These guys (Rick Bugh and Dave Saffold) are a two-man shop and they only do work for Construction Builders (in my case Kohary Construction), so you will not find them in the phone book or on the web. They provide various services to new townhome buyers. 1) they offered to crimp the cat5 cables (which were already in the walls) to the network jacks for $100, otherwise the cables can't be used. I paid Ricky and he came out and crimped everything on a weekend. I then tried to connect various devices to all the rooms and noticed several jacks were not working. I called Ricky and He and Dave came out the next weekend. This time they had a tester and were able to confirm several jacks were not working. At this point, i got the feeling that these guys don't put a lot of effort into quality control. So i followed ricky around and tested each jack he said he "fixed", and of course the jack in the kitchen still didn't work even after Ricky told me (and Dave) it was fixed, so he had to go back and fix that one again. I was not pleased by their lack of quality, but i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and bought into the alarm system (which would require other visits). 2) they came back out activated the alarm system, installed a battery backup, connected it to my telephone line. As you can guess, after they left i had to call multiple times to get my account information for the Alarm-Monitoring company they were using, so i could access my information online and ensure the link was still active. Again, not happy but figured this was the last time i would need to deal with them. Here's where it gets flakey - They coerced me into signing a 3-year contract. Although i was not comfortable signing a contract, they insisted that if i ever need to move or cancel it would not be a problem - they wouldn't hold me to the contract. I figured we would at least live here 3 years so i went ahead and signed it. Fast forward 2 years later, and we're moving. I called Ricky in July and let him know that we will move and to not charge me after July - he assured me that July would be the last withdrawal from my checking account. No surprise, I was charged in August. This time, Ricky never answered his phone, even after numerous voicemails to call me back. I had to call my bank and get them involved to stop payment and all future payments. What a hassle. BONUS: Shortly after they activated my alarm system, they coerced my neighbor (who i share a wall with) into buying a high-end sound system and put speakers in the wall that we share! They assured my neighbor that I wouldn't hear a thing. As you can imagine, it sounded like the speakers were in my unit!! So after talking with my neighbor, we got the builder involved (Kohary Construction) and they forced Ricky and Dave to remove the speakers and fix the wall at no cost to my neighbor. Again, it just shows these guys are shady and will lie to get something sold.
