Gas Appliance Service did an excellent job. They did what they said they were going to do at the quoted price. They were punctual and responsive. Everything was top notch.

We have had a service agreement with Gas Appliance Service for the past three years; until tonight, all we'd had them do was an annual cleaning and maintenance on our gas furnace (which they did well, and always with helpful, friendly technicians). First, the service agreement: we pay $150 a year which gets us the annual service. For committing to this agreement, you also get extra help and discounts when you need it. As we found tonight... We were due for our next annual inspection when the furnace failed (and of course this happened after hours). We called their emergency service and left a message. They responded about 40 minutes later, and at our request sent over a technician to look at the furnace. Glen was very friendly and isolated the problem in literally 60 seconds, fixed it in another ten minutes and we had heat back immediately. Because we have the service agreement, they not only didn't charge us the after-hours service cost (which would have been $138), but discounted the regular day rate of $90 to $78, and also gave us a 15% discount on the replacement part. All in all, we were very happy with this service. And Glen was so nice that we fed him dinner before he went off to his next call!

He was a young guy and he was very nice. He tried replacing something and then he told us there was nothing that he could do and that we needed a new furnace. He sent an older man who has seen old furnaces before. He spent a lot of time with me for no charge looking at the furnace. He tried to figure stuff and he did figure out what was wrong. He did not charge me. I finally got the part from a whole seller and replaced it myself. I would recommend them to other people. They were fabulous. They were a little bit pricey.

Overall, the project went very well. They showed up on time and were able to get to work quickly. We wanted an unusual (slimmer) heat pump which was expected to take several weeks to get on special order, but our rep at GAS was able to get the units sooner than we expected. They were very clean and professional.

They were very good, they did what they said they were going to do, there were no surprises that were good, whenever there was a problem the resolved it to our satisfaction.

I surveyed several different heating companies to replace my high efficiency furnace when the secondary heat exchanger failed. Gas Appliance Service had lower prices than other Carrier appliance companies. They were able to come out within 24 hours, give me a quote and install the furnace within another 24 hours. A 6 person crew came out and installed the furnace, cleaned up well and did a great job. I was also able to get rebates on the furnace from G.A.S., the furnace manufacturer (Bryant), and Puget Sound Energy making the purchase decision much easier. Great Job!

They really didn't seem to know what they were doing. They couldn't get the pressure to hold on the gage for testing. They blamed it on the gage twice and it failed inspection. Overall it took many more tries than it should have. They also provided an incorrect hose. The pipe should have been a 3 quarter inch hose to go with a 3 quarter inch pipe, but they actually provided a 1/2 inch hose. This also delayed in getting the job finished on time. They were willing to come out and fix it, but dealing with gas it should have been done right the first time. I lost my trust with them.

We originally contracted with GAS to install both a gas fireplace and a tankless heater for just under $6,400. About 3 weeks later, the installers arrived. They successfully installed the water heater. After chipping bricks from our fireplace, they discovered their unit didn't fit. Installer promised to notify sales rep. After waiting two weeks for a call-back, we located a company that carried a product that WOULD fit our fireplace. When we called our sales rep, he said he didn't know there was a problem. Maybe so. Still, no routine follow-up? No bill? He offered to lend us an electric space-heater! We agreed to pay for the water heater install only: $4,352. That's almost 70% of the original estimate for both units. Other estimates we'd received for just the water heater were around $3,000. Craftsmanship wasn't too hot. See pics. Turn off valve not mounted flush w/ wall. They removed a green brick from fireplace and stuck a loose red one in the hole. THEIR ELECTRICIAN=SUPERB!
