I had a small, covered, patio built over the summer and needed 2 short gutters installed along the sides. My Father contacted Dan, gave him the dimensions and he felt that he could do that for $200.00. After having checked with other companies that we found on Angie's List we decided to go with Dan. Dan and I had troubles connecting on the phone and we tried to keep things open ended, once we did connect, as to when he might be able to come by within the next week. Unfortunately his schedule did not open up and we set a date and time. On the day he was late, due to traffic, but he did call to let me know that they wouldn't be here when scheduled. He and his employee showed up with nice looking equipment, in good repair and went to work measuring and creating the gutters. I had purchased rain chains before hand and Dan was prepared not to install or include downspouts. When I told him that I had them laid out and ready to install he reminded me that he had only bid for the gutters which I was quite alright with as it seemed pretty self explanatory when it came to the installation, it would just take me a bit to get them up on my own. Finally, he was finished with the gutters (it took about 2 hours) and I looked outside to see that he was hanging the rain chains! He said that he had never installed them before and was only doing so for the experience and to see if they worked. He wasn't impressed with how they would work in a downpour, but I liked them. I also definitely appreciated not having to do the job on ,my own. When he was finished, the only sign that he had been there, was that there was no longer a trench being dug into the ground along the drip line (or drill, in this case) of the roof and my rain chains had been installed. There was no trash, cigarette butts, building debris, nothing at all left behind as some contractors have done, in the past. I found Dan to be quite pleasant and easy to work with and he did the work for exactly what he bid. I would most definitely use him in the future should I need gutter services, again, and recommend his work to friends and family.

Dan came out and gave a quote to replace gutters on my 1920's home. For aesthetic reasons I wanted the downspouts in specific places which, for the majority of downspouts, was no problem. There was one that, because of the way the house had settled, was particularly difficult. I appreciated that Dan made sure to talk with me about the pros and cons of placing the downspout in that location and after careful effort he got the gutter slope to work. The craftsmanship on the overall project was very good. The sole critique I would offer is in the installation of the downspouts it was necessary to cut a channel in a piece of trim to keep the downspout snug with the house. This was done in a way that resulted in an unclean cut. Not something that anyone but the homeowner is going to easily see but a tarnish on an otherwise excellent job. I also want to note that Dan was great about keeping me informed of his arrival and departure times.

Found Kerr Exteriors with Angie's List and called the number. Dan returned my call while on vacation in Alaska! Set up a time for an estimate within a few days and two days after that they were here installing. Good about calling just before they come and if they might be late. Very knowledgeable and professional plus they left the yard quite clean. They had do redo the entire front gutter and did so without any issues. Price was very reasonable. I've had much work done on the house this year and this has, by far, been the very best experience. Highly recommended!!

Dan and his helper Rob replaced the gutters on my house in August 2011, and did a fine job. I had never used Kerr Exteriors, nor had anyone I knew used them. Just got a good feel from the Angie?s List ad and reviews. Dan responded to my inquiry promptly. His bid was totally reasonable and he scheduled the job quickly, at my convenience, and required only a handshake to get started. The job was done in one very long day and when finished they cleaned everything up to my complete satisfaction, including taking away all old gutters and debris. Dan also did some touch-up painting on my eaves, and noticing that it was cracked, re-caulked the seal around my solar tube - and didn?t charge for that. Cool! I?ve got some roof drainage issues with an old add-on patio (not part of the original job), and Dan has been doing some consulting with me on how best to fix that as well. He?s smart and funny and ethical. I recommend him without reservation.

Dan was on time for the bid and it took him little time for him to give me a very reasonable price for the work he performed. This is the second time I have used his service and could not be happier with the results. He is a really nice guy and was very considerate to not let my dogs out while going through my gate while he went between his truck and the job. He completed the job in less time then expected and left no debris behind after the job. I would highly recommend Kerr Exteriors and will be using them in the future for all my house's exterior needs.

Dan Kerr was a pleasure to work with. He and his assistant removed the old gutters, notched the rafter tails to accommodate the 4-inch gutters, and replaced the gutters and the down spouts. He made sure the new gutters were sloped correctly, which was a real task due to the sagging dormers of my almost 100-year-old house. Rather than replace the down spouts as they were originally intended, he drained most of the roof to my back porch to get the water further away from my foundation. I really felt this was one of the areas he really went beyond what I expected. Another area where he exceeded my expectations was in his clean up. Not only de he remove all the old gutters and new gutter scrap, he cleaned up some of the stuff the roofing company left in my yard. The new gutters look and function great!

After receiving proposals in the $30,000 and up range from Milgard Dealer/Installers I called a retired contractor friend to discuss the proposals. Following his advice to take some of the project risk myself and act as my own "contractor" I have completed the project for under $18,000 and have nearly $4,000 in rebates coming from Milgard, Federal Tax Credit and Oregon Energy Trust Credit. First one needs to get educated, have a contractor friend or hire a knowledgeable and experienced window installer like Dan Kerr. My contractor friend spent half a day educating me on the do's and don'ts of new windows and how to measure every window opening properly and accurately. The frame outs are never square so the new and very square windows must be slightly undersized to avoid serious installation issues. Proper indirect measurement of the window frame out cavity, not the window itself, is critical. It can be very costly to end up with windows that do not fit the frame out cavity. An experienced installer like Dan Kerr can make those measurements for you. We attended one of the Milgard Saturday seminars asked a lot of questions and reviewed their show room to see the various window styles. After seeing many new window arrangement options we reviewed our needs and changed the functionality of several windows. After discussions with my contractor friend we found some of our windows would now need tempered glass (more expensive) to meet building codes and he explained how some simple changes in window style could reduced tempered glass requirement to two windows. My wife and I are delighted with the installation work done by Dan and Steve. The windows improve the look of our home, and will certainly lower our gas and electric bills. I saw first hand how poorly the original windows had been installed and left uninsulated. Milgard was my contractor friends choice of best value in windows so we looked no further. We chose a combination of Milgard Tuscany (vertical and horizontal sliders), Style Line for all view windows as they have a smaller frame and larger view area and their Classic Series Sliding Glass Doors.
