MM Comfort Systems

I wouldn’t call them super good, I would say moderate. It was around $250. The reason I use them is because they installed heating system, so presumably they are familiar with the system. Although I can’t say that is actually 100% correct, because they don’t seem to send out the same people every time.

Everything went fine. They installed it and the delivery was on time. The only problem I'm having with them is the billing issue. Everything was great. The only problem I'm having that's still unresolved is the billing issue. I was billed twice for the same charge.

Salesman sold us a 90% efficiency furnace that required Venting and drainage which he never mentioned. It wouldn't work in our garage without a ton of expensive work and no where to drain. When they came to install it the installer told us. We had to reschedule and order a 80% furnace. It took us 2 months of hassle and phone calls to get our money back for the cheaper furnace. Had Salesman been up front to begin with it would have been a outstanding review and could have been totally avoided. The installation was great and we love the furnace.

Very well. MM coordinated our upgrade with Washington Natural Gas, as well as with Costco for the Costco rebate, which proved to be a pretty seamless experience overall.

The install was less than ideal with probably 5 return visits to get it working properly. I've been happy with their yearly maintenance of our gas furnace and heat pump.

They are excellent. They had to replace it, so it was a good experience.

They were pretty good, they worked great. The heat pump that we bought works great. They had to come out a couple of times and change a switch on our electrical panel. I'm very happy with it.

Our salesman, Marty, was on time, personable and downright awesome. Marty was the reason we went through with it. We financed the operation just to save my cash outlay. This process was a little weird but everything worked and the office said we'd hear in 2-5 days to schedule an appointment. After day 6, I contacted the office to schedule the installation. They called me right back and we scheduled a mutually convenient date. I was a little worried that they weren't going to show up because I never got a call confirming the appointment. The guys showed up, though, right on time. I showed them where everything was and let them get to work. They came at 8:00 am and finished up at 6:00 pm. I went to check a couple of times and things were torn apart and crap everywhere. When I went down for the final inspection, everything was neat, cleaned and tidy. They put pipe all along the ceiling, enclosed it in a nice case in the finished section, repiped the furnace drain, installed a switch and drainage pump. Everything looks great, it works great and I have finally been cool on those hot nights.

The entire team was incredibly nice and very professional. They were considerate of the fact that we were living through the work and were great about listening to what we want, while providing suggestions and ideas to make our system more efficient. I gave them a B overall because with all the great aspects, we did have a day where no one showed up and no one called us. One of the contractors was sick, which is understandable but I stayed home from work to meet them and no one call or showed. And then we did have to have them come back to finish out the scope of work that was missed during the first time they came out. All of that in mind, I would still use the company again. I think they would most likely be an A next time!

Did a fantastic job from reviewing job, estimate, to installation. Clean and neat They had to put an outside conduit in and hide it so you can't even see it. great job.

They failed to make the correct diagnosis after > $300 charge for trouble shooting. For a problem that they did identify and recommended to repair, their estimated cost was more than twice of what I eventually paid to another contractor. For diagnostics, they charge about $110 per half an hour, instead of a flat fee of $120 per trip with the new contractor that I hired.

Technician arrived on time and was very thorough. We did an Angie's List coupon offer so the price was fixed and included the cleaning of our electronic filter. The only hiccup was that after the tech left, the electronic filter stopped working even after it had a whole day to dry off from the cleaning. I called to have someone come back, but I went online to do some troubleshooting. Going through some step-by-step diagnostics (pulling one filter out and exchanging it, no filters in, etc.) I found the issue to be slightly bent steel strip in the filter that was shorting out the filter. Pulling it back into place fixed the issue so I called back and cancelled the appointment. This is the first time this has ever happened. That said, the blades are very easy to move and the tech couldn't see if the filter light was one because it was wet and needs to dry.

Very positive experience. I called about 15 vendors starting at about 3 pm on a Friday afternoon and didn't get to calling MM until 5:30. A couple were able to get me in Saturday, most not until next week, but MM had someone who was willing to stop by after his last job. He arrived at my house around 6:30. I thought it was a blown motor on the fan, but after about 30 minutes of diagnostics he nailed it down to the capacitor on the fan motor. We also got very lucky because he had a replacement in his truck. He was all wrapped up and I had my heat back on at around 7:45. Felipe was extremely friendly and was very good at explaining what he was doing. Would call them back, no question.

The home was vacant with a contractor's box so I didn't have to let them in. They cleaned and provided annual maintenance as expected.

Showed up on time, finished the job quickly and was on his way.

They are busy so it took like a might for them to turn up here. Their work was fine.

From the quoting process through installation everything went very well with MM Comfort Systems on our heat pump. We were very happy with the sales person who came out to give us the quote and with the team that came out to install the heat pump. They had to rebuild the duct work in the garage at the furnace to get the unit installed and the work was done well, the walk-through at the end was thorough, and everything has been working perfectly for the last 5 months. I would definitely use them again.

We came into contact with them through the Costco program. The person that came out for the consult was 30 minutes late then used nearly 2 hours of my time measuring windows etc. When I asked if we could speed things up, he was offended. After all this time I was given a quote for the same equipment as two other companies that spent only 20 minutes in my home. The worst part was that they were $2700 more than a quote from another highly reliable local company.

UPDATE #2: It was another hot weekend this weekend, and our heat pump broke. Again. This time, it looks like its the cooling coils. So, the basic pattern with this MM Comfort Systems heat pump is that when it is cool outside, it works. When it gets really hot, it breaks. MM very quickly responded to our service request, sending a tech the next day, but now it's the usual shuffle of trying to find the right parts, etc. etc. and we're about to go on vacation. I'll update when / if it gets fixed. I knocked the quality back down to a D. I have lived in many, many places with comfort systems, and I have never had this much trouble, especially right after installation. UPDATE #1: I try to be as objective as possible, so that Angie's List can be valuable, so I think it's important to provide an update. In my original post, I criticized the salesman's job of getting my sale and disappearing, but as you can read in the Response below, he moved out of the area, so I have bumped up my score in the area of Overall, Responsiveness and Professionalism. Also, the President of the company called, and even though my work schedule has made it difficult to return his call, I will, and I really, really appreciate his hand-on touch. I honestly don't require the presidents of companies to call me to feel like I receive good service, but to my point below, I use local companies for a reason, and it's this kind of conscientious, that MM Comfort Systems has admirably displayed here, that I sincerely appreciate. I'm still sticking my by Quality rating for now. A C is not a "bad" rating, it is a "Fair" rating, and given the fact that the installation was problematic and the AC broke, it's tough for me to move that one up. Thx. ORIGINAL: We met with the salesman (Lee) to discuss the AC purchase and he immediately tried to upsell us on the furnace and the water heater. Since the furnace was definitely old, and I understood that he had a job to do (sell stuff), I took him up on the furnace but said I would like to focus on the heat pump. He was cool with it and didn't try to upsell me again. We then went through the whole discussion process and he was very patient with a lot of our questions. We got pretty nitty gritty and I never got from him that he was impatient. We agreed on the price and set a date for installation. I thought the price was very reasonable for a mid-range heat pump, furnace and all the installation. When the day arrived, the technicians showed up early and were ready to work. They asked me a few questions, and it was at this time that I asked them to run the line around my tool peg boards and not down the middle. When I got home that night, they had run the line straight down the middle of my peg board. A couple weeks later, the AC stopped working. I immediately contacted two people: the service person and the salesman. The salesman never got back to me. The service person, who was super nice, said she would send over a technician ASAP, but that the peg board problem was an "installation issue" that she would have to get back to me on. The technician came a couple days later, which was great, because it was right before a heat wave. He was also super friendly and helpful, fixing the AC (it has now been working well for a few weeks). I never heard from the service person again about the peg board issue. Now, I try to always buy local instead of going with a large franchise chain. Part of the reason is because of what I will call "local patriotism" but part of it is also that I like to build business relationships and that is sometimes hard to get when a large franchise is running stuff from a far off city with high turn-over and rigid policies. That is why I was really irritated that the sales person never got back in touch with me. He won't be getting any more of my business. And it doesn't matter to me if the "Installation Dept" or the "Service Dept" handles the fact that they screwed up the installation. That sounds like a bureaucratic problem. As a customer, I just want to get the thing fixed. So, looking at M&M Comfort Systems on Angie's List, I thought we had struck gold. Instead, we got: 1) a botched installation, 2) a broken AC, 3) a salesman who took the money and ran, and 4) bureaucratic run-around. To me, this sounds like your typical Big Soulless Corporation type service, not a grade A local service. Is M&M Comfort Systems a bad company? Probably not. But they are definitely not that good either, based on my experience with them. They're like so many other companies out there: plain ole average.

They were excellent. I had them out two days before that for something else and I asked them what other services they provided, they said they also did plumbing. I had a leak in the hot water tank that day and he said let me look at it and I won't charge you. So, he looked at it and he said you probably should get this fixed sooner than later and he made a few calls, was able to locate a tank and it was a special tank and they were able to schedule it two days later. It was a very quick response and got everything lined up.
