They took a month to repair my pipe. They would show up one day and wouldn't show up again until a week later. I asked for an itemized billed and I had to ask three times for it. They charged me for things that they never did. My insurance sent me a check to pay them, but I told them I wasn't going to pay them until they made the adjustments on the bill. He demanded the money in hand and I was going to be unavailable because I had to pick my brother up from the airport and the guy showed up at the airport for his money. There was just something fishy about the whole situation. The workers were nice. Their slow responses just made the whole experience horrible. I will not ever use them again and wouldn't recommend them to others.

After our dishwasher stopped working in November of 2011, we contacted our homeowner's insurance company who recommended  Alliance Restoration for water mitigation (fixing).  We are family of four with two kids, ages 5 & 8.

On 11/21/2011, I received a phone call from Jeff Graves, estimator with Alliance Restoration.  Jeff was cordial on the phone and offered to come to our house immediately that morning to survey the damage.  I met with him that day and gave him the go ahead to start on our project.  By that afternoon, Jeff had sent out a technician, Ray Sprague who began the mitigation process in our kitchen.  Ray dropped off industrial drying equipment that day and set them up to begin pulling moisture from the floor.  The rest of that week, Ray tore out the lower kitchen cabinets, the kitchen floor, and part of the damaged walls.

That first week, we were very impressed with Alliance's hard work ethic.  Ray was there that first Monday, and every day for the next 6 days that week (except for Thanksgiving day).  During that week, Ray found mold which complicated things, but he continued to display professionalism.  As part of the mold clean up, Ray added a HEPA filter to the work going on, and sealed off the areas with mold present to prevent the spores spreading throughout our house.  Ray also recommended and we sought a third party air test to ensure mold had been taken care of.  During this first week, we had not heard from Jeff again but were not concerned.

Monday, 11/28/2011, Jeff called and stated he would have the cabinet guy out the following day to work up a quote for new cabinets.
Tuesday, 11/29/2011- no word from Jeff
Wed, 11/30/2011 - I called Jeff, left message - no word from Jeff
Thurs, 12/01/2011 - I called Jeff, left message - no word from Jeff
Friday, 12/02/2011 - Ray came by with a third party air quality testing company - who provided results the following week that we had passed.

Monday, 12/05/2011 - Jeff called, apologized and blamed delay on cabinet maker, said he would call back later that day to schedule cabinet maker for next day.  No further word from Jeff that day - this would be last time I ever spoke with Jeff.
Tuesday, 12/06/2011 - no word from Jeff
Wednesday, 12/07/2011 - no word from Jeff, Ray comes in to "fix" insulation under house, picks up equipment, and seals floor with paint.  Wife explains our frustration to Ray regarding Jeff - per Ray, Jeff told Ray that Jeff would call us later that afternoon.  Per Ray, Jeff would be bringing cabinet guy on Thursday.  No word from Jeff
Thursday, 12/08/2011 - No word from Jeff
Friday, 12/09/2011 - Mike Sedia (or Fedia?), supervisor (Jeff's boss) with Alliance calls.  I explained our frustration with the lack of communication from Jeff.  Mike stated that he would be handling our project from now on.  Mike scheduled cabinet maker to come out Tuesday, 12/13/2011.

Tuesday, 12/13/2011 - Mike comes with cabinet & floor guy.  Mike mentions that Jeff will be finishing quote after we have specifically requested not to have him on job any more and Mike has stated that he would be handling it from here on out.

Wednesday, 12/14/2011 - Insurance company calls and states that Jeff with Alliance has notified her that quote would be uploaded to her by Thursday, 12/15/2011.  I told them this was news to me as we had not heard from Alliance (big surprise)

Monday, 12/19/2011 - I called Mike with Alliance to check on quote.  Mike said Jeff would call me back, that quote was in process.

Thursday, 12/22/2011 - Quote uploaded to insurance company - found out when insurance company called me.

Friday, 12/23/2011 - we received copy of mitigation (water repair) & remediation (mold repair) bills as well as repair / reconstruct bill.  Immediately I noticed numerous multiple items that Alliance has claimed they have fixed but were not.  They claimed removal and disposal of flooring in two different rooms - both of which still had original floor.  They claimed they had moved furniture in several rooms - while they had moved furniture from one room - the overall charge was inaccurate.

This launched us into process between insurance company and Alliance Restoration disputing what had and had not been done.

In February, I hired a new contractor who quoted $6,333 for the remaining work needing to be completed that Alliance had said they finished but did not.  Sometime that week we learn that Jeff Graves was no longer employed with Alliance Restoration and that he had a family emergency that affected our job.

Update, March 2012 - after an unrelated plumbing repair - our new contractor finds that Alliance used wall insulation in floor and also left at least four large garbage bags of wet insulation in our house.  They were left underneath the kitchen.  Whether this was accidental or intentional, it is unacceptable.  See uploaded pics...  Further, the crawl space insulation they installed using staples and left large gaps between the bats of insulation - rendering the insulation useless for its intended purpose

After a absolute horror story with previous contractor ( whom we fired) Alliance was a greatchnge. Very easy to deal with, excelent ork, estimates are very easy to understand, great work, quick service and quality work. Too bad they only do restoration, would be great for any construction project. Every person we dealt with delivered excellent and competent service.

It is a difficult project and they are doing a great job with it. They were recommended to me by my insurance company. I find them to be very punctual and provide me with superior quality work. I think their prices are fair and I'd definitely use them again.
