GREAT and smooth and it was ready on time for my sons wedding at my home.

after reading reviews I called Ben from Minuteman Construction. He wanted to come over and assess the situation even before the mitigation company was even done, giving me advice and answering my questions while he was there. We met at the house again after the mitigation company had pulled out, and Ben again went over room by room what the game plan would be to restore the house to pre loss condition and also answered honestly all the questions I had about paying for upgraded materials. Sounds good to me..we hired him to be our GC. The biggest stumbling block in this project is that my insurance company wanted to send a third party independent adjuster to assess damage and work up an estimate on what would the restoration cost would be. Even my wife and I who aren't qualified to assess this kind of loss were amazed at the low ball number this adjuster came up with, so I called Ben again and he wanted me to send him a copy of the estimate, but he was quite reassuring telling us that this is usually the norm, and that he would work up a realistic cost to restore the house which he did, letting us know each step what the probable result was going to be. He is extremely knowledgable working this kind of loss, and will give honest and professional advice and answers. Bottom line, Ben worked both the insurance and third party adjusters, pointing out why certain things needed this work, and damages that needed addressed that weren't initially included.. Ben's estimate came in at 3 times the initial estimate. which my insurance company eventually approved It's been a long summer without a house, and we've just started the repairs, but Ben has fought long and hard to get this thing rolling the way it should be, and I have no doubts that the rest of the project will go smoothly and quickly, and if not, I'll update my review.and if you're looking for a GC that goes to bat for you with your insurance company, I don't think you'll find anyone that will work for you like Ben Culley from Minuteman Construction.

I was in a panic when I met with Ben from Minuteman Construction. I had no idea where to start when I discovered a huge water leak in my home. Ben was extremely professonal and knowledgeable about the insurance claim process and proceedures to get my home fixed. Ben handled all communication with my insurance company and got everything that I needed approved. From the beginning of this long journey ( more on that later) , communication was excellent. I'm a very hands on kind of person and Ben and my construction manager Danny could not have been more responsive to my questions, emails, phone calls and texts, including after hours. I'm a single mom on a very limited budget. These guys really respected that, Not all things in an insurance claim remodel are included in the claim. I was responsible to purchase some of the "extra" items. I needed new shower fixtures in the new shower and Danny was able to procure these for me with leftovers from a past job at no cost to me. This crew also went the extra mile to do the labor on some unexpected problems at little to no extra cost. With budget in mind, I shopped for several items myself. When the shower door that I selected was not available locally, Danny drove to Gresham to find and purchase the exact door that I wanted. A secondary issue was discovered during my remodel that required a pretty major amount of dry rot repair. Danny addressed this issue. A lesser company could have just closed up the wall and moved on, but I was called right away about the problem. Danny worked with me to explain what was needed and they he did the work for me. which was not part of the initial project. The entire minuteman crew is ABOVE AMAZING ! I had the opportunity to meet several of the guys working on my project. They were all very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Thank you to John, Blaine, Nate and sweetheart! "Going the extra mile" with these guys is not just a saying. Each day I would come home from work to find something "extra" that was done for me that was just plain good customer service. They installed temporary counter tops for me, knowing that I would be waiting 3 plus weeks between cabinet and counter top install. They hung my old cabinet in my laundry room for me. They treated my home as their own and each day they cleaned up any mess, and made sure that I had as much functional space as possible. Back to the long journey. Remodel takes FOREVER. well, at least for my expectations. Contractors, including Minuteman are very busy in this area and getting "worked in" to their schedules is difficult. Both Danny and Ben worked tirelessly to communicate with me and let me know exactly when each step of the project could be completed. That being said, its a lot of waiting. My project took about 10 weeks. So prepare for that and the wait may be a little easier. The best part of that is that the final project is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, well constructed and exactly as I wanted it. I have already referred this company to many of my friends, and I highly encourage you to contact them if you want a company that truly cares about their customers and the work that they put out.

They came in and put things back together. Some of the insulation in the crawl space had to be taken out because it was wet and they replaced it. It was expensive, but they did a good job. I didn't do any comparisons. The quality of work was very good. They tend to put me off to do other emergency work. We were available and they weren't. That is the only complaint that I had. It was easy to put me off because they had to do another job. So, it took longer than it should've. They had an emergency elsewhere. I sort of understood that, but still. They always called ahead to say they would be there in 15 minutes or whatever. They were professional. They do very good work even though it's expensive. The workers were great. The professionalism, expert work, and the knowledge is why I gave them an A overall. They have a lot of experienced workers to take care of carpentry or whatever.

If you do not want to be disturbed by a lot of calls from your contractor, Ben is your guy. If you like your contractor to approve design details with troubling you for comment, Ben is the one you want. If you want a contractor who is extremely confident in the quality of his work and who will let you know he is willing to walk away from jobs and customers that don't meet his standards, you will love Ben's style. If you want a contractor who has an explanation for everything, Ben will do that, too. Ben's employees are skilled and take pride in their work. It was a pleasure to have them in my home. The end result looks very nice.

Within minutes of arriving Ben surmised that our problem was indeed water damage. Very extensive water damage. As he started to point out how the bamboo floor in my hallway and bedrooms was all starting to bunch up in a slight mound, our kitchen cabinets were wicking up moisture about 5 inches up from the floor, and the drywall near the floor in the bathroom was now saturated with water, I'm sure the color was drained from my face, because he quickly said "You do realize this is an insurance claim, right?" This review is really just about that portion of what Ben does. Insurance companies do not care about you. Billions of dollars in annual advertising will never convince me otherwise. Ben has been there the whole way, helping navigate a system that counts on our ignorance in order to maintain a fat profit margin. The funds assured in your policy meant to be allocated to such a disaster in your home are absolutely NOT easily handed over. Ben understands exactly what the legal responsibility of the insurance company to the insured is, as mandated by the state. When they try and weasel out of paying he puts on his game face and starts fighting. He was very clear every step of the way about what I deserved and made sure that every penny it would take to get my house as good or better ended up being authorized. I am happy to say that the tiny check I received from the company initially is being followed up by another one that is NINE times larger. This dude is seriously a hero.

Ben with Minuteman made a lot of promises when first arriving. I was pleased when he delivered on all of them. The quality of the work from his crew was amazing and he also delt directly with the insurance company on any unforeseeable items so I didn't have to.

The first leak was fairly obvious and found immediately. I contacted a plumber, a remediation service and Minuteman. The plumber repaired the leak and the area damaged was cleared and blowers set up. After reviewing the damage, Ben from Minuteman collected information to give me an estimate. I contacted my insurance company. Up to this point everything went well. Unfortunately, the adjuster the insurance company sent was not the best - to say the least. The major problem was that I have hardwood floors throughout my house - all installed at the same time and in one piece. The initial leak was in a wall between two bedrooms, causing damage to the floor in both rooms. My insurance adjuster feel it was sufficient to fix the flooring in just those rooms which would mean installing transition strips at the doorways to both rooms. The flooring in the two bedrooms would not match the flooring in the rest of the house. I wanted to keep my original design with the same flooring throughout the house. Minuteman agreed with what I wanted as replacing all the flooring would replace what I lost - replacing just the two bedrooms would in my opinion be just a patch job. As luck would have it, I was unable to fight with the insurance adjuster as I was undergoing chemotherapy at the time. Ben from Minuteman agreed to work directly with the insurance company in my stead. I can't tell you how grateful I am for his help with that! The adjuster was difficult to get hold of and did delay the work, but Ben got the work covered. Once the work was started, a second silent leak was found under my kitchen at the far side of the house. If Ben had not been able to fight for me and I had given in to the adjuster, the second leak would not have been found. In the end, Minuteman replaced all the floors in my house and got all the leaks repaired. My insurance covered this. I asked Minuteman to do a remodel of my kitchen and two bathrooms. I paid for this. It cost less to replace cabinets and appliances while it was all torn up anyway than it would have at another time. Since I had such problems with the plumbing, Ben suggested that I have all the plumbing inspected and replaced where necessary. This was also on my dime, but I'm glad I did it - they did find some issues that needed to be fixed. I'm so glad I chose Minuteman to take care of my home. It looks wonderful now, cozy and comfortable. I will ALWAYS call Minuteman first if I need more work done in the future. EVERYONE I contacted with Minuteman was friendly and professional. They kept me informed as to how the project was going. They brought unexpected problems (such as the second leak) to me right away with options as to how to proceed. This was a nasty issue at a very bad time in my life. Having Ben, Dan and the other great guys at Minuteman made it so very much easier. THANK YOU!

The end result is beautiful. The team did a great job in challenging circumstances and overcame a number of hurdles along the way. They also went above and beyond to help me on a few extra things. The reason I gave a B on responsiveness is because they are a very sought-after resource, so it may take a little time to get on their schedule and complete the job. It is well worth the wait, though. They do excellent work.

Ben was amazing! The work was second to none - what other people call perfectionism Ben calls business as usual. Plus, we went through our homeowners insurance, and Ben took care of the whole process for us: he put together his estimate, was here for the insurance adjuster's estimate, and dealt with our insurance company every step of the way to make sure that we got every penny to cover his estimate (and not the adjuster's lowball estimate) to make sure the work got done right. If we ever need any contracting work done in the future, Ben will be our first and only call. Can't say enough good things about him, his work, and his crew. Thank you Ben!

I could not have asked for a better crew to work in my home. Starting with Ben who handled the estimate and dealt with my insurance company exclusively,. My husband just had stoke and Ben took over for me, making sure everything when smoothly with my insurance company. Danny, Nate and crew were so easily to work with. Polite, quite, very responsive to all my questions. Danny and his crew go the extra mile to make sure every detail is done right. They are very clean and neat at the end of each work day, making sure the work area is free of clutter and tools. At the end of the entire project they even mopped the floor! I would definitely would recommend Minute Man Construction to any one needing work done on the interior of their home

If you need help navigating an insurance claim Ben's your man. He worked directly with our insurance company to help us negotiate everything we needed to get our kitchen rebuilt better then it was before the flooding. Ben's contractor's were professional and caring. Danny and the rest of his team did an amazing job!! We love our new kitchen!

Ben, at Minuteman Construction, and his team, did exceptional work. Ben was very experienced in the world of insurance claims and helped me the whole way through my insurance requirements. Also, their work was of a very high quality. My kitchen is beautiful and I would and will use these guys again, in a heartbeat.

I can’t say enough how much I appreciate MinuteMan Construction LLC. I used them this past year for the reconstruction of my basement due to water damage. They did a great job on the repairs. They made sure it was done accurate and to my satisfaction. They did the outmost work and communicated well with me. They are professional and go above and beyond the scope of work. The crew was polite, courteous, and was always on time. There was an issue with my insurance company and they worked closely with me to help resolve it. I will definitely use Minute Man Construction in the future. I highly recommend. They get the job done and to your expectations!

Ben and his team did an update of the living room, dining room, bath and kitchen to one of my rental properties. The cost was right on the number quoted. Add on's requested were very quickley scheduled in and priced very fairly. A couple were done at cost. Ben and I discussed the project many times before he started and his awareness to my budget concerns/constraints and the impact on my renters schedule were always considered. Quality of work was topnotch. Communication was great. Ben and Danny worked on scheduling directly with my tenant making it more streamlined and manageable for me. Tenant was extremely pleased with how accommodating to his unusual scheduled Ben was. When a problem or challenge presented itself, Ben and Danny were all over it. I called them back out to the property to look at a concern I had and even though it turned out not to have any tie into the project they did, they made the repairs right away and didn't charge me. I am currently working with Ben to schedule some work at another property I own. These guys are great, professional, fair and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We own several properties and have lived through multiple remodels, repair work, ground up construction projects and this is hands down the BEST experience we have ever had in working with a construction team. MinuteMan is A++++ and I will proudly and without hesitation refer them to anyone in the community. While remodel and water remediation projects are never easy to live through (especially when you are actually living in the home for alot of the work or waiting for the work to be done) the MinuteMan team made this process alot less painful and returned to us a home with results better than we could have hoped for. Here are some things that set them apart. The company is competitive with multiple other contractors I interviewed, so they don't compete per say on price- they are in the right range for sure. But where they blow the competition away: Quality- the level of craftsmanship and care they take in the work is top notch. They don't cut corners and the finished product is stellar. Everything from the gorgeous hardwoods they installed to the superior job they did on our tile and grout- WOW it just looks amazing. They have an eye for details and finishes that we haven't seen in the past. Professional & Responsive Communication to Clients - prompt return of phone calls and texts. Made us always feel important and priority and this was a 3 months process from the time we signed the scope of work to when we could actually have them in to get the work done (based on our schedule NOT Minute Man's). That's along time to manage an intensive relationship with a client and they did it with ease! Ben is the main client contact and is extremely smart, knows his field, understands how to work with insurance companies, and will set you at ease about your project. He was patient always with us when we asked multiple questions about the various aspects of our projects, if we changed our mind about selections, etc. It was a big job and alot of moving parts but I never felt in the dark. Timelines and process where made clear and well communicated. Ben and his team had to write, and re-write our bid and cost estimates MULTIPLE times due to changes in plans or because of the insurance requirements. They stayed on top of the paperwork and our SLOW insurance adjusters and kept things moving along for us. Experts in Insurance Claims- I can't say enough here. We buckled in for a very bumpy ride with our insurance company who we knew would fight us on the claim details and really helping us get our home back to it's original conditions. Ben was a blessing beyond words on this front. He didn't let the insurance company bully us around and fought hard and spent many hours negotiating on our behalf about the quality of the repairs we were owed on this home (it was new construction and lived in for less than 30 days when we had our flood). Ben worked patiently with the insurance company and had to deal with 2 different adjusters and a field inspector that was very "green". It added alot of extra work to his plate. We rarely had to get involved and they made it a stress free process for us, as much as they could. He understands how to make it all work and trust me folks this is a HUGE asset. He was like our hired attorney/advocate with the insurance and also our general fixing our home. Great Crew/Team- respectful, clean, professional, get it done guys. That is what Minute Man is all about. Through this process we'd consider Ben a friend of ours, because he's just been so good to us. His guys are all top notch. They left the job site clean. When we were here while they worked they tried to minimize noise, distraction, etc. Even on the very last night of the job they were working really late and Ben ordered the team pizza. Ben called to ask my permission to use a few water glasses!! That is how respectful they are. We'd been out of the home on vacation for 10 days...he had full access to everything in our home but still was so considerate about professional boundaries that he called to ask permission for a drinking glass. Again just top notch professionals. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CALL THESE GUYS. They are really fantastic. I enjoyed writing this review- typically at the end of a construction project my husband and I say "thank god that is over- what a drag that was" EXCEPT this time we had a completely different scenario and MinuteMan made it almost a fun process if water damage to your home can ever be fun. And our home looks incredible. Much better than before the flood actually!

They even moved the furniture back where it belonged after the job was complete. Ben Culley, the owner of Minuteman Construction, is a professional who really cares about his customers and knows his stuff! Little background; anytime there is a homeowner's claim, the adjuster comes out, determines the scope of work, and then puts a number to that which is the value of your claim. (At least that's how mine works and I have insurance with one of the largest carriers.) One of the responsibilities of the contractor is to make sure the adjuster's estimate truly covers the scope of required work and all the fine details. This is where Ben was invaluable. Ben started by coming out to my house, talking about what needed to be done, and measuring, but it didn't stop there. He took the time to get on a conference call with my son and patiently answered all his questions making sure that we had a good understanding of the process as neither of us had ever dealt with a homeowner's claim before. Ben was punctual, respectful, great at setting expectations, and dedicated to making sure the outcome of my claim was fair. Once Ben was done with his estimate he forwarded it to my adjuster and then began the part of the process that makes or breaks your claim, which is talking to the adjuster when the contractor's estimate for the work is higher than the adjuster's estimate, which in this case mine was. Ben was diligent in contacting and recontacting the adjuster when he would fail to respond and letting me know each step of the way what the status was. He was instrumental in helping get us to a point where the scope of work was agreed upon and could begin. My claim settled for 45% more than the adjuster's initial estimate. This is by no means a slam against the insurance company or any inference that the adjuster did anything wrong, but a strong recommendation to make sure the contractor you hire is well versed in dealing with claims/adjusters, truly cares about getting your home back to pre-claim condition, and getting your life back to normal as quickly as possible.

This is the third time we have used Minuteman Construction. We will not use anyone else for any future construction needs. They are always professional and personable. The quality of work is superb. In regards to this particular project, the entire kitchen was tore out. They installed new cabinets, flooring, counter tops and back splash. They even installed all of our appliances!! Our kitchen looks amazing and we are forever grateful for Minuteman Construction's amazing service. Thank you, Ben and crew!!

A guest overflowed our powder room toilet, flooding the bathroom, entry, laundry room, and into the kitchen. Because we had continuous laminate floors throughout our home (upstairs and down), all of the floors had to be replaced, as well as base and trim. Minuteman Construction came in after the tear-out and dry-out process and did all of the restoration work. Ben Culley/Minuteman Construction helped us through our insurance claim process and handled all of the details of our claim with our insurance adjuster, making the process as pain free for us as possible. Ben's employees and subcontractors are of the highest quality and were a pleasure to have in our home. They took impeccable care of our furnishings and maintained a clean and orderly work environment. Ben is very knowledgeable and went to the time and effort to ensure that colors and patterns were a good match and gave us excellent advise on design where needed. The Minuteman Construction team was prompt and absolutely dependable. We couldn't be happier with the results!

Minute Man Construction was a gift in the middle of a mess! The refrigerator ice maker hose started leaking. The water was going underneath the hardwood floors so went undetected until the lower floor ceiling fell in. From our first frantic call to the final completion of the project Ben was extremely. Each step of the process he dealt with the insurance adjustors and company. We were educated on the options and informed. In the end we were provided with all new solid oak wood floors, fully paid for by insurance. Without Ben?s guidance, this project could have been a nightmare. Every person who came to the house was an exceptional craftsman, each demonstrating integrity and professional behavior. Their first priority was making us happy with the outcomes, and they did. This project could have been a nightmare, the layout of the house if complex and we hold to extremely high standards, Ben and team exceeded our expectations.

We came home from a weekend away and were overwhelmed by the flooding and damage and didn't even know where to start. We called Minuteman Construction and in the initial telephone call they began to walk us through the necessary steps. They not only thoroughly addressed every issue we had, they kept in daily contact with us, our landlord and the insurance adjuster which greatly reduced our stress and kept us from having to go out of pocket for the repairs. They were prompt, professional and very clean. They took great care with matching paint and tile and insuring that the hardwood floor was restored to its original beauty. The original estimate from the adjuster came in at $9550.28 but Minuteman was able to complete the project with an approximate $1000 savings which covered our deductible. I would enthusiastically recommend Minuteman Construction.

Ben and Danny were the two people I worked with at Minuteman Construction. Both were extremely professional and thorough. Ben helped me understand the scope of our water damage and explained everything that he felt was required to fully repair the damage and get our house back to pre-loss condition. He helped me navigate the process of filing a claim with our insurance company and was involved in the whole claim process with me. Danny was the man in charge of the actual work and he was a perfectionist when it came to the detail work that makes or breaks a job like ours. He put our house back into a condition that was better than before the water damage. They had to remove all of the engineered wood flooring on the main floor of our house, remove all the cabinets in the kitchen, install new engineered wood flooring, re-install the cabinets, resurface our stone tile countertops (which Danny redesigned the layout of the tiles to give us a much cleaner look), and paint all of the molding and walls. The crew showed up every morning on time and stayed as late as we would allow them to each day. They knew that having our house torn apart was not pleasant for us and wanted to get thru the job as quickly as possible for us, so they offered to work as late as we would allow them to each day. Before they left each night, they thoroughly cleaned up and stowed their gear out of our way. They finished the job in a timely manner and made sure I was completely happy with everything before they even suggested the job was complete. Once it came time to settle the final billing, they were very fair and upfront about everything. They did the job for what they said they could do it and didn't play any games with me. They are a top notch, professional operation from start to finish and I highly recommend them. I will probably be hiring them again to help with a bathroom remodel project in the future.
