We had tile installed in the bathrooms; that went well. So well, I wrote an excellent review on Angie's list. We proceeded with the purchase of $10,000.00 of hardwood laminate. It was to be installed in 2 weeks. We had a deadline because our temporary apartment lease was up. Laura, our sales person, assured us everything was in stock and the installers were available. Laura promised to attend the installation. The installation did not happen on schedule. When it did, 2 men arrived who were incompetent. There was no supervision. They disappeared for 3 hours that day. They did not measure properly; consequently the laminate was cut too short. In laying it down, the boards were short 2 inches on each end. Yes, - cut improperly, we had 2 inches between the floor and the wall. To hide this, the men installed the old baseboard. But they couldn't. There remained a 1 inch gap between the baseboard and the flooring. Further, none of the transition pieces were installed. Thus we had 1 to 2 inch open gaps between the laminate surrounding our fireplace, sliding doors to the deck, and both bathrooms. Grant Lane, the owner, came to view the situation. They returned with larger baseboard and installed that. None of the cuts were accurate; the baseboards weren't installed evenly or not at all. Baseboard cuts to allow the closet doors to close were not made. Consequently, we can't close our sliding closet doors in the master bathroom and 2 other bedrooms. Today was the day Grant promised his team would be here between 8:30 and 9:30. At 9:45 no one was here, so we called Grant. He said he was on his way and his team would be there with the materials. The same baseboard installer who did such a horrific job the first time, showed up alone. We asked where the team and the transition laminate pieces were. He said he knew nothing about it. All he did was baseboard. Another call to Grant and he said he was (again) rounding up the team and would personally be at our home within the hour. Grant has not called back; he has not shown up. No one has shown up. On top of this unprofessional behavior and incompetent/sloppy semi-installation - we paid an extra month's apartment rent so they could work unencumbered by furniture and boxes. (We had just relocated to Mill Creek, WA and living in a month-to-month apartment.) Promises, promises. Stories after stories. The transition laminate was in the warehouse and available; 30 minutes later, it was in the wrong warehouse and unavailable. We had confirmed this with Grant personally 3 times. They rescheduled. No show. August 7th to Dec 30th. No time to finish the work properly. The sales person, Laura, actually told me she had a bigger job in the area and wouldn't be working with us anymore. She had to concentrate on this new, huge home. And we were foolish enough to pay up front. We have been beyond patient and now are taking action. Our credit card company is standing behind us for the entire $10K. BTW, the materials are very poor quality. Finally, they sent an employee to take away the rubbish from the old floor. The worker started dumping the waste in the dumpster, which is against the rules where we live. Laura, our sales person, had promised it would be taken away to their dumpster and cleaned up (it wasn't) the day of the job. She also promised to supervise the work. We had to call her and tell her the state of the work and that huge mounds of debris were on our deck. She sent one man to clean up. When we told the worker that he couldn't dump the materials, he had to take them to the Summit dumpster - he screamed obscenities and drove off. We ended up loading the materials into our truck and took them to Summit. No one contacted us regarding this incident. There is a lot more to the story but I think I've outlined enough to let you make your decision.
Description of Work: This saga started on 10/7 when we paid in advance for new laminate in most of our home. As of today, Monday, Dec 30, 2013 the work remains incomplete and our home in shambles. Despite repeated appointments and agreements to send qualified contractors - today they stood us up again. Grant Lane, the president, makes commitments he can't keep. We have unfinished laminate floor installation; the laminate was cut too short, so the previous baseboard couldn't be reused. They came back with a higher baseboard which they partially installed. The wood flooring thresholds are not installed. The workers have done damage to the home.

I think Summit is a great business. They really came through on a tile purchase. No one could touch their price, they beat everyone...I mean everyone, by 20%. ||They are a small company and geared towards builders I believe. Customer service is spotty. But, when it came to pricing on a specific tile I wanted, they really came through.

I was very impressed with Summit Interiors and will be using them again as well as recommending them to friends and family. I had heard about Summit through a friend and decided to talk with them about doing some renovations on my home. When I called in, the receptionist (I think her name is Kayla) answered the phone. Right from the start, she set such a positive tone that would continue through my entire experience with Summit. She was very friendly and helpful and got me in touch with Grant who I worked with during the whole project. Grant came to the house to take some measurements and had some great ideas (where to put carpet vs. vinyl, colors, etc...). Later, he helped me pick out all the materials that we would be using for the project. He was an all-star with working with my budget and I only have the best things to say about him! Since we were remodeling most of the house, our schedule was a little crazy but Grant was able to work with it and scheduled a time for some workers to come out and install the carpet and vinyl. The vinyl took one day and the carpet took another. I was impressed by the workers that Summit used. They were very professional and cleaned up afterwards as well as putting everything back in its place. I was also planning on Summit refinishing our hardwood entryway but when they came out, they discovered that there was too much moisture and it needed to be ripped up (the past owners had dogs who apparently used the house as their toilet). I was so concerned that this would ruin my budget but Grant found some clearance hardwood that was the color I wanted! I was so grateful for this! Installation of the hardwood took about a half a day. Summit also came out to install our kitchen backsplash. Grant helped me design it and I couldn't have been happier with the way it turned out. There was a small imperfection that was bothering me so Grant immediately sent out his worker to make it perfect. I could not be happier with Summit Interiors! They have and quot;Nordstrom Serviceand quot; and definitely go above and beyond to make the customer happy. They are incredibly fair priced and can work with any budget. If you are doing any sort of renovation on your home, be sure to talk with them! It is the best decision you can make!
Description of Work: After purchasing a home, every square inch of flooring needed to be replaced because the previous owners left it in such bad condition. We also decided to use Summit to design and install a backsplash in our kitchen.

I started my project by visiting their showroom. I met with a designer who helped me pick out all the colors and products that would look best while staying in my budget. I loved what they helped me pick out. They came to my condo to do measurements and then sent me a detailed estimate. The installers that came to my home were excellent and very professional, that answered all my questions through the whole process. Everyone I met connected with Summit were very helpful, friendly, and professional. All the work was completed in the time I had been told and I was thrilled with the finished product. I loved that my condo looked so updated without going outside my budget. I also appreciated that whenever I had a question, they got back to me quickly.
Description of Work: Summit Interiors did the painting, flooring, and counter tops in my condo. I visited the showroom and they came out to measure and gave me a quote for the project. They had a lot of suggestions to keep me in my budget and helped me decide what colors and designs were best to update my condo.
