 + -1 moreAn Angie's List deal from Washington Energy Services was not what it claimed to be. I was not able to have my fireplace serviced for the quoted price. I would recommend that WES be more straightforward about what is, and what isn't, covered in their deals. Didn't really know how to rate this as I didn't have any work done, but I was not pleased that I couldn't use the service I had bought. So I give them an A for promptness in contacting me and setting up an appt, but they failed the service part. So I took an average for their grade.
Description of Work: I signed up for a Angie's List deal from Washington Energy Services (WES). The deal said, "$119 for Gas Fireplace Insert Efficiency, Safety Tune-up, and Service." I paid for the deal and was contacted shortly thereafter by WES. I was able to get an appt and was sent a confirmation email. I was very pleased with their promptness. Upon reading the email, I found that I needed to let them know if the fireplace wasn't currently working. I contacted them and was told that the deal I had purchased did not cover non-working fireplaces. Nowhere in the deal did I see anything about the fireplace having to be working for the deal to be valid. In fact, because the word "Service" was used in the title of the deal, I assumed my fireplace would be serviced - not just be getting a Tune-up (which was also mentioned as part of the deal.) I was told that it would cost quite a bit more to get the work done that needed to be done (though they don't really know what work needs to be done because they haven't inspected the fireplace yet) and that the deal I had purchased could not be used. I was able to get a refund from Angie's List - for which I am very thankful - but have had to go elsewhere to get my fireplace serviced.

They call when they are on their way and arrive on time. They perform their work as expected and look for things that can be repaired as preventative maintenance.

They've been really good. They're really helpful. If you have any questions or any problems they take the time to explain things.

 + -1 moreWashington Energy Services did a great job and were very professional but they used an electrical subcontractor that we would not recommend. In addition to the hassles created by the electrician it also added an additional cost to us that was quite substantial. Washington Energy did reimburse us for a portion of the extra cost but it still cost us more than we had anticipated.

They showed me how to operate the new windows which included how to tip in for cleaning, how to remove the screens for cleaning, and provided me with warranty information.

 + 1 moreHe did a wonderful job. Completely took apart the fireplace and cleaned each piece including the fake logs. The took the glass completely out of the frame and cleaned in also. He kept the area spotless and now the fireplace looks like new.

 + -1 moreTheir installer arrived on time and did an excellent installation job. The work performed was extremely profesional and completed in one day as promised. After completion, the contractor cleaned everything up and check all equipment to make certain it was working properly. He then showed me how to utilize remotes and explained the operation of the equipment. Warranties were explained and I was advised that Washington Energy would be back after one year to check all equipment at no cost to the owner.
Description of Work: Installed a ductless Air Conditioning System utilizing Bryant equipment.

 + 0 moreThey were easy to schedule the appointment. They came 6 hours late from the scheduled appointment. The guy doing the service spends 45 minutes cleaning and then can't start the fireplace/pilot light. He tells me then he isn't licensed to make any repairs he can only clean the fireplace. The scheduler calls me the next day says you purchased a maintenance service not a service service, like I should have know there was a difference. To send a service man to make the repair was $99 just to come out and assess the situation, then they would tell me the cost of the service repair. The first guy wasn't trained to do that although when he was here he said it is one of two things that is wrong. he also said this service is the service they get the most complaints about because of the consumer not knowing what they bought.
Description of Work: I needed a gas fireplace service to start the pilot light and what ever else they do in a maintenance call.

Washington Energy Services came out and provided an estimate and did a great job with installation. I am definitely going to use them to replace the rest of my windows as well as replace my fireplace.

 + -1 moreThis was easy from my first phone call to set the initial appointment. The quote was the lowest of the three I got due to a promotion, making the decision easy. The only issue was the email confirming the installation was off by a week, so I had to be available the following week (not a problem as I'm retired, but this could be an issue for others). The installation went smoothly and I was shown the new thermostat and how to operate it. The initial run showed it to work much better than the old unit, so I'm gonna be happy this winter as my wife will be more comfortable.
