European Hardwood Flooring

Outstanding. We used them in our old house as well to sand, stain and finish some white oak floors.

The team did a great job! The main level already had an area with maple hardwood and they matched that perfectly! I was interested to have a multi-tone maple color so they've figured how to replace pieces from the old hardwood and continue to match that seamlessly throughout the main level. We also had our air heating vents made of hardwood at no extra cost. I heard they are usually hard to take out as they don't fit well as with anything that's custom made, but this was not our case, they properly fit in and they look so nice. The price was very competitive and the team was right on schedule even if we had other contractors (like painters) that they had to work with and sometimes be flexible on the schedule. I'd definitively use this company again for my next project!

Daniel came out personally the day after I called requesting a quote. I contacted him based on the excellent reviews on Angie's List. Daniel's quote wasn't the lowest, but he wasn't the most expensive either. He was able to start the job right away and was willing to have his team work longer days in order to finish up quickly (we had houeguests coming and needed to move back in as soon as possible). Daniel was very accomodating and professional. The work exceeded my expectations and his team did a terffic job of cleaning up. I've recommended him to friends and would definitely use him again.

I contacted European Hardwood to bid on our floor refinishing job based on their excellent reviews on Angie's List. I was not disappointed. We obtained several bids but Daniel's was the most competitive. One firm submitted a bid without even looking at the floor. Daniel Shalgau, the owner, came out personally within 24 hours of my call. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained the different finish types available and the pros and cons of each then made recommendations based on our particular floor and cabinets. We were planning to be out of town and were hoping to have the work done while we were gone. He worked to make sure he could schedule us during that window of time. His crew arrived the morning we were leaving. They were professional, personable and obviously knew what they were doing. Unlike other firms we had contacted about bids who required all furniture and appliances to be moved by the owner , the European Hardware crew took responsibility for moving several heavy pieces of furniture for us. Friends had warned me that despite what any firm said about protecting walls, cabinets and surfaces, there would be dust and I just had to be prepared to wipe it all down when they were done. There was not a speck of dust anywhere--the place was immaculate when they were done. Mr. Shalgau personally followed up when we returned and personally came out to inspect the work. My floors are GORGEOUS, I am thrilled with the way they look and I would enthusiastically recommend European Hardwood to any of my friends. These guys know their stuff and do it right!

I found Daniel through Angie's List and the reports were spot on. He was extremely professional, prompt with all of his communication and his estimate was very fair. He worked around my schedule and the outcome was better than I could have expected. He finished all the hardwood in my house, all of which was in very poor condition. The floors have never looked better. He taped up everything while sanding so there was no dust over residue. The house looked great. He came by in person to dropped off the key to ensure I was happy with the result. It is obvious he takes a lot of pride in his work. I would recommend him highly.

It went great. They arrived on time, it took the 3 days they said it would. The repairs are seamless and cannot be picked out from the original floor. The finish looks great and the price was about 70% of 2 other quotes I had.

Daniel was responsive to my original request for an estimate on the work and arrived on time and was courteous and helpful in our discussion. We had some delay in getting the estimate but that was due to a misunderstanding about my e-mail address as my letter 'q' in the address looked like a 'g'. I accepted their estimate without getting comparisons because of the excellent reviews on this site and the fact that the price seemed reasonable to me. The appointment to do the work was set a month out because they are very busy. This was acceptable to me. Daniel called me the week before the work was to begin to set up a time to deliver the materials. The wood apparently needs a few days in the environment in which it is to be installed. Daniel and his crew of two arrived on time on Monday and began work. They sealed off the room in which the work was to be done and covered my wall decor to protect it from the dust created by the work. I had not thought to remove the things on the wall and they covered them rather than ask me to take them down which was nice. They had advised that the fumes from the finish would be very strong so I opted to leave the house for a few days. When I returned, the job was complete, the premise was tidy and results were beautiful. Daniel was very nice to work with and consulted me when there was a issue with the sub-flooring. Very polite and professional.

Though we decided not to proceed with the job until a later date, the preliminary service that we received from Daniel was excellent. He was always available via phone to answer questions about what started off as a refinishing job and then turned into a potential new flooring installation (due to the discovery of poor quality fir flooring). His prices were very competitive and when speaking with local flooring wholesalers, we repeatedly heard good things about him.

Daniel and his crew did an amazing job restoring our white oak hardwood floors(from 1920's) and making them look brand new! They patched a couple places that had been damaged and also installed new floors in the kitchen. We felt that they were reasonably priced and would highly recommend European Harwood floors to anyone who want their floors to gleam! I was also very impressed as to how professional and punctual they were.

Very professional. He arrived on time and submitted his quote exactly as we discussed. I had others quote and he was several hundred dollars under theirs.When the work was to be done he arrived with his crew and over the next 3 days removed and disposed of the old carpet, sanded and replace damaged top nailed oak flooring, required in two small areas, then applied 3 quotes of swedish finish.Each day he would come by and go over with me any areas of concern I had and they would promptly be addressed.The floors look terrific and I would definately use their services again.

We chose this company based on the steller reviews we had found on Angie's List. We were not disappointed. The owner Daniel and his crew did an excellent job from the beginning to the end. Their price was very competitive. And the quality and craftsmanship of their work was top notch. The new floor area was seamlessly blended into the existing one, making the main floor appear larger. The crew was so careful in wrapping up everything beforehand and cleaning up afterwards that we did not have to do any extra cleaning ourselves. All in all we are very happy that we used this company and wouldn't hesitate to go back to them again or recommend them to our friends.

The floors are absolutely gorgeous, like a work of art. I did not expect such a transformation. Daniel and his team did wonders with our floors and we actually thought they were in pretty good shape and weren't sure they really needed the work (but it had been 13 years since they were refinished and it was a good opportunity since we hadn't yet moved in). We decided against a stain and went with the natural wood color, which is just beautiful. We could not be happier with the floors. Daniel also totally worked around our schedule which was fairly tight between closing and move-in. I would highly recommend him to my friends and colleagues.

Very well. The workers did a great job, accomodated my requests, and in order to do a better job, even did more work than I originally contracted for, no extra charge. They even came out and repaired a scratch that I made moving furniture for no extra charge.

Everything went great. It was a pretty good experience.

The floors turned out beautiful! Daniel was the only bid that took into account our budget. He finished the project in the time he said he would. He was very nice and a pleasure to work with. Would recommend him to anyone.

Daniel came out and he was prompt, kind, professional, and honest. He gave us various ways to handle an issue that we were having with our hardwood floors starting with the most conservative approach, which I appreciated. He was very honest. I'd highly recommend them. He was also very agreeable to write up a report for my insurance company.

The visit was very brief, though he was here on time and as noted above, did send a quote in a timely manner.

Amazing! First off, excellent communication. On time for original appointment, delivery of bid, and for total project (did on exact days that I requested, as we had many contractors to coordinate for various projects). Absolutely beautiful finished product!

We bought an house and at the last minute decided to have the floors refinished before we moved in. I contacted Daniel and he said he could do it in my tight timeframe ( a week out and only 4 days to finish). Not only did he get it done, the floors look GREAT! And he was the least expensive quote. Daniel and his team were amazing! We were out of town when he refinished our floors and the project was seamless. The floors were more amazing then when we first purchased the house ( which was a new construction when we bought it). He also was able to work around my schedule and fit me in without any loss in quality. I get compliments on the floors all the time and they really make the home stand out. I give this company my highest recommendation. You can not go wrong with Daniel and his team. They are professional, knowledgeable, and most important... do incredible work.

This is the 2nd hardwood flooring installation service we have hired European Hardwoods to perform. Install, sand, finish 190 square feet of maple hardwood flooring. Lace-in, sand, finish 360 sq. feet of existing maple hardwood. Apply 3 coats of swedish finish. The work was completed on time to our satisfaction. Since this is the 2nd project we hired them to do, we already knew we would get a top quality finish and the work would be completed on time. Daniel has excellent communication and follow through during the project. Highly recommend this for installation and refinishing hardwood flooring.

We were very satisfied with both the price and the quality of the work. Daniel (the owner) came out the same day that I called to meet with me, inspect the flooring and take measurements, and he provided me a bid later that night. We got a bid from one other contractor, and Daniel's bid was lower, and we were also very impressed by his knowledge and enthusiasm for hardwood flooring. Before the work started, we decided to add to the project (replacing parque flooring in the hallway with oak flooring to match the rest of the main floor), and he came out the next day to take measurements and provided an updated bid. They were able to start the project within a week and a half from when we decided to hire them. His crew worked very hard and they were very friendly when we came by from time to time to see how everything was progressing. We had a difficult time choosing a stain, and Daniel went out of his way to stain several samples so we could see how each stain looked both upstairs and down. He was very knowledgeable about our flooring (original flooring from 1913 - white oak downstairs and red oak upstairs). They had to work around radiator heaters in each room, as well as some original custom cabinetry and mahogany mouldings, and they did an excellent job on that without making any nicks or scrapes. After the tilework in our kitchen was finished, they came back and spent several hours putting in transitions and doing other touch-up work, all complimentary. Overall, we were very happy with their work and felt like we got great value. I would highly recommend them.

We were able to schedule the work within 1 week of getting a quote. The guys did a terrific job and the floors are beautiful. Daniel came to inspect the work in person with us. All around great experience and would definitely use them again.
