Michael's Landscaping-A Better Pruning

This was our third time using Michael's Landscaping. I called Michael to ask about cutting down the plant growth on a hillside, which he had down the previous year, so he knew the area of the work, and to see if he could remove two trees that we too close the house. A couple of days later, Michael came by to do the work and look at the trees. He quickly completed a first pass clean-up, and advised that he would need to call in someone to help to cut down the trees, as they were too large for him to handle himself. He called me back with an estimate on the tree removal, once I approved the costs, he scheduled the work. A couple of days later the trees were removed and Michael came back to complete the clean-up. The whole job took less than a week to complete. Michael and I also spoke about things I could do to try to limit the growth, and prep the area for future landscaping. Michael is very timely in preforming the work and is always concern with my satisfaction. We'll continue to using Michael, as we are pleased with his results.

I called, He called back. He showed immediately, gave and estimate of work to be done and started work. He was done with the job in about three hours...hacking and hewing and cleanup. Money well spent!

I called him up and asked if he wanted to do some yard cleanup work, which hadn't been done since the fall. He came over a day later, looked over the yard, told me what he was going to do, and gave me a price for each item. He showed up a day or so later and within a week the work was done for the price we agreed on. This isn't the first time I've hired Michael to work on my yard. He continues to be punctual and professional, with reasonable prices. He offers good suggestions on making the yard look better. I plan to continue using his services.

Michael always does a great job, and I am finding he's just as thorough with the smaller jobs as the big ones he's done for me in the past. He was incredibly prompt, coming out the same day we spoke on the phone. He followed through on all of the work he said he would perform. Were it not for how much better my yard looked, I would never have known he had been here because he cleaned up so thoroughly (he even hauled my yard waste bin to the curb for me). He gives simple advice for how I can maintain things between his visits and gives me options for saving money each time he's out. I really enjoy working with him, and couldn't be more satisfied with the way things look.

Mike's work is excellent. The hedge looks better then it ever has, and we've lived in this house for 20 years. As billed, clean up was perfect - and he did much of the coordination with our neighbors, to be sure he could pick up in their yards too.Mike deserved hazzard pay on this job ... as one neighbor has been historically unhappy with our pruning plans. Even though he should not have had to deal with this friction (and I'm not entirely sure that he would have agreed to the job up front, had he known), he dealt with the situation with a great deal of finnesse. In fact, he did a far better job working with this family than we had been able to. This same neighbor ended up paying Mike to do work in their yard! Mike and his crew did a beautiful job on the hedge AND helped us improve the interaction with a neighbor. We are grateful, and will certainly call him again.

Made two appointments to meet with Michael regarding pruning small hedges and both times, he did not show up. Initially had issues with meeting up with Michael but he did call eventually and we were able to connect. "Balls are dropped" at times but it all worked out. Once we finally met and he started the job, it all went well. Once he gets started on a job, Michael is quick and thorough.

From estimate through to completion, Michael showed up on time and worked diligently, completing the job in ~13 hours.

Michael was great to work with. He returned my call very promptly, kept in contact about best time to come over for an estimate, and was fun and easy to talk to regarding the work I needed done, and general life things. He gave me a quote right then and there, and I felt the price for each task was very fair. He priced it by tree and how much pruning was needed. Price included haul and disposal. He said the work could be done by the end of the week. When I came home the next day, he had come, pruned, and left the yard so clean I almost didn't notice the work! Some of the cuts seem a little bit sloppy (mostly on the Yew, which really was so big I'm sure he couldn't cut each branch with precision), but 95% of the pruning looked terrific, done right, clean cuts. I would highly recommend Michael. No surprises, thorough, fast, and fair.

The yard looked FABULOUS! We were super impressed as were all of our neighbors. He was out to give me an estimate within a day of calling, and he started the work right away. I'll definitely use Michael again and recommend him to others!

Michael did an amazing job cleaning up our property for Spring. He weeded our whole garden and cleared our beds of old leaves and the winter mush. He cleaned our deck of moss and scrubbed it so we can have it stained this Summer and he power- washed our whole property - I can't even express how much work he did - what would have taken me weeks - took Michael two days. He made dump runs and cleaned up areas of our yard that have been overlooked for many years. Our property hasn't looked this nice every. I highly recommend Michael - he has a keen eye and so much knowledge about property up-keep that we will be setting up a schedule for him to return throughout the year. He is a very kind person with lots of energy for tough work and he has an incredible ethic when it comes to getting the job done. I have never been happier with a landscaping service and look forward to working with him again in the future.

Michael is so kind and has such an amazing work ethic. I called him when a neighbor's tree fell onto our house and we were in a bit of a crisis mode. He calmed me and came over ready to work. His quote was so fair I almost cried because I was afraid someone could really take advantage in such a situation - Michael is very ethical and gave us only fair pricing for the work. He carefully assessed the site before he started work (if the tree shifted it would have caused severe damage to our home and possibly even the neighbor's property.) Michael worked all day and kept he work area clean and safe, he was careful and methodical and only stopped for a short lunch break. He removed, by himself, a 45-50ft tree that was leaning on our roof that could have easily turned into a HUGE problem if not handled professionally. Michael is highly professional and ensured after a full days work that the work site was clean and then arranged for all of the large branches to be chipped and removed that very evening. Michael removed the tree on our house, negotiated with our neighbor so he could work safely in his yard, cleared the area and then arranged to have everything removed all within the same day. He is amazingly resourceful, professional and kind. I highly recommend Michael for tree removal and yard work.

I called Michael for a clean up of our front yard, and he was here a few hours later. The next day our front walk is cleaned, our yard is free of leaves and he even scraped off the moss and swept our back patio, which is a disaster. It looks great.

Michael responded quickly to my call to schedule an estimate with a few days and did the work very soon after that, in North Seattle. With a baby at home, our weeds and plants had gotten out of control. He tackled our big front, side and back yards and really whipped everything into shape. He's very friendly and personable.

He was responsive, timely, and provided great recommendations to help me meet my goals with my yard. From a time perspective he exceeded my expectations. My yard looks beautiful. I have had compliments from friends and neighbors. I will continue to use Michael to help maintain my yard throughout the year.

After three years of inattention, the shrubbery in both the front and back yards were seriously overgrown. Michael pruned and shaped each individual plant, - and there were dozens, - so it would look its best. He is extremely knowledgeable about all varieties of plants, and how to take care of them. He also trimmed the hedges, removed some diseased shrubs and replaced them, cut back ivy and blackberry vines, and thoroughly tidied up all the ground. All the debris was removed, so that the place was completely neat and clean at the end. Michael is professional, punctual, and sticks to his estimate.

I called Michael at A Better Pruning on a Friday afternoon, he came over about an hour later and gave me an estimate for the work I needed done. The next Monday evening I arrived home from work to a completely trasformed yard! He limbed up a Doug Fir and three Maples, removed a monster mugo pine, pruned back another monster shrub and cleaned up so well that I wouldn't have ever known he was there if not for how much better my front yard looked. 100% satisfied with the whole experience.

He worked quickly and did an excellent job, I would hire him again.

Micheal was very responsive. He came out the next morning to consult and walk the property and gave me a bid that morning. After signing off on the bid Micheal and his son got right to work that afternoon. Both were very hard workers and completed the entire list within two days of my call. The yard looks great and we are all set until Spring. Michael even spread some bark over a few yard areas for me to help keep the weeds at bay. Great job and would certainly use again.

My lilac tree was sick and 2 trees needed to be pruned. Called Michael on a friday. he came over friday evening for a quote and started the work the next day and finished on monday. We ended up cutting down the lilac-too sick and pruned the heck out of my ornamental evergreen. A great job! I would call him again for sure.

Michael was responsive, communicative, thorough and efficient. The project went smoothly from the moment I called him. He came out the next day to give me an estimate, and started work the day after that. He took a lot of time to talk with me about my yard and explain my options. He gave me his opinion about things that needed attention and things that could wait, and suggested ways I could save money in the short and long term. He bought materials (bark, gravel) for me, hauled away yard waste, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end. The yard - which was quite overgrown and dying - looks fantastic after all of his work. He was a pleasure to work with. I will definitely be calling him again when it's time for the next project!

Michael was very responsive and came out within 30 minutes of my initial call for a review of the project. He got started the next day. Did a great job and the work looks very clean! He also had good advice for looking at the yard from a rental property perspective for maintenance. I'll use him again!

I called Michael on Saturday and asked him to provide us with an estimate. I left a message and he called me back within an hour and said he would be out on Tuesday to give me an estimate. On Sunday he called to say he was in the neighborhood and would be happy to come by and give me a quote. He was at my house within 20 minutes of my phone call and we had an excellent discussion. He knew exactly what I wanted and understood what was going to be involved in terms of trimming the hedge and what would work best with the type of hedge species that I had. This approach would minimize the overall amount of future hedge trimming that I would have to do. My neighbor actually came out at the same time that Michael was here and engaged Michael into trimming his hedge which was the same plant species. Michael said he would be out by Wednesday and have it done. I am just now writing this report to say that Michael showed up Monday morning and had the hedge completely trimmed and all the debris picked up within about an hour and a half. I can't tell you how delighted I am. Michael is very professional and really understands the work. He gets it done and goes over and above what might be expected. I have to say that he is worth every penny that you pay him. I would use Michael's services again anytime for any future yard and gardening needs that I might have.

Michael came out during the rain and got right to work -- it was a job my husband and I couldn't do by ourselves. We had used Michael several months before for hedge trimming (hedges right, they're 35 feet tall!) and branch trimming (almost twice the height of the hedges!) and he did a MARVELOUS job -- so much so, I hired him on a regular basis to keep the yard work up from now on -- his price is very fair and his work is impeccable. I don't usually post a report to Angie's List unless I am "WOWed"....needless to say, his professionalism, in-depth knowledge of all things green and his responsiveness are exactly what I was looking for and received. He exceeded all of our expectations and then some...
