I had purchased a top of the line Precision workstation from Dell. Shortly thereafter, I added a new additional hard drive that was not recognized by the system. So began a six week nightmare with off-shore Dell tech support spending days with me on the phone which only made the problem worse. Soon I had a dead computer with no operating system and Dell's tech support was at a total loss to get it working again. I discovered Salmon Bay Technology because I needed to find someone to download a specific driver that Dell said might work. I chose SBT because from their website, I could tell that they were familiar with server technology and workstations in addition to personal computers. When I described the problem I was having to Eric at SBT, he immediately grasped what I needed and suggested that if Dell ultimately had no solution, they could probably be able to get me system working exactly as I wanted it. The driver that Dell wanted me to try did not work, and after several more weeks of bad advice and bad communication from Dell, I gave up on them and brought my workstation in to Salmon Bay Technology. We opened up my computer and right away Matt saw what the problem was. By the time I checked in the next day, Matt had not only got my beautiful Dell Precision T7600 working perfectly, but also had successfully connected all eight hard drives, installed the operating system I wanted on a solid state drive, and added an extra internal back-up drive. These are things that the Dell techs told me would be impossible to do. The people at Salmon Bay Technology really seem to enjoy their work. They approach working on computers with interest and enthusiasm. I felt like they really listened to what I wanted and cared about solving the problem I was having. I could not have been happier with the way I was treated and the final result - accomplished so quickly and at a reasonable hourly rate. Now, I feel like I have a good connection to people who understand my computer and will be there for me if I have any more questions or problems. They are in a wonderful, scenic Seattle location next to the Ballard Ship Canal. It is a big warehouse with lots of free parking.
