Description of Work: I knew from a previous job (fence) that I could count on Sam Hyde to do a great job, and he didn't let me down. The paving stones are beautiful, and I smile every time I look out at the front yard. As usual, Sam was professional, on time, helped me to create the best design for the space, did the preparation, carefully worked around plants I wanted to keep, completely cleaned up debris and materials and hauled them away. I highly recommend Dogwood Designs and Landscaping to anyone who wants a great job done on fencing, design, landscaping and paving.

Description of Work: Sam Hyde, Dogwood Designs, built a custom arbor for my wisteria vine. Sam was very reliable and either showed up when he said he would or he called to reschedule. He listened to my ideas and provided some great suggestions which worked well for the arbor design. I wanted an arbor that looked like it was customized for the front of my house, porch and with as little visual obstruction as possible, and that's what I got. Very pleased with the end result.

 + -1 moreSam was responsive to my email request and met with us in person. From the first meeting, I knew we were working with a perfectionist. Sam gave us a lot of choices of materials, but also gave us excellent suggestions of materials he knew would work well and look great. He started the work about a week later than we agreed to, but he communicated this to us in advance and was apologetic. Sam did a thorough, neat, and extremely professional job in removing the old retaining wall and putting in the new wall. It stretched 85 feet long and Sam did a wonderful job of figuring out the step-downs in the wall to match the drop in grade. The end result is square, level, functional, and looks wonderful. Sam cleaned up everything including hauling away the excavated dirt and stones.
Description of Work: Removed a rotting railroad-tie retaining wall and built a new concrete block wall on one side of our yard.

 + 1 moreSam Hyde is a pleasure to work with. He's a true craftsman with an artistic eye. Meticulous attention to detail, always offering ideas and suggestions. Fair and honest. A first-class hard worker! Sam throws himself into his work, busts his *explicit*, and does an outstanding job! For your rock work (no experience with his landscaping skills, but absolutely no reason to doubt they're excellent), you'd be doing yourself a GREAT disservice by not including Sam Hyde in your bid. Heck, if you're a "no-fuss, no-muss, git-er-dun" person like myself, just go with Sam. Don't need nobody else! This guy's great!
Description of Work: Sam's done several jobs for us -- 22' CMU wall/planter in the backyard; approx 125 sq ft flagstone patio; 2' x 15' dry-stack rock wall with rock cap (front yard); flagstone walkway in front yard. He removed sod, transplanted a Japanese maple and prepared planting beds. Brought in gravel for a path.

He was there exactly when he said he would be, he took his time and made everything look just exactly like you would want it to look. I can't say enough about how impressed I am.
Description of Work: Removed an existing railroad tie border and built a rock retaining wall around the front of my property, including some terracing and design.
