. Daniel made sure that I was satisfied with the work and again answered all of my questions. I would definitely use European Hardwood Flooring again.

The estimator showed up a little late. He was there for a grand total of 6 minutes to take measurements of the rooms. He didn't provide any detail as to what the job entailed. I never received an estimate.

Daniel came out and gave an estimate for about $4200, he was punctual professional and responsive. We had a tight time window for when the previous owners moved out and when we were moving in. Daniel's crew did an amazing job, the floors look amazing, all the work he said he would do he did. We couldn't be happier.

Having floors stained from the typical maple color to a nice rich spice brown color was part of a bigger kitchen remodel. This was by far my favorite transformation from the project. I've read how many people have attempted to stain maple floors to only have them turn orange. European Hardwood Flooring crew came in and stained 6 popular colors they knew to be successful in a grid so we could see it in different lights of day. I'm really glad of this practice because what we picked out would not have been the one we would have picked if looking at a can. They stained the floors, put 3 coats of Swedish finish on it with the last coat being a matte finish. It looks sharp. All the baseboards were removed during the process and reinstalled. It will require having the baseboards painted, but well worth it to have it done correctly. The cost for completing the job was much lower than I expected. The crew was courteous and Daniel was very nice and accommodating to work with. I highly recommend having Daniel's crew do any wood flooring.

We used European Hardwood Flooring for refinishing existing oak floors and for installing new oak floors. As new house owners we kept finding new rooms to install floors in, and they were great at dealing with the ever changing requirements. They communicated what they were doing very well and they were sure to contact us whenever there were a decision to be made. They worked very cleanly and were done by the date they promised us. We are very happy with the result of their job and would warmly recommend them to anyone.

This is a late review of my experience with Daniel installing hardwood floor which was done in 2014, because I was new to hiring people to do work on my house, and I wanted to be sure that I can truly recommend Daniel and his group after I had more experience with other services. After having plumbers, landscapers, painters, siding, ... etc., I would have to say that I would recommend Daniel and his crew since I could remember with fondness how smoothly things went with his crew and pleasant it was to deal with him. I believe his price was reasonable, better than other quotes that I got for the work at that time. I believe he has many crews who work in different jobs at the same time. Other than interaction with estimate and hiring, he did not come personally to do the job. However, people that came were professional, pleasant, and competent based on how good my floor looks year and a half after the work. They were very accommodating with my requests. It was done in time that they quoted and looked very good after the work. One week after new hardwood floor was installed, my son dropped heavy music stand, and sharp edge chipped off part of the floor. I called Daniel, and he sent one of his man over after the job to fix it which they did right away. I believe I gave some cash as tip for the work, but I don't think they really charged for the repair. One of the funny thing that happened was that Daniel forgot to get paid for the job (or was polite and waiting for me to pay him). Days after the job was finished, I didn't get call from Daniel to come in to pick up the check, and I had to call Daniel to ask him to see if he forgot to come in get the last check for the work. Overall, I would recommend him and his crew wholeheartedly. I still glow with pleasure at looking at my new hard floor.

I can not praise Daniel and his team enough for the work performed in our house. Very punctual, very hardworking, very tactical and detail-oriented. The changes I asked for were done right away without hesitation nor giving us a hard time about the change. Thank you Daniel very very much!

Working with Daniel was a pleasure. We asked the work be completed while we were out-of-town. In meeting Daniel we developed and immediate trust to allow him to enter our home while we were away. Some our neighbors peeked in during the work and they immediately reported that the floors looked amazing. When we returned home, we agreed! The crew also cleaned up any dust that was caused by the work so that was an pleasant addition. Daniel was always very prompt for appointments and very easy to work with. It was evident why European Hardwood Flooring has received so many A grades!

All work was done as we discussed and with the highest professionalism. Daniel and his crew accommodated all of our requests and special needs with regards to our 3 children, dog and coordination with our other projects including kitchen, other painting etc. Daniel's sanding crew helped us with moving a couple large pieces of furniture and with detail work with molding in kitchen and other base-boards. Daniel has a great attention to detail, is easy to communicate with, and is trustworthy. This is our second time using his company and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone and will use him again in the future.

Daniel and his crew were excellent! I was in a bit of a rush and Daniel was able to start the work within 18 hours of my making the request. Once here, they were able to move all my furniture and things out of the way and get started right away! These guys are fast, efficient, on-time and very reliable! I looked at several other providers but what I really liked about Daniel was his promptness. I was able to text/call him at any hour of day (early mornings, late evenings, weekends) and he was incredibly responsive in accommodating my requests. He had his crew work all weekend long and got my place ready just in time for my parents to visit me! The place looks fab! If you haven't refinished your floors before, please be aware that the stain and finish materials have a very strong odor, but it goes away after a few days. Please make arrangements to stay away from the home for the entire week. What I found to be very effective in dissipating the odor is to turn off your HVAC, open all the windows and within a few hours the air will clear.

Daniel and his team were fantastic to work with. We had some issues with the wood floors but Daniel came out multiple times to provide his opinion and address the issue. One of the workers was sick and they were running a bit behind so one of the employees worked an entire day on Saturday to finish up the job. Highly recommend this company for hardwood installation.

Very professional and punctual, met all commitments in the time frame promised and did a fantastic job. Would use them again for any flooring and would recommend them with confidence.

I was striking out right and left trying to find someone to refinish my floors before Christmas. Fortunately, I stumbled across European Hardwood and I am so thankful that I did! David was able to squeeze me in just a couple days after I called, due to a customer cancellation. The workers were nice and polite and man did they ever do a quality job! Having grown up with a dad who is a general contractor, I am somewhat picky when it comes to home improvement projects. I have nothing but the highest praise for this company! My nasty 1980s-style oak floors look modern and sleek now. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
