I called in the morning and they were able to come out that afternoon. Bruce was there early after calling to ensure that that was ok with me. He fixed the problem and discussed options for my fireplace after I asked for ideas. He explained how to reposition the logs for higher efficiency and gave me other much appreciated ideas. I have used DAY and NITE for years for my furnace maintenance and have always been pleased with their work. I will continue to use them and I highly recommend them.

Showed up earlier than scheduled for the appointment which was alright by me. Employee was professional in our interaction. They came to give a quote for a PRV replacement. Their quote was very high. I decided to call around to other providers and I am glad that I did because some others came in significantly lower. In the end we did not choose Day and Nite plumbing because of the cost so I cannot rate their quality of work.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it worked out very well. They did some additional work on our electric furnace so there was an extra charge above the deal price. We were happy with the results.
Description of Work: I used Day & Nite Plumbing & Heating to inspect and service our 1968 electric furnace. They replaced some coils and did some electrical work on furnace wires that were bad. They reconfigured the wiring to make it safer and more accessible.

I scheduled this work pretty much the same day that I discovered the leak. They estimated a price of $2,000 or so to replace, and an arrival time of 2pm. I had to take a sudden half day of PTO in order to be at home to arrange for the repair. By the time I reached home, I had a calling saying the heater was not in stock; a different heater would be available. OK. They were not able to show up until 4:30pm. The labor to install the heater was nearly $600. I think they did professional work, but the cost just seems high to me, and the delay wasn't so good. I also had them look at some fixture issues and got some solid advice, but their cost to repair a Grohe faucet was $600+. It just seems like the prices are too high relative to value.

sure enough the tuneup technician identified that an essential part on our 20yr furnace had broken. He couldn't estimate the repairs (though he was willing to call to have someone else from the company do so ASAP) but gave an honest opinion that it was probably time to replace it due to age. They went above & beyond to have someone come out for a free estimate the same day, provided a range of options within the specifications we were after (high efficiency but not top of the line expensive) with no pressure. Our new 95% efficient furnace was installed within a week for less than an estimate we received from a high-pressure company we previous bought a big deal tuneup from. There was a slight wiring issue with the install, and they came out again within an hour that evening to fix it and all has been running well ever since. We are very satisfied customers and look forward to continuing to work with this great company in the future!

As proof that I am very happy with Day & Nite, this was a 2nd service call for us - this one for our primary residence. They had already performed the same service for our old home. The old home also had two furnaces, one in a crawl space that I have never bothered going into - I am claustrophobic! Tyler, the technician, cheerfully crawled in and worked for over 45 minutes each on the two furnaces and gave me a complete report after he was done. On our primary residence, he was equally thorough and did an admirable job. After he left, I noticed a clicking sound and I called Day & Nite to remove whatever it was that Tyler had left in the furnace filter. Bruce, the general manager worked patiently with me to schedule a follow up call. It turns out that the clicking sound made the electronic filter was normal and would happen only if I tap it (it had become silent by then). The technician gave me more tips on maintaining my furnace. It was a very painless experience working with Day & Nite and compared to a few other places mentioned in Angie's List; they were far better than anyone. They are my heating company of choice. Send me an e-mail if you have any questions or doubts about Day & Nite.

One of my gas furnaces won't start and I bought the big deal (furnace tune-up) hoping that the technician would help me fix it. The appointment was made easy and quick, and the technician showed on time. He quickly figured out the problem (battery issues with my control). He got that taken care of and ran a full check of the system to make sure there was no other issues. I am very pleased with the job and would definitely use them again.

Their dispatcher and serviceman were good about phoning me to verify the appointment and to keep me apprised as to arrival time. I was happy with Todd, their serviceman, who was very good about answering my questions and explaining things to me. He let me peer over his shoulder as he took the back off the cooling tower. I appreciated his assessment and recommendation about the equipment. I was so satisfied with Todd's work that I decided to also hire Day & Nite to work on a plumbing job I had and Todd was able to schedule it for me on his phone right then and there.

I received a call from my tenant the furnace wasn't working and they weren't able to keep the heat on. It was 37 degrees outside so it was important to get someone out there quickly to repair the unit. I called Day & Nite and spoke to Hugh. He was extremely helpful and very professional. He called back when he said he would and provided a two hour range for the service call. Todd the HVAC tech was at my rental within 40 minutes (on a Saturday night!). He fixed the problem quickly and was on his way. One of the only HVAC companies that was available on Saturday and willing to come out the same day. These guys are great!

Found pullout kitchen faucet hose loose under sink where hose attached to faucet. Tightened up fittings and checked for leaks, took less than ten minutes.
Description of Work: Nothing that I,a woman, couldn't do and should have. All he did was tighten a loose fitting to the tune of $200.00 including trip charge (within blocks of his previous job) and tax. Thought it was a little steep. I've dealt with these several twice. last summer when the AC was not working, showed up after told us they would charge us 90$ for showing up but extra $60 because it was after hours and we had called in last minute. sold me the maintenance plan $540 later, Tony told me he needed to order a circuit board. called me the next day and said i had to prepay the $360 + labor. . after I paid, i did not hear back. after 3 weeks I had to call them,, and they had forgotten us. they came in the next day and fixed the problem. three months later the heat pump stopped working, thinking it was the thermostat i bought a new thermostat and called them. this time , we called three days in advance to have the thermostat replaced. they gave us arrival time between 4-6pm. On the day of service, received a call from Todd that he is running late and if we still want service today , he will charge us extra $60/hr just to show up. when we asked about rescheduling , gave us a 5 day wait. - still don't know why WE would have to pay more when HE is the one running late. he came in and told me the problem was not the thermostat but the circuit board THEY put on was the wrong one for the heat pump, and they would replace it for free ( still had to pay $149 for him coming in) also told me the new thermostat needs a new outside sensor and i would be better off buying a Honeywell thermostat and they would replace it when they bring the new circuit board. told me it would take 1-2 days. I called them back after i did not hear back for the whole week. this time Bruce came in , replaced the Circuit board, said the wiring for the last circuit board was wring. Put the New $250 honewywell thermostat on, but would not turn the system on, said the thermostat was wrong . spent 1/2 hour arguing with honeywell customer care on the phone. when i gave him the original system's thermostat to put back on ( the one that had worked for the past 3 years since the system was installed) . he went to his truck and started to wright the bill. He said he did not want to put the thermostat on b/c it will cost me more. I even offered to buy one from them, he brought one from is truck for $330 ( $170 on Amazon and Lowes) but had the wrong one in the box. made me put the thermostat back on that took me 10 minutes. He checked the wiring and said everything looked good, had the system run once. and left. charged me another $225. i woke up this morning and viola .. heat pump does not work again.. left them a message on their machine and now i am writing the review... after spenigin $1200 so far I am back to where i was in May. i should have looked in the back of the heat pump and seen the number of the original installer. UPDATE: After called. Supervisor Kevin came to house and fixed problems. promised to reimburse. So at the end .. mixed feelings but happy system works again.

.The work was done efficiently and thoroughly. However, when receiving the initial estimate of $1025 for the water tank replacement, I was not advised of the need for additional parts and work to "bring it up to code," such as the expansion tank (which I knew nothing about), the seismic strapping, and the replacement of various copper lines, as well as the drip pan and flood stop. It brought my costs up to nearly three times my original estimate ($2803), which I didn't learn about until they were already in there and doing the work, which made me unable to get any other full estimates. I called them because their sticker was on the old tank; I didn't know what prior work they had done for the previous owners.
Description of Work: Replaced water heater, expansion tank, pan and flood stop, applied seismic strapping, 125 psi relief valve, and acquired permit,

Response from Day & Nite Plumbing & Heating, Inc.
I completely understand how it can feel to have a price quoted to do a job and because of other things it ends up being more. This is the difficult nature of service work where often we are asked to give a price of a water heater over the phone but can’t see the site so we do our best to quote for the standard installation. You see, a lot of homes have most or all of the code requirements and don’t need anything else other than the standard installation of the tank. In other cases we won’t know what we are up against until we actually arrive on site, and there can be a lot of variation from household to household. In your case a 125lbs relief valve was one of the things needed which in our area is a very low percentage of water heaters that would have that particular requirement. The other part of it is the average home owner doesn’t know if their water heater is installed per code, or if there is a safety hazard, or if there is some way we could better protect property. These are things that are extremely difficult to convey over the phone. We feel as the professionals in the plumbing industry with a reputation known for quality work and honesty that it is in everybody’s best interest to educate our customers of what is needed for a proper installation. This way you know your options and can make the educated decision before you make a purchase, weather you chose to go with us or another company. I’m sorry that the price with the options ended up being more than what was expected. I wish there were a perfect system, but what we found works best due to the difficulty of quoting over the phone is to make sure that we are upfront with customers as soon as we become aware of other options or code requirements. So when our technicians get on site they should always be presenting options (if there are any) and pricing prior to doing any work. Water heaters are one of only a few services we actually quote over the phone. With water heaters, though pricing for a standard install is given over the phone, our technicians do the same process when it comes to informing our customers. This way our customers are well informed and can still have the opportunity to make the purchasing decision based on their needs, weather they chose to go with us or another company. We know how some companies can get a bad name by being careless (or unfortunately deliberate) with misquoting only to jack up the price later. Because we value our good name we truly feel a deep responsibility to take care in how we quote every job, and therefore developed this procedure of presenting options and pricing before we do the work. I use to be a technician myself for both Plumbing and HVAC and still hold my Commercial Journeyman Plumber’s license and EPA Refrigerant license. I can honestly say from the perspective of someone who loved to help and serve others while I was out in the field to now one who manages our family owned business that we truly want to educate and inform, not deceive or mislead. I’m not sure if you were expecting a response from me or not, but when I saw your review I felt it was important that you understood our intent and how we operate under our Code of Ethics. I hope this was helpful and if you have any questions for me please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you! It did not go well. The clog was attributed to toilet paper. The clog was cleaned. No warranty. A day later, same old, same old, a clogged toilet. At the same time they were also trying to sell us a new low flow toilet. A note here, this is based on the paperwork. I am the property owner, currently living overseas for Uncle Sam. I rely on a property manager, who in turn relied on this plumber. We have contacted another firm in the Seattle area. I'll post those results, hopefully a lot better, as soon as I have a report from our property manager.

This morning we had a mainline clog so I looked for plumbers using online resources. I looked on Yelp and you all said these guys were amazing. Wow. I feel deceived by this community. Either you are all liars or you just don't really care about p****** your money away. Immediately he was acting like this was a catastrophe before we really explained the scenario. After he thoroughly escalated the event, he started throwing out that cabling the main line would be a waste of time because it sounded much more dire. He suggested that he use the jetter. When he threw out the price, he said it came with a 3 year warranty and that any backup was covered. I figured... oh well, lets do it. Before that though, he launched into this pressured sale of a service contract and all these products (Root X, some enzymes etc...). Having researched this very product, I knew Root X to be a huge waste of money and I asked him if he knew that rock salt was just as effective. He said he's heard that said but he didn't know it to be true. He then stopped looking at me and began to make his pitch to my husband. In the end, the price he quoted for the jetting was well over what I had researched all morning but we were in a crunch and he was there so we agreed. I figured the 3 year warranty would make it worth it. He said he was going to write up the bid and let us know. Instead he just started working. We stupidly did not interrupt him. When he was midway, he called us outside to the cleanout and began to tell us of the impending armageddon that would befall us if we didn't replace the entire sewer line. Mind you, we had a sewer scope less than a year ago from another Yelp guy (who was AWESOME: Aaron @ Seattle sewer inspection). So, at this point, I was thinking this guy was just scamming us. He wouldn't continue the work without this long narrative about how we needed to replace it all ASAP. I shut it down by saying we weren't doing that and that if we did, we'd need bids. He continued his work. After he was done, he showed us the sewer scope camera as it was being recoiled. The pipe looked fine. He kept exaggerating the condition. Mind you, we'd already done this sewer scope thing less than a year ago with the honest guy. Also, this was the 3rd sewer scope I've viewed. Having seen real damage, this was looking pretty awesome to me. When it came down to the pricing, the sheet had insane charges. When I asked him about the warranty, he said... "oh no, I can't warranty this now". Its way too complicated. I was livid but I didn't rebut. I figured... I will just chalk this to being scammed and my fault for not getting the price on paper before the work. THEN, he continued to push the need for a new line. Even if we need a new line (which all indications from honesty guy: Aaron suggest not), we would NEVER NEVER NEVER use these people. I am so disgusted from this entire interaction. As for the actual work, lets see if it was even good. I will most assuredly update this if we get another backup. They earned the one star for showing up on time and doing... something. After he left, another plumber called me back and his price was WELL under this nonsense. Oh, and in case you're interested in jetting your own line, you can buy a machine that does this for $2500 - $7000. I feel like we made a down payment on one. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Description of Work: He listed $690 for the cabling + $240 (because our pipe is longer than he thought) $650 for the jetting $450 for the scope $40 for that crap he was trying to push on us that I'd already said several times we didn't want and $60 for more products we said we didn't want. He then crossed out the jetting, the scope, the products (after I practically chastised him for pushing them on us) and our final bill was $1003 !!!!!! So, I'm still thinking... oh well we have that warranty. NOPE!

Adam did a great job - he was punctual, fixed our kitchen sink plumbing issues and even looked at a bathroom drain for free. He double checked all his work and made sure everything was in good working order before leaving, he was even clean! The only plumber I have ever had (or contractor for that matter) that really took care to make sure he didn't make a big mess and cleaned up the little things that did happen. He used a white towel - let's just say I was happily surprised. He

The first time they came was in November to repair my faucet, which was when they replaced the cartridge. The faucet began leaking again in March, just a few months later, and they came back out to check it out. The first time they did about 1/2 hour of work and charged me $265, and that was even with a senior discount. That seemed awfully high for the amount of work performed. When the faucet began leaking again just a few months later, they told me that there work wasn't warrantied from before and that I would need to replace the whole faucet. They even charged me $42.70 for that second visit, when they were just coming back out to look at their failing work. They gave me an estimate of $261.70 to replace the faucet and that's even with me buying the faucet myself and they would add another $39 for a trip charge. Their prices seem extravagant. When I called to complain about their prices, I spoke to Brandy, and she was very nasty to me and hung up on me. They're pricing seemed a little tricky too because they charged me after-hours prices as well, which begin at 5pm. The plumber was even here before that, but he waited in his truck until after that to come in and do the work. I even went out and asked him why he was waiting and he said he was doing paperwork.
Description of Work: Replaced faucet parts under the handle on a Moen faucet. The receipt indicates that they replaced the cartridge inside. They also came back out when the faucet started leaking again.
