It did not go well. Guy promised a 2 week turn around that ended up going 5 weeks over. The walls he built are crooked and the finish work on the sheet rock all had to be re-worked by another contractor. His original bid started at $9,000.00 and he was given 1/2 of it as a down payment. 1 week later he indicated he was running out of money and asked for an additional "draw" to get supplies (indicating he had some legal issues that he needed money for), he then asked for 2 additional "draws" to cover materials - indicating he had "financial issues". The plumbing took way longer than indicated and his work was messy and disorganized. The area he built out that was intended to house my washer and dryer ended up being too shallow for the dryer. This coupled with a bad installation of the bi-fold doors resulted in scratches all across the front of the door to the dryer. I personally ended up re-working the ducting and was forced to reconfigure the plumbing as well. The gas outlet was not attached to the wall and stuck out 2 feet requiring the washer and dryer to be separated by 3 feet to allow for the extra long gas line connector. The dryer also included a steam feature and there was no water source provided for this. He said "just get an old hose splitter valve and then you can hook up your silly steam". When he had trouble with the electrical work, he hired an electrician and indicated I would have to pay for that, adding $1,000.00 to the bill. The electrical work was inaccurate and I had to rewire for the bath vanity light that I had indicated was for that area. He said, "ceiling lights are cheap, I don't know why you need a vanity light over the mirror". There as also no outlet provided for the vanity sink, his comment "only girls need an outlet, looks like you should rent to some single guys, they won't care". I had quoted removal of the popcorn ceiling in the lower level family room. My grandson's bed was set up in the room to provide access to the other rooms for sheet rock work and he decided to test removal of the popcorn ceiling over the top of his bed - leaving the mess all over his bedding. He then hired some guys from home depot to come in to complete the removal because he didn't know how to do it. He had no idea how to do the Installation of the glass tile back splash and stone backing behind my stove, I had to review it on you tube and provide instructions for his son. The glass back splash has yet to be grouted. They also used Duct Tape on my newly painted living room walls to hold up plastic, resulting in significant damage that needs to be re-worked and sanded. The wall for the sink area installed in the lower level kitchen was VERY crooked, resulting in major modifications to the cabinet, bathroom door and wall area. When he installed the dishwasher he broke off the cabinet mounting brackets and had to jamb wood in beside it to keep it from tipping over. It still rubs the wall when you open it. He had to hire someone to install click lock flooring because his "knees were bad" and he "couldn't figure out how to install it." After they left I discovered that my very expensive drill, palm sander, detail sander, 4 wrecking bars and a multitude of hand tools were missing, when I asked he said they did not know where they went. I estimate I lost over $1,500.00 worth of tools and I believe they took them to make up for all the money they felt they lost due to going over on his time estimate. They showed up around 10am and left around 2:30pm every day (to beat traffic) but complained he was putting in 10 hour days due to his commute. They were messy, noisy, unskilled and very inconsiderate - everything in my house was covered in sheet rock dust because they turned on my forced air furnace fan to dissipate the dust. I had dust inside all of my drawers and cabinets in the upstairs where they weren't even working! I was forced to pay another contractor $6,000.00 to complete the sheet rock and baseboard preparation prior to painting, not to mention I had to complete the installation of all the light fixtures, outlet covers, and misc finish work. that was supposed to have been included in his bid. The delay also resulted in a loss of $2,395.00 for monthly rent on the unit!! I will NEVER use G.O. Plumbing again, and although he asked me to promise not to put in a bad review, I feel that due to the loss of all the tools I believe the public has a right to know how unscrupulous this contractor is.

Guy paced himself well. The first day, he laid out his plumbing runs and drilled through framing to match my specifications. Then he replaced the drain line - but accidentally dropped the old piece on a toilet lid, shattering it. Before he was finished, a brand-new, high quality toilet sat in my garage, awaiting installation. The next day, he brought an assistant, and they removed all of the old piping and had Pex installed by quitting time. We were without running water for a total of maybe 8 hours, which I found impressive, considering how circuitous our runs are. They patiently inspected every joint, and didn't call it quits until everything was dry. The plumbing was complete on Friday. Saturday, Guy returned to make sure everything was still dry and delivered the new toilet. (It was installed at a later point in my bathroom remodel, and it works very well.) Above all, Guy was prompt, courteous, and highly responsive to my wishes. He was on time every morning, and he and his assistant cleaned the house thoroughly when they were finished. I graded workmanship with a B, because, after the job was finished, I felt some of the bends could have been placed better or routed differently. (Then again, I'm in the building trades myself, and my expectations are probably different from most people's.) But I have to say he was fast, and he met a tight deadline with grace and good humor.
Description of Work: Guy pulled out 50 year old galvanized pipes and replaced them with Pex; replaced an iron drain pipe with ABS; installed bathroom hardware for a remodel; modified vent pipes to accommodate framing for remodel.
