Adding the heating oil delivery part of the business in the 1940's. Focusing on the heating oil side of the business, Rossoe ended furnace production in the early 1960's. I have a yearly contract with them so I didn't pay anything. They are very efficient and mannerly and always explain things to me that I don't understand. They are just a very good company. I have had them for so many years now probably 50 years. They just always have been very good and they always treated me very nicely. I would continue to use them.

Shaun was the servicer who come to our house. Overall, he was simply outstanding. He not only carried out the required tune up, but also walked us through the functions of the oil furnace (most of which were new to us, as first time home owners). He had great suggestions on how we could gain additional comfort by signing up for PLIA and also a couple of other fairly low cost services from Rossoe. Left us with a great sense of confidence in our furnace and in the home. We are not yet sure whether all of Rossoe's people are as good as Shaun was but we certainly expect to go back to Rossoe to find out!

They tested my boiler and if there were any damaged parts, replaced them. It took a few hours to do the maintenance. The furnace worked fine since then and I'm happy with the service.

Everything went on as promised, and even better. Not only were the Rossoe people efficient and curteous, but they also tried to help us with a problem not connected with their service ( fancy cooking range broken and impossible to remove the  computer from the range). I would recommend them to everybody - we have been their customers for many , many years and they were always, prompt, polite, and, more pertinent to the question, extremely competent

I would not use them again. Upon moving into the house, they supposedly changed a zone valve so the house would have heat. We had some issues with clanging in the pipes. We called them and they sent our someone who did not know anything about our system. He then had to call another person. They discovered that there were problems that should have been fixed prior. I ended up having another company come out and they found that Rossoe had not made the correct repairs to the zone valve. The new company then corrected the problem.

The guy that came out was a great guy but I sat around and waited 6 1/2 hours for him. It was not his fault; it was the scheduler's fault. They always pack more in than those guys can do which guarantees they will be late for the later people. Their billing system is absolutely screwed up. They took my credit card number and I still don't even know how much it was. It is $158 to show up at my door and diagnose the problem. Before the guy even shows up at the door they charge my credit card $250. When I hang up the phone from making the appointment they charge $250. They then say they will refund if it is less than $250 and credit me back. They have my credit card number; they should wait until we find out what it will cost and then charge it. They say that is not the way they do it. When it is 27 degrees and my furnace wasn't working I didn't have a lot of options so I went with somebody who said they would get to me that afternoon. Then they showed up at 7 pm that night. The guy was great but the company is not very customer service oriented. They said they would give me half an hour's notice and I told them I needed 1 1/2 hours because I had things to do and they said they couldn't do it. It was really ridiculous. I will not use them again. The guy was great and very professional but the company was horrid.

Customer service on the phone was very nice. The person that came to the house was very nice, efficient, and clean. They did good work and I'm pretty sure he came on time.

They were very good and did a good job. The service they do on the furnace is free because we buy our fuel oil from them. They are very clean and leave everything very clean when they are done. They promptly show up when we ask them to. It is an older furnace and it is not always easy so they have had to play around with it to get it right. They are a good company and they have always done good work for us.

They charge $120 to inspect the furnace. They are fine. They have always kept up us up to date on oil, and they have always come out when we needed them to do the furnace job.

I've called them before because I didn't understand the billing and they were very nice to me. They seem very responsive and they told me that I have a contract with them. I've never went looking for anyone else, so I'm not sure how they compare on cost with other companies. The quality is good, not outstanding, because they don't tell each other that we have a funny oil intake so sometimes people come and think our tank is full when it isn't. This message is from three years ago, and the service has improved since then. They are reponsive when I call, and will send someone when needed.

On the coldest day of the year in Seattle our beefy/fairly new Lennox "Elite" furnace died on us. I called seven shops who said the earliest they could come out and take a look was next Wed (eek!!). With a two year old boy, a pregnant wife and a 39 degree temp (literally) in my living room (and new storm on the way) I began to panic. I called Rossoe and they said they were also way over booked but would have someone call me just incase there was a sliver of time / cancellation etc. (the other shops basically just said nope/sorry and tried to get rid of me). About an hour later, one of Rossoe s service guys, "Sean", called me back. Over the phone he patiently diagnosed the issues and walked me through the detailed process of checking components and how to fix the problem (I'm one of the folks who can't fix anything that doesn't involve a keyboard and a mouse) and then he told me to call him back if the methods he explained didn't work. He did this in-between jobs during the busiest day of the year - for no charge - and he left me with the firm impression that he wasn't going to let my family sit there and freeze no matter what happened ultimately his guidance and explanations allowed me to get the furnace running again. I'm a busy guy, I don't have time to write service/product reviews and have not used their services before but you better believe I'll be recommending Rossoe on every on-line review site I can find. They saved me and my half frozen family when I really (really) needed help for no charge - clearly they care about people. This caring about people concept is refreshing. They were great and didn't make me feel stupid. Like a lot of people, I'm strapped for resources. I need to be able to call them and get the oil in fairly small quantities and in a hurry. They are wonderful at delivering the same day. The price listed is what I spend per month. I will continue to use them in the future.

They drilled a large hole (larger than needed) in the exhaust duct to insert a device that could detect soot in the exhaust stream. They then adjusted the fuel/air mixture to make it leaner (more air, less fuel) so the mixture would burn more completely & not generate soot. They had nothing with them to plug the hole they drilled when they finished & left me to plug it when they were done. They also removed a small plug from an inspection hole & did not replace it when they left. I looked everywhere but could not find it. Several hours after they left, when my house cooled & the thermostat kicked in, my furnace did not start. I called one of the servicemen back on his cell phone & he asked if they could send someone back the next day. I said no & insisted someone return that night. He returned & replaced the oil filter & was able to get the furnace started again, but I'm not sure that was the problem. Less than one month later, my furnace has again failed to start & there is new soot around the exhaust duct. I am now shopping for a new serviceman. I will use Rossoe as a supplier of heating oil if their price is competitive, but I will not use them to service my furnace again.
