Description of Work: I had purchased 2 hours of in-home computer service from Angie's list more than 6 months ago for $89. Bob Klemola (owner) came to our home and worked on two computers and three external hard drives transferring data and pictures and cleaning up the computers. All 100,000+ pictures are now consolidated on one drive and the computers are working great. Bob worked 3 1/2 hours and did charge and extra $82 (including tax) for his time. The convenience of having him come to our home and fix our computer situation was well worth the money. Bob was very professional and enjoyable to work with.

Knowledgeable computer techs are very valuable and important if you work on computer for a living. Would call again for repairs or work needed on computers. Would highly recommend.!

 + -1 moreI'm fairly tech savvy, but after 1-2 weeks trying to connect an older desktop to our new wireless network, including way too many hours searching and trying various recommendations, I decided to get some professional assistance. Bob was very clear up from anout his call out fee and hourly rate afterwards. I was very through, tried much the same basics as I did to ensure I didn't goof up. He found and solved the issue very quickly. In hindsight it was a simple fix, but like all simple fixes it was only easy once you know where to look. It was Bob's depth of experience i was purchasing.

 + -1 moreAfter downloading Windows 8 I was unable to receive or send email. Contacted Bob at Tacoma Computer Lab and set up an appointment for him to come to my house and check my computer. After working on the problem for a couple of hours, he finally got the problem resolved. However the next day, the problem came back. Contacted Bob again and he came back out a day later and again worked on my computer for another couple of hours and my husband's until they were both in sync. and he didn't charge me anything for the call back. I would hire Bob again for any further computer problems, however hopefully I won't have to.
Description of Work: reconfigured computer settings to enable me to send and receive email, after downloading Windows 8.

 + -1 moreBob was friendly and professional. He looked over my computer and determined that I still had approx. 3/4 of disk space left. If that particular problem still exists, it is not my computer's fault. He checked over the files and error messages, reset and reinstalled several programs and upgraded my malware protection. Would definitely call on Bob again if I had other computer problems.
Description of Work: Determine if my laptop was out of disk space as a pop up message from a well known music site kept notifying me.

Description of Work: Fixed my dead PC. The jack for AC was loose and not charging the battery or running the computer any longer. The fan was also stuck. He took the thing apart, I mean really took it apart. Fixed the fan and the PC is now operating on both AC and the battery. I do wish he knew about Mac's, but he did get to everything I needed regarding the PC and did a great job.

 + -1 moreHe was very professional and though he was late initially by another project, he kept us informed that he would be later than expected. After the work was completed, he deducted for the tardy time from the final fee.
Description of Work: My computer had been without internet security had picked up a lot of malware and a virus. He came and cleaned it all out, installed a malware protection. Now the computer runs much faster.
