Description of Work: Steve Hanson of Hanson's Concrete, Inc. was very professional and made very good recommendations. I had a old driveway and walkway to the front door removed. The new driveway looks great and the walkway to the front door has a stamped concrete pattern which updates the house and really accents the walkway. His crew was very professional also and did good prep work and good cleanup. They showed up when they were supposed to be there and finished the job on the day they promised. The bid for the job was better than another bid I had. The only issue I had was that the concrete stained some of the siding by the entry as well as the front door and all of these areas will need to be repainted---the way they protected the siding did not work as well as it should.

Description of Work: Called on Monday for an estimate, was told that June would call me back. Granted Wednesday was a holiday, but it is now Friday at 1:00pm. Complete fail, thanks for the great customer service (wreaking with sarcasm). If we were outside the service area or the job was too small you think they could have told us that when we called or at least called back to let us know. 7/10/12 - I heard from the provider, Steve, very unprofessional conversation, hung up after he said he didn't think it was fair that they had to receive a F rating just for having to deal with someone like me. Apparently there was a wedding or something in the last week, it's the busy season, etc. No matter what the case, it is not a complicated thing to communicate with potential customers how long it may be until they can schedule an estimate.

 + 1 moreRon (I hope I'm remember his name correctly--this was over a yr ago), the owner, was prompt and very nice. The foundation work, which was correcting structural damage, seemed like it would be beyond his company's scope. His costs sounded reasonable for the patio, but we decided that we would DIY that project and leave the foundation repairs until we could afford an engineer. While we didn't use Hanson Concrete or any other contractor for this particular project, I would definitely call him again. He was responsive and took his time with us, that I would feel comfortable working with him on future projects. Nice to see a local business that treats their potential customers so well.

 + 1 moreSteve was quick in coming out and giving us a quote. He had some great ideas and steered us in the right direction in choosing where to use stamped concrete and why it wouldn't be the best choice on a steep driveway. Once we made our decision, he told us it would be about 2 weeks, but was able to start the job sooner which was a big plus with the weather changing. His crew was very professional, courteous and careful of existing landscaping. They removed all the old concrete and set the forms on day one and poured and did the stamping on day two. They did a wonderful job with the walkway, making it easy for my mother to use her walker on. They were also able to address some old problems with the driveway. We are very happy with the final results. Using a combination of broomed concrete with a stamped border on the driveway and matching the border and walkway gives us a safe as well as wonderful looking entry.

 + -1 moreI am giving Hanson's a big fat F. I trusted the all A reviews that were given to this company. The owner came out and measured, listened to us, helped us pick out a color and pattern and then never submitted a bid for the work. He knew we had the money in the bank and were anxious to get started. We called, emailed, called again. He kept telling us he would get us the bid soon. It never did come. Feel very duped by this owner and all the good reviews. Our yard is still not done as we kept waiting and giving him the benefit of the doubt. Would love to find a great stamped concrete company who will actually give us a bid and do the work.

He kept in touch by email and on the day of the service, called to confirm a convenient time. He was prompt and quickly did the work. Even though this was a very small job he treated it as if it were much larger. I will definately use him again and refer him to others.

 + -1 moreThey were a no-show on the quote. They did not respond to my request to come out for a quote. They said they would call me back but they never did. When I called them a week later, they said they wouldn’t be able to come out for another week; so they seemed generally not interested in even pursuing it. They just did not seem interested in coming out for a quote, over the phone.

 + 0 moreWe are very pleased with Hanson's Concrete. We were in the middle of an exterior remodel when our old stairs suddenly cracked and crumbled. Since it was a safety hazard and finishing the remodel was dependent on the now-needed stair work, we were in need of a fix pretty quickly. I got bids from 4 contractors and went with Steve in the end. He was very responsive, his bid was reasonable, and he could also start work within a few days. It also helped that we took care of a lot of this over the phone and email. For the initial bid, I sent him pictures and dimensions and we went over the details on the phone. The next day he came out to have a look and verify everything and then started work the following Monday. The crew worked very hard at tearing out our monster juniper. It took more work and trips than anticipated, but they did a thorough job of it. They made quick work of removing the old concrete and setting up molds for the new. And then two days later (because of weather), they poured the new concrete and stamped it. It looks beautiful and we've been getting compliments ever since. My husband and I couldn't be happier. I will definitely be calling Steve when it's time to replace the retaining wall in the back yard.

Description of Work: I was adding a 30X15 foot side extension to my existing driveway. The responsiveness of Steve Hanson was fantastic. He showed up to give me a bid and I was not at home, so he left his business card and then followed up with a phone call. I stated that I wanted to go ahead with the project and asked if he could again come back out and go over exactly what I wanted. Steve stated he would be there the next day, he was. Good thing I had him come back out because I did not clearly state what I wanted and he had to redo the bid. This was fine with me because I had made the mistake. I liked what he proposed and the cost was perfect. His crew showed up the next day to lay out the extension and dig out the sod. This took the better part of a day to remove that much sod and it was very hard work. His crew was the best, they worked very hard and laid it out perfectly. The following week the concrete was delivered and Steve and his crew made me a perfect extension that matched the existing aggregate concrete driveway. I can not properly express how professional and meticulous they are. Just to watch them spread and level the concrete, set the seams, do the corners and then spray the aggregate finish. Perfect job, I could not have asked for anything more. They cleaned up everything and they were gone. WOW !! Thank you for a job well done.

 + 1 moreSteve Hanson (owner) was very responsive to our initial calls and provided a timely & accurate estimate. He also was very helpful over the phone with many of our questions and provided suggestions for prepping the site. We particularly appreciated his use of steel rebar as several other contractors had included only wire mesh in their estimates. He arranged both the concrete delivery and the needed concrete pump truck. The day before the pour he and the crew arrived on time to form up the sport court. The used laser transits to ensure the proper slope of the pad, then installed the forms and rebar. For the patio, they anchored the rebar into the foundation. On the day of the job his crew showed up on time and worked diligently to complete both pours. This included grooved expansion joints and the stamped stone pattern that we had selected. The crew members were polite and friendly throughout the long day's work. They also thoroughly cleaned the work areas. Two days later two crew members showed up on time to apply the sealer coat. Later that week we noticed that the release color had not fully appeared in all areas of the stamped patio. We called Steve Hanson and he personally came out the next day to re-apply additional sealer that brought out the release color in those areas.
Description of Work: Formed and poured a 550 sq ft sport court w/ colored concrete & a brushed finish. The form work included rebar and both curved and straight edges. Also poured a pre-formed 580 sq ft colored & stamped patio. The patio included base coloring, release tinting, and sealer.

 + 0 moreOverall it went alright. Steve measured and gave us a bid which was slightly less than what we ended up paying him. He under estimated the amount of concrete and on the day of the pour asked me if I would split the difference with him. I agreed. I told him that day that I wanted the brushed finish rather smooth. That is where I am not so happy. I have some areas that are brushed nice and smooth like I wanted and other areas that are so rough you could cut your feet on them. I called Steve to see what he could do to fix the problem. He thought I was asking about the fact that the color is uneven (it is) but I clarified. He said he would stop by to see the patio. This was over a month ago. I waited for a month before putting in this report to see if he would do something to smooth out the rough surface in some of the areas of the patio but he has never called or come by. I figure he isn't coming or willing to do anything about it.
