The tech was very professional and pleasant and replaced the offending outlet quickly and efficiently. He also took some extra time to reassure us about the integrity of our home's electrical system.
Description of Work: We had had some unrelated work done previously and as that contractor was cleaning up one of our electrical outlets started smoking when they plugged their vacuum into it.

Description of Work: Needed a outdoor outlet repaired that I thought had gone bad. Technician, Bobby, quickly identified the problem and solved it. Description of Work: Mason came out and gave me a bid to redo all the electrical wiring in my old house. I liked his professionalism and the way he communicated things to me. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the work so I could take care of other financial issues. They were so easy and flexible to work with during the process. Their work was very professional, and they left each workspace clean and tidy. As well, each graciously answered our questions and concerns. We couldn't have asked for more. We won't hesitate to call on Compass Electric the next time we need an electrician.
Description of Work: We needed to replace three outdoor lighting fixtures, one indoor lighting fixture, and two living room electrical outlets. In addition, we needed to repair one electrical box in a linen closet and to complete the homeowner's install of smoke detectors throughout the house.

 + -1 moreI did not get anything for my $175.00 and no response from Angie's list regarding the problem. What about your automatic complaint procedure that is supposed to kick in on a C rating or lower? I cannot get anything but an automated response from Angie's list. Just another fraud and ripoff!. Certainly not the place to go for reliable contractors. Such a disappointmen.
Description of Work: I paid the $175.00 for two hours of electrical work, Matt showed up as agreed. We were doing remodel, asked if he would like to bid on the whole project, and the $175.00 could be taken out of the final cost. He gave us a bid, and we told him we would hire him, send us a contract that we would sign and give him a down payment for the work. He never sent a contract, I could not contact him, and since we had other contractors scheduled to do work that relied on the electrical being done first, I contacted another contractor that was able to confirm he could make our date. I contacted Matt to tell him we had to go with another contractor since I had not heard from him. He was upset, I mentioned he could just refund the $175.00, but to date he has not. $175.00 seems steep to get an estimate. Matt seemed to be knowledgeable and professional, but not following up to many attempts to confirm that we had a contract, and then failing to return our #$175.00 'special' does not seem very professional to me.
