I was the producer on this photoshoot, and after surveying the damage, I asked the location rep(friend of the owner)to get a bid for the touch up and get back to me. I have some experience in painting so I knew this could not be a big job (I guesstimated 1 day for 2 painters), but I also knew it was a prime opportunity for someone to take advantage of the situation and bid high. Lo & behold the bid came back at about $2200 w/ tax, which included 3 days labor for 2 painters!! In a bit of a panic I plugged ''painting contractors Seattle'' into Google and up popped Seattle Painting & Decorating. I called and left a message, and Steve Chayer returned the call within 5 minutes. I told him the situation, and then emailed him photos of the location w/ notes. He said at least preliminarily, the bid did seem high, and would I like him to take a look and give me an estimate. I said yes, and he looked at the place on Tuesday, and had his crew in there on Thursday to complete the job!

Steve came out to give advice and measure for an estimate. He provided three options of paint quality, giving us pricing options. After making our selection and emphasizing a deadline for our open house, Steve made sure that the job was completed on time by assigning enough workers to complete the task in two+ days. We are extremely pleased with the quality job performed by the painting crew, our house is beautiful and we received many comments on the exceptional quality of work from the guests at the open house. We were very impressed with the way Steve provided direction to his crew and made sure that they had everything necessary to do the job well. Steve truly runs a professional painting business with a personal touch and exceptional attention to detail.

Steve was quickly in and out at time of estimate; this was one of three estimates and pricing was mid-range (but almost 50% below the most expensive, some painting companies must be way overpricing). Start of paint job was delayed due to another job taking longer than expected. This was fine as remodeling job was just being finished (and because of the short delay they reduced the bill accordingly). Once the team started, things moved quickly, professionally, and with great communication. After a year of dealing with contractors and subcontractors who pay variable attention to detail, it was refreshing to have the excellent work AND communication from Steve and Javier. There were a few areas that needed attention to detail after the job was complete; I e-mailed Steve and someone was out to fix them the next day. The paint job looks beautiful, as promised. Will gladly use them again.

FABULOUS! I was very impressed by the professional approach the entire crew put into the job. They were very conscientious about keeping everything organized and did an amazing job cleaning up after themselves. All painting was done by spray so the surfaces are as even and smooth as can be. We did learn some things from this job, which turned into something a little larger than either of us expected at the start. Steve Chayer is the owner of SPADCO and is personally involved in making certain anything that was not up to my expectations was taken care of cheerfully and completely. When the wiring for the doorbell slipped into the wall Steve himself came to the house and was able to track and reconnect the wiring without any damage to the newly painted wall. When the hardware for a window blind was misplaced, Steve replaced the blind without question. They also now have a more efficient way of keeping track of hardware that gets removed so this should never happen again.

Initial job was inconsistent in quality. There were persistent communication problems between management and the workers assigned to the job. This was partially offset by management's desire to set things right. Overall, however, the job took longer than necessary and needed constant oversight by home owner.

Overall, it went really well and we are very pleased with the final results. We used a total of eight wall colors and one ceiling color. There was some confusion about what color went on which wall but any misunderstandings were cleared up the same day or next day and were corrected to our specifications. The foreman and his team were very professional and responsive in relation to all of our feedback and were very enjoyable to work with. We did have an unfortunate accident - during the painting of the kitchen, one of the workers scratched our hardwood floor while moving the fridge. The owner was very apologetic about the incident and a settlement was quickly reached that was agreeable to all parties. Steve was very professional and respectful during all of our interactions with him and worked very hard to keep us happy and make sure everything was exactly as we wanted it to be.

Overall, the job went very well. There was some confusion early on as to which colors were supposed to go where, mainly due to us wanting to use a combination of three new colors and to there being many different surface areas (vertical and horizontal) on the house. The team was very receptive to our feedback and requests, and we were very pleased with the quality of their work and level of professionalism. We've received many compliments on the new look of the house, and we're very pleased with how the final product turned out.

This company is really a class act. Every staff person from the supervisors to the guys doing the work were professional in every way. They produced a quality product and were attentive to every detail. They were very patient and accommodation in adjusting their time around other work that we were having done and then when we asked them to do additional rooms. I could go on and on. It was just a pleasure to work with them.

The crew had begun to paint the exterior trim, and I decided that I didn't like the color. I told Steve, and they changed the color no problem. Very hands on. Great communicator.

Work was fine. Poor follow up regarding scheduling of the work. Dates were not firm.

Once again, Seattle Painting and Decorating proved to be one of the best companies I've worked with. They painted the interior of my home last year and I was excited to have them back to do my exterior. Steve worked very hard and quickly to get the work done within my timeframe! Most of the work was done in 2 days. The crew was a pleasure to have around my home; they are very respectful!They worked diligently until the job was done to our liking. I will use them for all my painting needs and recommend them highly to everyone!

Steve Chayer provided tremendous service even though his company didn't end up doing the work (due to circumstances beyond Steve's control)

Steve Chayer and his painting crew were the most professional people that we have ever dealt with in home improvement. From our first contact with Steve to get an estimate, we were very comfortable with him. Steve was friendly, professional, and helpful with making decisions on how we wanted to proceed with the job. When the painting crew arrived they were courteous, efficient, and did a very good job. Our home was left clean and there was a minimal impact on our lives. For any painting jobs we have in the future, Steve Chayer will be the first person we will call on.

Not having any experience with home ownership, I went with a company that had an excellent showing on Angie's List. I was not disappointed. Steve came right out to give a quote for the work, meeting me exactly on time at my unit, on a busy Saturday. He recommended a full color analysis and later that week, Jessica came over and designed a color scheme of five different paint colors, using the fireplace as the starting point and harmonizing the remaining surfaces throughout the condo. Steve was able to schedule the painting work for an whole week earlier, than my projected schedule. Nacho and Raphael arrived promptly to perform the work and were professional and courteous. They did a tremendous job on all the surfaces, taking the doors off-site to complete that portion. They moved my washer-dryer from its cabinet and painted every last surface including, some trim I had overlooked. The walls look great, trim is excellent and the colors blend perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased.

EXCEPTIONAL WORK. THEY DID A VERY HIGH QUALITY JOB, QUICKLY AND REASONABLY PRICED. JESSICA HELPED WITH THE COLOR SELECTION AND HER ART WALLS ARE WONDERFUL AND VERY SPECIAL. THEY WERE ALL ON TIME AND FINISHED IN TIME FOR MOVE-IN, EVEN WORKING LATE INTO THE NIGHT. WE COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED WITH THE WORK AND EVERYONE INVOLVED. STEVE IN PARTICULAR IS VERY ACCOMMODATING AND CONSCIENTIOUS.

Impeccable service and professionalism. We were moving into a new home with a very short time frame to get painting, electrical, plumbing, and flooring done. The team at Seattle Painting worked within our time frame and with the other trades. They even painted inside the closets! We used the Angie's coupon for a free color consultation and that made a huge difference for us as we had confidence that the colors would work well in the home.

This was one of the best teams I've ever hired. The lead knew how to get the team moving, and they knew what it would take to set up the room and get the painting done with true professionalism. They made our move much easier for us, and everyone really enjoys the colors and what was done to our walls. They are the best! We will tell everyone who needs interior painting to contact this company.

Steve came out to our home to prepare an estimate and provided the same with very little turn around time. He was extremely polite and informative throughout the entire process. We are very pleased with the professional quality of this paint job to our new home. Steve, Javier and their efficient crew completed the job in just two days and did a spectacular job. We could not find ANY blemishes or drips anywhere- it was well worth it to hire this professional crew to spruce up our home, it makes a huge difference in every room.

Steven takes great pride in the quality of work that he and his crew produce. He was professional and a pleasure to work with. The SPAD Co. crew was prompt and worked efficiently. They were friendly and very polite. When a small difficulty arose with one of my color selections, it was solved immediately without a problem. At the end of the painting project, the crew vacuumed! (Making their work site even cleaner than when they had arrived that morning!)

Estimation Process - The estimation process was very thorough. Steve and Javier walked each room noting the quality of the previous paint work, pointing out areas that needed repair and asking careful questions about what I was looking to achieve. They were more than happy to deliver on what I was asking for but also provided insight as to other options and approaches I had not considered. Detailed measurements and options regarding paints, finishes, etc. were discussed and referenced in the final quote. Prep Work - Javier and team did an amazing job of sealing off the work areas making sure there was no impact to the rest of the house making it still livable throughout the process. Paint & Stain Work - The end product is fantastic! Javier is quick to point out problem areas and explain what steps he would like to perform to resolve any such issues. The attention to detail and passion for quality show through in each room. I greatly look forward to working with them.

Thy painted the room just the way I wanted and they did a very nice job. I will have them back again to do more work.

This was my 2nd time to use this excellent company. They do a superlative job. They are thorough and conscientious. They took the extra time and effort to fix a large number of cracks in walls and ceilings, of a 1928 building, that weren't obvious until painting began, for no extra charge. The work is very high quality and the staff who do the work are exceptionally pleasant and helpful. This is an outstanding company.

From start to finish and top to bottom, Seattle Paint and Decorating Co. provided me with CONSISTENT prompt and very courteous service! The work performed was reasonably priced AND of the highest quality. The neatness, level of detail, and overall professionalism was very impressive. The Seattle Paint and Decorating Co. TEAM were truly a joy to have in my home. The experience was one that I will be more than willing to repeat when they return to paint the downstairs portion of my home. THESE GUYS ARE GREAT!
