The service man, Jason, was prompt, courteous, professional and thorough. Cleaned and tested all parts of the Furnace and A/C unit. Received an emailed receipt describing services within minutes of work completion. Definitely recommend this service to others. No hard sell of additional services, made appropriate suggestions for future maintenance.

Scheduling was a breeze considering how busy the summer season is for HVAC companies. They sent Josh out the first time, the service tech to troubleshoot our furnace. I braced myself for the financial beating I was about to receive. He initially replaced the capacitor (a $120 piece he provided to us for free) which did nothing. Josh spent 2-3 hours with the furnace and came to say that he thought the motor on the blower had burned out and should be replaced. Cost of the motor? $560! I paid josh $141.13 that day for his service call. I said, well if ya think it's the motor then I guess we should replace it! Josh said that I could wait to pay for the motor when they got it in and installed it just in case it didn't actually fix the issue. Josh returned again a week later, cleaned out the interior thoroughly (blower, coils, everything) and installed the new motor. When he went to start it- NOTHING. Not a twitch! He sadly looked at me and said "Well if it's not the motor, it's got to be the circuit board!". I think I died inside a little bit. So now, I was thinking we would be on the hook for a $560 motor and a circuit board that would also be another $500. Josh said he would remove the motor and put in the old one (so I wouldn't be charged for it) and asked me what we wanted to do. I told him I don't want to keep dumping money into a failing and aging furnace, that it just needed replacing. So then they sent out a comfort specialist "Tony" to give us a bid on replacing the gas furnace with a 95% Efficient York Gas furnace- bid was $13,479.45! We also got a bid for two large ductless heads to be placed on our house with the furnace blower repair (to circulate the air from the ducts) which would be $9,026.53! I guess the primary reasons why I gave Black Hills a B is mainly because of how I felt like the comfort specialist was pressuring us to give him an answer after he gave us the bids- we needed time to think about what we wanted to do and how this would affect us financially. When he provided the bids, he gave us only the price and not a breakdown of exactly what we are paying for! If we are paying thousands, I think we have a right to know. Their only saving grace truly, was JOSH! He was so professional, caring, genuine, and honest. Whenever I had a question, he always gave me a great explanation and advice. Do yourself a favor Blackhills, and give Josh a pay raise or a free trip to take his family on because he is the experience every customer should have.He made me feel like royalty! We received bids from two other companies that came in for less (Ranger Heating and Floyd's HVAC), and we are going with Ranger Heating because of their price, prompt reply to our needs, customer experience, warranty/service plan.

It worked out fine. I'm very pleased with them. They're easy to work with. If I had to change time, they're very flexible. They are very timely in their service. If they say they're going to be there between 8 and 9, they usually are. I don't have any problem with them at all. I trust them. They seem to do a good work. They take good care of us. They're reasonable.

They do excellent work and they are thorough on installation. They actually send a representative out to figure out exactly what will work best for your home versus just trying to sell you something. They have a great warranty. They have a fifteen year warranty.

They called quickly and had quick appointment times. Super friendly every time I called. I called even before I purchased the coupon to ask a couple questions and the great attitude was the same. The tech that came out was very friendly and professional. He came within the quoted time frame and they called when he was 15 minutes out. The tech did the job very well. I would use them again and recommend them.

David G. the sales guy was like a brother from a different mother. He was very professional and personable and spent over two hours at the house talking about options and negotiating over the price of the system. On Christmas Eve, two technicians came over to install. After working through some minor hiccups, they got under way and installed the system. They didn't seem bothered when I hung around asking some questions but I tried to leave them alone most of the time. It was interesting learning about the system as they were installing it. They were here from 9AM to 5:30PM, a full day. In the end, the system was installed very nicely. We have warmth in the home now with remote controller.

This was a great experience. He was on time. He wrote out what he did and what he encountered.

Good, a little upselling which we kind of expected given that we got a deal. Was easier when they realized our furnace wasn't quite as old as they originally thought. Professional and curteous. On time and went as expected.

It went good. It didn’t cost more than the Big Deal. They were good. He was friendly, on time and quick.

They were awesome. The Big Deal cost of $111 covered everything. I just think that they were always professional and very friendly. They did everything we needed them to do.

Our experience with them was pretty good. They did a good job. There were a couple of little things that we were not real crazy about, but overall, it was pretty good.

They were wonderful. I couldn't have asked for better people. They were superb. They were friendly, just decent guys that I would have enjoyed having back in my house again. I know that they were the best deal down here in Olympia, I did have someone else from Angie's List come and their prices were just shocking and I just was not happy about that at all. They financed the mini-split through their account with a credit union interest free for a year and they did the same thing for the furnace which was about the same cost so I was able to pay those off without having anything on my credit report as a loan or debt. It's very easy to pay those off very quickly and it was marvelous. They didn't try to upsell me which is what the other bloke did who came down from Seattle. When I talked to Blackhills, they just said, your furnace will probably last for a couple of more years, why don't we do the mini-split first and see how it goes and let's save you some money. They were trying to provide service but they also kept things very, very low. As it happens, my furnace just died a lot sooner than we thought it would. I would absolutely use them again and I recommended to all of my friends specially the mini-split system, it's like a little heat pump and it kept the house air conditioned all through the eve of Summer and keeps the house at about 65-68 during the coldest weather. Then I just check on the gas furnace a little bit on the morning for a little boost and my gas went down for about $38 a month for both gas and electricity. It was a tremendous experience and as a single woman, I really appreciate people who do not try to hard sell me and treat me like an idiot. The electrician explained everything he was doing. They were the best, I couldn't be more pleased.

The service was good. It was a $111 Big Deal purchase and they stayed within that range. I recommend them highly. They are a good company.

It went fine. I bought a heat pump, I wish they looked into my house and said maybe I didn't need this. I hope it will last longer. I am still learning how to use it but I have seen a slight drop in the cost of running it.

They were not authorized to work in the system, so I had to find somebody else. I had a 10 year service contract from the manufacturer, so these guys somehow they were not authorized. They were pretty good. I would want to say that if you have a service contract with your manufacturer, they have to have a authorization to work in the system. So, check that first.

It turned out very well. Their price is very reasonable. I can say that they do good work, they are honest, straightforward and thorough. I recently had so many contractors who had to do a lot of repair work. One was for the drywall and Blackhills made sure that all the vents and filters were cleaned. There were a lot of work being done in my house and much to my surprise there was a filter in my furnace that was not cleaned and which could have ruined my furnace but he picked up on it, pulled everything out and cleaned it very well. He made sure there was no residual drywall dust or anything inside. He caught one little item that looks broken and he got taken care of.

It went fine. They're very professional. They're on time. They do quality service. They provide different options, I can sign up for maintenance packages and things for the next coming year. They're good about scheduling and calling in advance to schedule when they know my routine maintenance is coming up a couple of times a year. They have good followup.

It was really good. They did a great job. They were on time. We’re on a maintenance agreement with them. We pay on a yearly basis. They listen to what the issue is. They’re very good with the customer. Once they have all the information from that, then they go in, come back, and tell what they found compared to what you were saying and what the issues were. They made sure they talked to my wife and get all the information then go from there. We looked around and they actually installed our furnace. They had the best price for that and the maintenance agreement was agreeable to it. We’re continuing to use them.

I was very specific in what I wanted. They did the work, but they were so insistent that more work be done. I was trying to tell them at that time, "Look, just please do what I ask you to do." It was one of the coupon things. "Just please do that and I will talk to Rick when he gets home. I'm aware of what you say there is a problem or a situation. Leave it at that." But they were so insistent on it. They came back to me and said, "Look, I'll call your husband and let me talk to him." I would not recommend them, just because they would not drop it. I talked to the owner of that company. I said, "Look, I appreciate that they came and did the work. I appreciate saying, 'Well, you really need to get this cleaned because if you don't this will happen.' I understand that. Thank you. I will take care of it." And that should have been the end of it. But he kept insisting and kept insisting. He would not drop it, absolutely not drop it. It just got to where I was helping them pack their van, just to get the hell out of my house. "Just go." So no, I wouldn't use them. I wouldn't use them again. But they cleaned what they were supposed to clean. But it was almost, I thought like a bait-and-switch. I would not use them, just for that reason. They did the work fine, but I would absolutely not use them again because of the service. They were responsive in coming out when they said they would, but they were insistent. I mean, overbearingly insistent on doing more. They wanted to do more and charge me more and insisted on doing more. They did not take my word that it was like, "Okay, enough. I heard you. It's not your problem. Thank you for telling me." And they just wouldn't stop.

It worked out fine. The service was competent and the communication was good. I was pleased. I was satisfied with the work they did. It was $180, perhaps. The price was competitive.

They do good work. It's $199 for each home and that includes a discount if there are any repairs required. Their technicians are really clear. They answer all your questions and educate you on why they're doing what they're doing. Anyway, just in general, they seem to be thorough and willing to help you understand what they're doing. They're top of the line. The cost is okay, because there is a feeling of confidence, because once you're listed with them if you have a problem, they put you at the top of the list for a house call. It's really important. I don't know if anybody can do it for any less. Because I live way out of town, I really appreciate it. Their quality is immaculate.
