They spent several days getting the exterior cleaned up and ready for paint, after pressure washing, a significant amount of sanding and priming was needed. The painting and trim work went quickly once the house was prepped and was done with significant care and attention to detail.
Description of Work: My house was a few years overdue for exterior paint - it needed a serious pressure washing and a significant amount of prep work done to get it ready to paint.

The trim was a high contrast trim, and John was meticulous in ensuring that it was done to the highest standards. I would recommend Lifestyle Painting and will definitely use them again.

+ -1 moreJohn and his team were prompt and very upfront with the work that was to be done. There were no hidden costs or attempt to drive the quote up in price. His team also gave me great options on what we could do with our house based on pictures of other jobs that he had done. He also was kind enough to leave me with all of the leftover supplies and even showed me how to repair the paint job if any bubbling occurred (one side of my house gets lots of sun, so he told me this is a possibility, but so far so good)! The work took about a week to complete, and I couldn't be happier with the result! I will be using John and Lifestyle Painting again for any painting needs I have in the future!
Description of Work: My house needed a much needed paint job (had not been done since we moved in over 5 years ago), and John and his crew came highly recommend on Angie's List. He was quick to respond with a very reasonable quote, and was able to provide an accurate time on when the work could be done.

+ -1 moreObviously, it went nowhere. There are thousands of painting companies out there. I will never hire this one. Since I own rental properties & know others that do and we give each other comments of different vendors who do work for us, I'll let them know about this experience. I'll put the average cost of two painters I've received bids from (I always get 3 bids).
Description of Work: I requested an estimate via online from them to paint a rental property. I received a call back in early evening and spoke with the owner. The conversation ended with him telling me he wasn't really interested in doing rental property. Hello. What difference would that make? The home is empty which is a bonus to painters (so I've always been told). It is also convenient to access. This is another example of a listing on Angies list that is highly questionable. I told him I would like the job done as soon as possible as I was going to get the wood floors refinished. I mentioned doing a deal (I know of someone else that wants their entire condo painted). That seemed to deter him; however, it wasn't something that was necessary. I was also planning on getting the exterior of the home painted (after the new roof went on in September) which I also told him. I guess this company is so busy they don't need any more work or they just don't like to paint rental properties. I have hired numerous painting companies over the years on my rental properties & have never heard of any who didn't paint rental properties. Really?

+ -1 moreThey did a marvelous job. We will definitely use them again! Crisp paint lines at corners and ceilings. No drips, runs, or splotches. Nice clean up afterwards. They returned later for some minor touch ups. We are very satisfied.
Description of Work: We needed to have 2/3 of the interior of our house painted after a remodel. Lifestyle Painting masked off the work area, then prepped and painted the ceilings, walls and trim, base boards, and hardwood stairs (spindles and skirts). For the woodwork they used oil base paint. For the walls and ceilings they used latex paint.

+ 0 moreI was at the property at the agreed-upon time. 30 minutes after John was supposed to be there, I called him to see where he was at. He stated that he meant to text me to let me know that he couldn't make it and that he was busy with other jobs and he wished me luck finding another painter implying he was no longer interested in the project. I was disappointed in his lack of professionalism, but did appreciate his candor.
Description of Work: I spoke with John about doing a quote on painting the exterior of my house. We agreed upon and time to meet at the property in South Seattle.

Description of Work: I met with John to get a bid for getting the interior painted of one unit of a duplex town home rental property. I work with a trust my father set up before he passed away a few years ago, and I am required to get 3 bids to satisfy the trust officers. John was right on time, walked through the unit with me, and told me he'd get a bid to me within a few days. The next day, I received a text from him, saying (and I quote:) "Hi *****, I'm going to pass on your job, it's not the kind of painting I do. Thank you so much, John." Really? I thought that interior painters painted interiors... We ended up texting back and forth for awhile, and his tone was condescending, bordering on rude. He inferred that I just wanted a lousy job done (and I quote again:) "there are crews that specialize in that kind of work", because the place needed some minor work done. I explained that it's a rental, not the Taj Majal! He wrote that he does detailed work, and that he was surprised that I "wanted to rush it". I would like to have it rented by the 1st of the month... What a concept! If it were my own home, yes, I would want detailed work, but this is a rental that the tenant, that had been there over 20 years, left very clean. There are lots of nail and screw holes, and a few areas that need to be repaired, like around a couple of the windows that used to leak. Not a big fix, or a time consuming one. So, all in all, if you are looking for someone to do specialty work, I would most likely go with John, but if you just want someone to come in and paint a rental unit (all white, I might add!!) I would look for another painting contractor.

+ -1 moreThe service provider was very polite but his communication was lacking. We had set a time for him to come and bid a estimate on our home. I switched by day around for his arrival in the morning. He was supposed to text before coming, i had not heard anything from him. I then reached out to him, through text, and he informed me, through text that it was not going to work out and I would need to go with someone else. I recommend if you are not in the Seattle area, I would go with a local provider.
Description of Work: The provider never came out for the estimate due to communication errors.

They thoroughly cleaned and primed the exterior, painted the upper story, garage doors and trim and stained the shingles on the first floor of the house, many sections of which had been badly weathered. They pay attention to detail and take well deserved pride in their work. I appreciated their flexibility in working around our schedule. John was very helpful in working with me on colors to match/coordinate with existing elements of the house and patiently tried out various samples until he got it just right. He also brought to my attention areas that needed repair by other trades and even offered recommendations. I highly recommend Lifestyle Painting and plan on using them in the future.

+ 2 moreJohn and crew showed up on the scheduled start date. Pressure washed my entire house and garage. They spent a better part of a week sanding, sealing, calking and priming all the seams, doors, patio fence and windows. They were able to do some wood replacement where bad wood was found on the patio fence. John applied 2 thick coats of paint that were done over 2 days due to the back rolling and brushing. My place looks better than when I moved in and the paint quality (Miller) is the best I have seen. It should last another 15 years now. I would definitely recommend Lifestyle Painting to anyone seeking a quality exterior paint job. This winter I plan to have John come back and install new crown molding and paint my master bedroom.

After speaking with John about what we wanted to do and when, he had a break in his schedule and got us in the next week. He and his team were both professional and pleasant, and I was thoroughly impressed at how well our floors and stairs were covered to protect from paint. Not too mention how quick and skilled the guys were......started Monday at 8am and finished and cleaned up by Tuesday at 1pm! John himself even came back out later that day when we noticed a small missed area. I will absolutely recommend their services, and be using Lifestyle Painting again when it is time to remodel our kitchen and bathrooms! Thanks again John, Guy, and Omar! Until next time!

The power washing (and calking) makes a difference, and I am sure this paint will look better and last longer. John is good with color consultation, too. Just the slightest change in my color made a big difference to the way the house looked. The crew were on time and professional. They did a good job of clean up.

+ 1 moreJohn responded within a few days to our request for a quote. He came out when he said he would be here, looked at the job and then provided an estimate within several days. After providing a quote he determined when he could start. Due to rain the job was delayed but John kept in touch and as soon as it was dry enough he arrived on time and completed the work within two days. They left the site neat and clean. Due to some rot on a lower level he provided the name of a handyman who could repair the area.
Description of Work: John and his employee sanded, primed and painted outside railings on a deck. They also replaced a rotted board.

There was extensive prep, the existing paint was gone in areas and some of the window trim needed to be replaced, exposed wood was treated with a sealant first then primed caulked and painted. The doors were spray painted they look very nice. No mess left. Cost was reasonable. Quality was top notch. Crew was polite and friendly.

+ -1 moreThe entire project went better than perfectly ? or as close to that as possible. John is skilled, meticulous, and exacting. I suspect he demands the same from Omar as Omar approaches the job in the same way. The house is a mid-century modern and is all vertical wood siding or glass with the occasional post and beam. We first realized we had hired the right people when we observed the prep. It was impeccable. John had originally intended to spray and back brush the siding but, when he got into the job, handpainted the entire house. It looks terrific and neighbors and guests have all commented: "really excellent," "beautiful work," "exceptional," "can't see any brush marks." Would we hire Lifestyle Painting again is the wrong question. We wouldn't hire anyone else. In addition to the quality of the painting and their general professionalism, both John and Omar were a pleasure to have around. Obviously, both my wife and I are delighted with the result and the overall experience and recommend Lifestyle Painting with no reservations whatsoever.

+ 1 moreJohn and his crew cleaned and painted our entire 3500 square foot two-story house. They also removed, painted and reinstalled the shutters and picket fence panels. Unfortunately, they discovered a bit of dry rot above the garage and some fence pieces that needed to be replaced. Since we wanted to take care of these repairs ourselves, John and crew were flexible in working around our schedules (as it couldn't be done right away) and were able to come back as necessary to complete all the tasks and ensure that the job was complete and to our satisfaction.

+ 1 moreJohn and his team was amazing right from the start. He took the time to walk around my home and explain the different products and techniques. He was also more than willing to answer any and all questions that I had which was ALOT. I was concerned about my plants and the condition of my yard both during and after the painting, and he assured me that they would take the time to both set up and clean up carefully to make sure that no plants were damaged and that everything would look great after the team left. My porch deck needed some extra care. Others that quoted on the job were hesitant to take the extra time to deal with it. John did all the deck work personally; cleaning, re-staining and even taking time to sand the boards himself. Price wise John was very competitive. I would not hesitate to use him again. John followed through on his promises and great attention was given to every detail of the job ~ from respectfully watching out for my plants during setup, to making my house look awesome, all the way down to the final clean up. Everything was meticulously completed. I have already (and will continue) to recommend him to friends and neighbors.
