Description of Work: Purchased two brake services. Used only one. Advertised as available at multiple locations. Advised that new equipment was being installed at Mill Plain location so had to go to 82nd Avenue location. NOT convenient. Told on phone to expect 1 1/2 hours. Upon arrival, told to expect 3 hours. Tried to contact by e-mail (as my job takes me out of town weekly) on August 23rd to schedule other vehicle (hopefully) at Mill Plain location. No response to e-mail. Offer expired. Waste of money.

I bought the brake special on Angie's list but there was alot more wrong than what i thought. So i had to buy new rotors. new calipers then i decided to to the rear brakes. and then the struts. it just snowballed. They did a good job and i saw the old parts they were shot. just ended up being a lot of money.

First it took awhile for them to respond to my appointment request, When I arrived for my 8:30 appointment the building was locked. I waited for 45 minutes and emailed them with no response or follow up call. The place looked dumpy and unorganized.

I had purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List for $58, which was supposed to cover the rear brakes and rotor resurfacing. When I arrived (I had to wait a half hour for them to arrive and open late), they inspected my car and told me that the rotors needed replacing as they looked like they had rusted and had never been replaced. I said go ahead, finding out the cost was $180 more than I had expected with the Angie's List Big Deal. When I went home and looked at my service records, I saw that the rotors had been replaced the previous brake replacement (less than 2 years earlier). They should have been fine, just resurfaced. I feel that they took advantage of my lack of ignorance of how often they need to be replaced. And, in addition, the cost for replacement of brakes and rotors cost about the same as the dealer had charged two years earlier - not a Big Deal. I sent the manager a note about this and never heard back. I was pleased with the final outcome of the brake replacement, but would prefer to go to a dealer in the future. The biggest issue was with the poor value of the Angie's List Big Deal, which mislead me.

The primary reason for selecting this deal was Brake Force listed a facility very close to my home in Tigard (my wife has cancer and I am her primary caregiver). However, when I went to this local facility to check it out, they said they were not part of the Brake Force "team" and would not honor the deal. To me, listing this facility was misleading on the part of Brake Force. Therefore, I requested a refund from Angie's List, and I thank you for granting my request. I appreciate Angie's List's business integrity.

Bought a amazon local deal to get rear brakes for my 95 honda civic. When they found out that I had a discount, he add more that supposedly needed to be fixed. They want to replace my brake master cylinder, rotors, and brakes. His estimate was $600, he told me he would knock a $100 off to $500 since I had a coupon. But what didn't make sense is my coupon was $120 off. I knew then they were crap. I also never like places that give an even number for the cost.. Different Vehicles have different parts cost. He never looked the prices up, he just gave me a random price off the top of his head. I contacted amazon and was given a refund for my purchase. I took my vehicle to Gateway Tire in Gresham which I was very please with. They drilled out a bolt that had broken that was preventing me from replacing the muffler. They went ahead and installed the muffler for me and they also, flushed the radiator, replaced radiator cap, installed rear brakes, passenger side tire rod, and oil change for $350. I felt that Brake Team uses coupons to lure customers then perform unnecessary work.

Took 4 days for any contact. When we took the car in it was well over an hour before they looked at it. Then they told us it would cost over $1,000.00 to fix just the rear brakes. We refused & took it to Martins Automotive in Battleground, WA. The only thing needing to be done was rear brakes & pads for a cost of $179.00.

Hi Patrick--I've decided not to have the brakes done at your shop. I had an appt today at 1:30 and dropped my car off at that time. I had to wait in the office for ten minutes until I finally called out to the garage for someone to check me in. As I was waiting I noticed how run-down and unkept everything was. But I decided it was probably okay. I left my phone number and expected a call within the hour to let me know what needed to be done. I never received a call and finally called them at 3:00. The call did not go through to the Beaverton location. It was routed to the main office and the person who answered said they would call the Beaverton office and then have them call me. I didn't receive that call either. So I went back to the shop at 3:30 and found that they had just started to assess my car. I was pretty surprised considering it was supposed to be done in about an hour and a half. The excuse I was given was that they had a car commitment took five hours and they couldn't get to mine. I would've expected a phone call at the very least. I decided to cancel the appointment and I went ahead and brought my car home. When I got home I contacted Angie's list and I am having my coupon refunded. I also gave a call to Les Schwab and have an appointment there tomorrow to get my brakes fixed. I'm not sure how you ended up with a good rating on Angie's list, but I am going to give them a review so that no one else has a bad experience at your place. I hope you can clean up your shop and clean up your customer service or you won't be in business very much longer. Sincerely, Sandy Hough

The work took longer than I had planned to be there but it went well and so far the brakes are working fine.

The gentleman that help us, is very helpful in giving info as to what needs to be done to our car. Give us quote & why the service are needed. I only give B because it would be really nice if they park our car infront of the door (we have disabled parking permit) instead of the backside of their property where my disabled husband (walk with cane) has to walk and have the driver seat back to its original settings.

We went to Brake Team in Portland because the first Break Team we went to sent us there. The first one said they couldn't finish up and recommended we go to the one in Portland. We showed the second one our invoice and they had another look at the car. They tightened up the lug nuts the first ones had left loose. They put the spring on that wasn't put on correctly. They found a broken motor mount, where the other guys that were in there all day didn't figure that out. They got us right in, although we weren't an appointment. They opened up the wheel and found the springs that weren't tightened, found the motor mount problem, and then brought the car right back out. It was 15 minutes in and out! They didn't charge us, either.

Good first impression: I went in thinking I needed new rear drum brakes based on what another shop told me and recently had been experiencing some uneven braking. The Brake Team informed me that I still had 50% life remaining on the rear brakes. They were just really dirty and needed a little adjustment. They were honest and performed only the work needed. Cost was just $30. I appreciate the service and plan to bring them business in the future.

They did a very good job. The guy was very nice. They came in and got it done very quickly. I've questioned whether the Brake Team philosophy is something I want to stick with because he was talking about having to have something done in 2 years. Their quality of service was good. I'm not sure what the prices were in comparison to other ones. I was told by another mechanic that ceramic disk brakes were the best because they came with the car. This guy said that metal pads were better but I don't believe that's true. It was a little off-putting at times. This guy told me that wasn't true and put on other brake things. As far as it went, they were good but I'm not sure I'll go back because of the pad thing. I'm not sure they put the best parts on for the price. They were pretty professional. Let's put it this way, I think their profession was salesman and they sold me. The guy was a real nice guy and he did well for us. He did some discounting and things like that. I didn't do any other appraisals because my brakes were about to fall apart on me. Next time I'll do a little more research.
Description of Work: I ended up not having the back brakes done. I had to have all the rotors, calipers, and pads on the front replaced. They took $100 off of it.

There were some oil hoses that were leaking and it had to be replaced. There was some digging involved to replace them. They were fast in solving the problem, and there was no charge for it. They don't do just oil change or brake work; they?ve got more expertise than that. They are awfully quick and their prices are reasonable. They answer calls and return phone messages. They have been comfortable in with working with our car and in fixing all the issues.
