Chucks Auto Repair - Maple Leaf

Very good experience. The owner of the company was a client of mine. They weren't pushy. They didn't try to up sell.

They listen to my concerns, attempt to explain the diagnosis in a way I can understand and they don't have a problem repeating it to my husband.

The team at Chucks ran the computer - found a warranty item and alerted me of how to handle that without having to pay! They checked the vehicle over, and wanted to know some background on it too. In the end, they offered information and advice to keep the visit reasonable and to earn my trust.

I had to call back midday to get a quote. They locked the car and couldn't get back in, as I had left them a Valet key. I ended up leaving the car with them all day without getting anything done except the oil change. Waste of time. Won't be going back.

First, the good. The staff here is very friendly and has a way of making you feel like your car is going to be well taken care of while it is in their shop. Unfortunately, that is where the good news ends, at least for me... About a month ago I brought my car to Chuck's to have it looked over and have maintenance issues addressed. I had brought my car there once before and was pleased with both the service and price, which is why I returned. During the visit, they said I needed my spark plugs replaced along with new motor mounts, a transmission flush and radiator hoses. I asked what needed to be addressed immediately and I was told the spark plugs and transmission flush. I agreed for them to do the work. Within the first week of having my spark plugs replaced, my check engine light went on (which in 10 years, has never happened before). Naturally, I thought there was an issue with the new spark plugs because after performing diagnostics a multi-cylinder misfire code came up. Something that could have easily been caused by not installing or gapping the spark plugs correctly. I was told that it was likely due to hot weather (which sounded suspicious to me...I think it was roughly 75 degrees outside) and that if it happened again, to bring it in. Another week went by and the engine light lit up again. It was determined, once again, to be a multi-cylinder misfire. They 'looked my car over' and determined that the faulty parts were the ignition coils, not the spark plugs. What are the odds that my ignition coils go bad within the first week of them replacing my spark plugs? Especially since ignition coils can go bad because of spark plugs being installed improperly. One has to wonder. Over the phone, they admitted the ignition coils and/or wiring was likely disturbed when they replaced the spark plugs but would not pay for the labor or parts because they were old. Huh? They told me I would have to pay $350, plus $60 more for the diagnostic test in order for me to fix their mistake. Wait, there's more... I was being told I now needed to replace my brake master cylinder and wheel bearings for an additional $950. It was at that moment, when they failed to realize they made the mistake of not standing by their work, and proceeding to pile on more repairs, that I saw the writing on the wall. So, I went to pick up my car without them performing the repair work. When I did, they charged me double for the diagnostic test. Shocked, I asked why? Presumably sensing my disappointment, his answer was, "because we probably won't ever see your car again". Now I am unfortunately left with the aftermath and the financial burden of their mistake.

I recently used Chuck's for the first time. We took our Chrysler mini-van to Chuck's to diagnose and repair a couple of problems. I was very impressed how clear and specific they were about their diagnosis fee, how helpful they were in discussing the cost and implications of combined repairs, and how communicative they were throughout the process. The cost ended up being less than they had quoted initially. I felt confident in their expertise and was happy with their work.

Dropped in unexpectedly. Found leaking coolant on ground. Problem quickly diagnosed and did immediate repair. Great service. I was leaving on vacation the next day.

Everything was fine. They were professional and easy to contact.

They did an excellent job. The cost was very reasonable. I got to know Chuck over the years and I had taken old cars to him. I kind of like older cars usually, and he is very good and honest. He always takes me in when I needed something. If they told you that you would be out there at a certain time, they are ready.

My experience with them has been great. I would recommend them. What stands out is their communication.

We thought they were a little bit high. They were overall pretty good. They did it on time.

They did a great work. Everything was on time and everything worked. He gave me options of whether to fix everything or just the things I truly needed to and fixing only part of the problem. Everything was done at the price expected. Everything turned out good.

It went great. I would recommend them. They are a little spendy, but they did good work. This was the first time I used them. If I used them again in the future I would probably price shop them first.

They were really nice in saying it would cost a lot more to fix it than just to get another car, so that was a bonus. The price was cheaper than expected. They checked it out in one day. They could have taken me for more, but they did not.

They were two blocks away. They did it the next day.

They are the best. They actually didn't charge me. I trust them. They are honest and always cheerful. They are really great guys.

Their service was very good. They service my vehicles on a regular basis. They are in the neighborhood, are straight shooters and they don't inflate the prices. They are honest and if I don't need a service they will not charge me for it. They are pretty reputable.

It was pretty poor. They quoted us quite a lot to repair it. The car was unsafe to drive. We ended up replacing the sensor ourselves at a much lower price and we took it to another service shop to have everything checked over. There were no leak found at all. We were able to get everything fixed and everything checked out for $300 when they had quoted us $2,000 and we had just spent $3,00 with them. We had been customers of Chuck's for a few years with our vehicles. We didn't trust them anymore after that. It was just an estimate but it cost $300 for the estimate.

They were fine. The cost was reasonable for the work done and what I expected. They were clean, polite, timely and straightforward. They were basically clear on what they were going to do so there were no surprises.

All went well. They stand by their work.

Just took the car in for some work at Chuck's Auto Repair (second visit)... Really ticked off. They are currently running a special for an oil change, and I had a coupon for $20 off. I had scheduled a timing belt replacement and repair AND the oil change for today.... First they tried to tell me it would not be ready today, and might in fact need all day today and tomorrow for the job - after telling me on the phone that it was a 1-day job - not cool. Plus their notes were incomplete, necessitating me to carefully reread them and my husband to call again to explain the problems. Then, and this really steamed me, they refused to honor BOTH the oil change special and the coupon for the timing belt in the same visit "Just like any other business," he tells me. Since one is a special and the other a coupon, and neither say limit one per visit, no, this is not 'just like any other business.' Almost every store I patronize allows you to use more than one coupon per visit - especially if they are applied to different items!!! I teach business classes and cover customer retention...Yeah.... this is not the way to do it.

Brandon and Chris are great. They are very attentive and detail oriented. I would recommend them to anyone.

Chuck's Maple Leaf Auto service is our preferred location for auto repairs. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They always get our cars into service quickly and always have them completed on schedule. They are easy to work with, and explain the work they have done thoroughly. They are not always out for a buck, and are more interested in providing quality service. They once showed me that my air filter was dirty, showed me where it was, and how to change it out so I could save some money by changing it myself. They always do a great job and never disappoint.

The service was great. I can't tell you how impressed I was that they kept their word and took it through emissions for me even though that meant coming in on holiday weekend when they were closed. Much to my dismay a check engine light just came on in our other car. At least I know where I will be taking it!

Nice people, clean shop--I felt good there. They also cleaned the interior of the car which I wasn't expecting and it really needed it. I will use them from now on.
